Holiday house in quiet fishing village, very close to sea and sandy beach.
Le Crotoy is a small fishing village which is an easy hour and a half drive from Calais on the Baie de Somme and on the opposite side of the estuary to St. Valery sur Somme. House has parking for one car, enclosed front and rear gardens, two double bedrooms and a large bedroom with four single beds. TV with french channels. Wi Fi available.

The house is very near the beach & a short walk into the town centre, where there are several bakeries & fishmongers & a butcher and plenty of restaurants.
The house has a simple lay out with a lovely veranda to have meals outside. The garden is sheltered & fully enclosed.
The stairs to the bedrooms are a little steep & narrow, so wouldn’t suit someone with mobility restrictions.
The galley kitchen is well equipped with a great filter coffee machine. It would have been great if one cupboard could have been left empty for our food; we had to leave lots on the work surface which reduced our space. The house sleeps 8 so it was good that there is a wine fridge in addition to the under counter fridge.
A previous review had suggested a spare/second door key. Agree that this is a good idea.
Be aware that all the roads nearby do not have free parking for significant parts of the year. The car space in the drive was a little tight for our medium sized car, but we did manage to park the car.

We had a fantastic stay in this house in Le Crotoy. It had everything you need for a great holiday. We really enjoyed the outside space especially the decking. The beds were really comfy and there was plenty of space for the four of us (parents with 2 adult children). Lots of English books and games - which we took advantage of - playing poker on the deck in the evening! It is very close to the shops, beach and has plenty of restaurants to choose from. And if you catch the sea at high tide you can enjoy a swim too. Which was most welcome as I think we had the hottest week ever! The only suggestion I have is to provide a second front door key - as we were on holiday with our grown up kids they didn’t necessarily want to get up early and join us on the beach for a breakfast croissant - and we didn’t want to go out and leave the door unlocked with them still in bed or leave them locked in.

Groot genoeg voor 6 (4 volw en 2 tieners), evt. 8 met 4 kinderen. 1 douche/wc misschien wat krap, net als de breedte van de 2-pers. bedden. Verder goed uitgerust huisje in leuk plaatsje.

Un environnement très agréable, un jardin et une terrasse a l'Est bien agréable par fortes chaleurs. La mer et les commerces a deux pas. Dans un cadre manifestement créé par une artiste. De très bons contacts avec le propriétaire par écrit et par sa représentante sur place.

Ein schönes Haus mit viel Liebe eingerichtet. Die Lage ist genial. Ein paar Minuten zum Strand, alles was einen Urlaub in Frankreich genießen lässt, in nächster Nähe.

Séjour agréable du fait de l’emplacement de la maison et jardin très plaisant et sécurisant pour les enfants.
Un petit bémol sur les conditions d’hygiène.Il serait préférable de supprimer les tapis de la chambre d’enfants qui sont tachés et poussiéreux ainsi que celui du salon.
De plus ,le matelas d’une chambre adulte devra être changé car souillé.

Perfect location !
After a few complicated days due to roadworks We had the most perfect stay in a ideal location for beach walks and fun with the kids. The House is very cosy and welcoming. Judy very understanding and friendly when We shared out concern with the road work Nuisance. We would stay again for sure !

Charmante petite maison
La maison de Judy est charmante et confortable. Les pièces de vie sont un peu petites pour un séjour hivernal à six (quatre adultes et deux enfants). L’emplacement est idéal, a deux pas de la mer et quelques minutes à pied des commerces. La personne en charge de la location est très réactive.
Nous recommandons chaleureusement cette location !

séjour très très agréable. la maison est décorée avec gout. les meubles, les objets déco, les canapés et fauteuils sont tous choisis pour donner une atmosphère de maison de famille, avec en plus des peintures charmantes . même les housses de couettes sont belles. le chauffage marche très bien et nous a permis de passer d'excellentes soirées après les marches en plein vent, voire dans la mer pour observer les phoques.

Wunderschönes Haus in perfekter Lage
Das Haus hat Flair und Charme und einen wundervollen Garten. Die Lage ist perfekt: Das Meer, das nächste Restaurant sind direkt um die Ecke. Auch ein großer Spielplatz mit öffentlicher Toilette und Imbissbuden sind zu Fuß schnell erreichbar, falls man so etwas mit Kindern sucht. Die Entfernung zum Zentrum beträgt nur wenige Minuten zu Fuß. Das Haus passt in seinem Stil sehr gut zum malerischen Ort Le Crotoy.

A cosy family house near the beach
The house was adorable and large enough. The big garden and the terrace near the kitchen were marvellous; from morning till evening we enjoyed the sunny weather!
The kitchen and bathroom were a little outdated, but we were okay with it.
The lady who “ keeps” the house was very friendly and welcoming.

La propriété est tout à fait adaptée à une grande famille avec bébé, pré ado et ado, il y a 2 chambres parentales et une chambre pour les enfants avec espace pour s'amuser ou pour discuter avec jouets ou jeux de société à disposition.
Il y a un lit bébé et du matériel pour sécuriser ( barrière pour l'escalier, tapis pour la douche, jeux pour le bain, pot etc....bien utile car inutile de se charger!) Très bon accueil.

