Nothing - it was perfect

The view and nature!
I like everything.

Beautiful location, charming castle and spa facilities, and also an incredible breakfast.
The shower had a low pressure hot water with only few drops falling, what was a problem at night. Although they have a Michelin recommended restaurant, it works with half capacity and is not available for guests without early reservation.

incredibly beautiful

stunning property in the Tuscan hills. beautiful facilities, including outdoor infinity pool overlooking green hills and valleys and indoor pool with spa facilities.
the one Michelin star restaurant had exceptional service and staff. however I felt the menu was a touch under power. in fact the much cheaper second restaurant serving local food was much better value for money.

the breakfast was really poor, cold eggs, fruits looked and tasted like they were lying in the plate for hours, croissants artificial taste. For such a luxurious resort really poor.

beautiful location with amazing views. lovely gardens and pool area.

Beautiful scenery.
Breakfast can be improved. The Osteria was not open to other non staying guests. The restaurant Ii Pievano’s food was below expectations of a Michelin starred restaurant.

incredible property! highly recommended.

The location, the views and Michelin star restaurant are wonderful.
Rooms are a bit out dated, however, that is part of the charm. Warm water pressure in the shower was extremely low. Hopefully they are able to fix that for new guests.

Absolutely fantastic experience at the Castello!
It was my birthday and I really loved that the property offered a bottle of Prosecco in the room for us! What a great start!
Facilities are beautiful, overlooking Tuscany hills and vineyards. The pool was a bit cold, but that's normal for late September and following a week of rain.
We were allowed use of the spa for no additional costs and had dinner at Pievano restaurant. We would have preferred to have dinner in the lovely courtyard outside but we were told it would have been a bit cold, which is understandable for the time of the year. We'd definitely recommend that during summer though.
Location was easily accessible, free parking on site and super nice staff helping with bags throughout our stay.
Room was of a pretty good size, with both a shower and bath.
Breakfast was a very big and varied buffet on a terrace overlooking the property.
It was a superb birthday!
We didn't really enjoy much of the outside pool as the water was pretty cold, but it was understandable for late September.

The location and the scenery are lovely. It is a charming place to relax and enjoy yourself.
The price of the wine in the shop was surprisingly high given it is local. The Michelin restaurant was closed during our stay and the alternative is not to the same level.
No wine tasting options available.

Beautiful breakfast spot on the veranda. We had the small attic room, with the most incredible views. We loved every minute of our stay here at Castello di Spaltenna.
Our first night we had dinner at the Michelin star restaurant at the hotel, which surprised us in every way. Incredible amuse bouche, food & wine - incredible service throughout.
Our second night we wanted to stay in and have in-room dining, however the options were 5 things on the menu or the Michelin star restaurant. It would have been great after being out all day on adventures to have a few more in-door dining options.
We walked about 10 minutes down to the local town instead, which suited us perfectly.

Overall the staff were helpful and organised two lovely wine tastings near by and suggested a local restaurant for lunch which was far better than the michelin star restaurant onsite and cheaper!
The spa/ pool were nice to have on site and we also had a lovely massage by the in house therapist.
On arrival we were informed they wouldn’t have space for us in the restaurant so were obliged to drive out for dinner.
The rooms are nice allbeit they seemed a little dated. The a/c in the room was noisy and didn’t work. And probably the most surprising thing was the breakfast which had limited offering with only scrambled eggs (cold) or boiled eggs. For a 5* hotel where rooms are charged over 300euro per night this is unacceptable, and when we asked if we could have other type of eggs they provided a menu with a plain omlette costing 12euros.
One evening we dined at the Michelin * restaurant which in our eyes is over priced for the quality of food and it seemed dated. The staff were the same as the breakfast service which again is surprising when it is meant to be Michelin star. Unfortunately due to the weather we couldn’t sit in the courtyard and had to sit inside the restaurant which again seemed very dated and dark.

Wonderful and relaxed breakfast on the terrace with a view over the beautiful park
The park is so large and well maintained and you can still find a private corner for yoga practice or just to read
The staff was beyond helpful and kind and nice - such a pleasure

There really is no where better to stay in Tuscany.
Nothing not to like

Its a beautiful place to stay in the Chianti region. I have been to Tuscany a few times and can tell this place is very good. It's a historical heritage monastery that provides luxe rooms and service. Its very difficult to maintain such a large place in great conditions but they are doing well. The reception guys are great! Valentina was very helpful and kind. Bedrooms are spacious and clean. Love the turn down service in the evening... perfect! The breakfast is nice but it could do with few hot options like omelettes and more options of bread but its fine. The surrounds are beautiful. Great for walks and discover of the region. I can't wait to return.
Nothing to fault. As a suggestion they can improve the conditions of SPA.

Reasonably priced for a good 5 star hotel. This was the second time I stayed in this hotel during the summer and a pleasure to come back. Comfortable room and bed and excellent !! restaurant. Good facilities (business centre, pool table, sitting room etc). The pool is excellent with a nice view of the Tuscany landscape. Good parking facilities.
Pets not allowed. Little bit difficult to drag you suitcases through the grid from the parking to the hotel. Valet parking would have been nice.
