Could have stayed longer ♡
Local place, beautiful garden with lots of birds and palm trees. Lovely 2 dogs and 2 cats on premises, all really friendly and sweet. Amazing staff, always smiling and willing to help. We stayed for 7 nights and it was great!
There is no ATM close by so make sure you bring enough cash to avoid extra trips.

Excellent value and location
You will need quite some patience and understanding because of the electricity and water cuts, staff are good hearted but things like breakfast move slowly slowly, just enjoy , have a morning walk and swimming in birthday suit before..
Small groups of locals coming at sunset with their loud music boxes, forget about listening to the ocean waves

Run down place with electricity problems
The lodge is a nice part of the Paradise Beach, where you can enjoy the sun between a lot of palmtrees and relax nicely.
Still it is a bit unclean, compared to the other beaches we saw in Gambia. Sometimes the smell of fish from the neighboring factory spreads quickly when the wind is right. Nevertheless, the Jungle Lodge is reasonably tidy but with some rubbish in the corners. The promised sea view of the Deluxe Suite can only be realized from the terrace past the pile of pallets. The whole lodge is pretty run down, more than we expected. We only stayed for 24 hours of our planed five nights. Unfortunately, we got stomach problems on the first afternoon after eating there and were therefore tied to the room, in which the promised wifi was not even there to be found. Around midnight the power went out completely on the entire beach, which of course can happen - but for us this meant to spend the night completely without water, without light, without a toilet etc. while being sick. It was an awful night for us due to several unfortunate circumstances. The entire area is probably also often affected by power cuts, but the Jungle Lodge has no emergency generator. For a short period of time these are tolerable conditions. But during our stay it lasted from the evening until late the next day and when the electricity couldn't be repaired in the morning either, we quickly decided that we wanted to leave immediately and didn't want to stay there for four nights longer in this situation and with the risk of even spending more days sick and without water & electricity. Unfortunately, this was not made possible for us so easily to leave. At first there was appeasement and delay and after hours of waiting and discussion, one manager showed up but just called another manager and after waiting for him to arrive and again talking and endless explanations he was rude and aggressive towards us. After a long and loud discussion, we got our money back and were allowed to leave the lodge.