Séjour familial au bord de mer.
Nous avons passés une semaine dans cette agréable maison qui a tout le charme des maison de ville, cosy et accueillante. Sa proximité de la plage, des commerces et de l’aire de jeu est appréciable avec des enfants en bas âge. La maison est « ancienne » mais confortable.
Petits bémols: la rambarde des escaliers dehors est un peu vieille et tous les DVD sont en anglais, un peu frustrant pour les enfants ;)
Je recommande vivement cette maison et y retournerai avec plaisir pour de nouvelles vacances en famille, au bord de mer.

Location au crotoy
Très jolie petite maison, idéale pour une famille. La maison est extrêmement bien située, à 2 minutes de la plage, à 5 minutes des commerces. Petit jardin à l’arrière parfait pour que les enfants jouent en toute sécurité. La maison est par ailleurs bien chauffée (nous y étions en février). Et la baie de somme est magnifique ! Nous y avons passé un très bon séjour en famille.
Seul regret, le frigo est vraiment trop petit pour une famille de 5 personnes ;-)

Un logement bien équipé
La maison correspond à la description publiée sur le site Abritel. Elle est bien équipée et décorée avec goût ( sauf les tulipes en plastique ! ) . Pour le prix, finalement assez élevé et un peu trompeur car jouant sur l'ambiguité € / £ on aurait apprécié quelques bûches préparées pour les soirées fraiches, dans le salon, un véritable barbecue avec du charbon de bois et une indication claire de l'endroit où planter l'étendoir à linge.

Deux semaines idéales avec notre 4 petits enfants, ravis de dormir dans la même chambre. Astucieux rangements sous les lits ,idéal .
Un peu juste dans la chambre avec lavabo mais grâce à la machine à laver pas besoin de venir avec une grosse valise.
Chaque pièce est agréable. Pleine d,'attention. Il ne manque rien ( sauf peut-être une essoreuse à salade).
Cette maison est VIVANTE. Elle semble habitée et n'est pas vide de vie comme beaucoup de location
Elle est à 2mn de la plage .tout près des commerces. Nous avons fait toutes nos courses à pied.

Cette maison est très bien placée, décorée avec beaucoup de goût, idéale pour une famille avec enfants, beau jardin.
Cependant l'équipement est rudimentaire, la literie est en partie beaucoup trop usée et les sanitaires + robinetterie sont vétustes.

Lovely week in Le Crotoy!
Beautiful family home in a lovely resort, house has everything anyone could possiblt want for a great holiday.
We have just returned from having had an amazing week there and have already booked for next summer to take our grandchildren - this will be our fifth visit to this lovely house, we hope to keep returning here!

We had a wonderful time in the little 'blue house' which was perfect for us and our eleven year old twins. The house is well equipped and perfectly situated just outside the centre of the village and the very close by beach (3 min walk). The balcony provides a great place for breakfast and a good shady outdoor living during the afternoon. The garden is surprising big for a house in the village and well sheltered with good privacy.
The village itself is very friendly, relaxed enough to have the kids stroll around on their own. Plenty of restaurants for excellent seafood and other tasty meals. The beach is really tidy, free - clean! - bathrooms available. The most impressive and amazing feature is tidal outlet of the Somme. With 10m difference between high and low tide the salt marsh and mudflats are totally exposed during low tide and provide many km2 for fantastic walks. During high tide swimming, especially for the kids is save and entertaining. Nothing for surfers, though ;-)
We loved it, nothing at all to complain. Even the trip from the Netherlands to Le Crotoy on the first day of the summer holidays was without any problems since it is out of any major big crowd holiday destination.

Although we didn't meet the owner, Judy, or the cleaner we received a warm welcome in the form of a gift of biscuits and a bottle of wine which was very kind. Judy had provided us before arrival with detailed instructions on how to reach the property and useful information about the property and the surrounding area. The property was very bright and airy (and cool in what turned out to be a very hot week). It is ideally situated only being a short walk from the beach and the coast footpath into the town centre (about 10 minutes walk to the main area with restaurants/bars). The balcony was great for breakfast in the morning and evening drinks overlooking the large enclosed garden with rose bushes. Downstairs, there is a covered patio area should it be raining but warm enough to sit outside. Judy has provided lots of books, games & DVDs should the weather not be good. Bedrooms were roomy enough. There is a lack of wardrobes but plenty of drawers to make up for that. The kitchen was fully stocked and functional. The property has off road parking which is very convenient although I don't think parking in the road off-season would be a problem. This is an ideal location to explore the Picardy coast - Mers-Les-Bains with its art nouveau style properties is a must see. We recommend the following places: Le Houdel, Crecy-en-Ponthieu (and the forest), Regnieres-Ecluse. Marquenterre Park & Valloires Abbey. You won't be stuck for ideas about what to do as Judy has provided lots of leaflets on the surrounding area to assist you in choosing days out. As for Le Crotoy itself it's a small bustling centre with restaurants and bars around the Place Jeanne d'Arc. We recommend Le Commerce, Aux Trois Jean (very close to the property overlooking the bay) and the seafood platter at La Bonne Franquette II. If you are looking to explore the Picardy coast you could not find a better base to explore it from. Thank you Judy.
