Access to local skiing is 1.5km from the chalet and access to the whole of the Grand Massif, which includes Samoens 1600, Les Carroz, Flaine, Morillon and Sixt; via a free ski bus from the village or a ten minute drive to the gondola at Samoens, where there is plenty of free parking.
Sixt village has ski hire, a bakery, a mini supermarket, restaurants and bars.

Two contemporary bathrooms, a large lounge with wood burning stove, an open plan dining area, fully equipped modern kitchen, a mezzanine area and balcony with stunning views of the Alps. The ski du fond starts in the national park and the tracks pass at the back of the chalet. A chalet for all seasons.
The town of Samoens is 5km away with an abundance of restaurants, bars, supermarkets, swimming pool and leisure activities. The village of Morillon has a swimming lake only 10 minutes away.
Included in the rental price is bedlinen and towels. We provide our guests with logs for the wood burning stove, which heats the whole chalet.
There is a barbecue for our guests use on beautiful summer evenings.
The chalet has a television that can play DVD’s, it is not connected to French television or the internet. However we do supply an HDIM cable to enable guests to steam TV through a lap top

We are satisfied with our stay in this fully furnished house. Unfortunately ther was no snow at the house, but there was plenty of space around the house to play with small children. It was a bit of a drive to the slopes, but that was no problem. We had good contact with the owner and all questions were answered neatly and quickly. The owner was very helpfully. We had a very nice week. Thanks for all.

The location of the chalet is great and there is more than enough space for seven people. The facilities are very good and the contact with the hosts went without any problems. We felt very comfortable the whole time.

really great chalet, well located for summer alpine hiking.

Carol is a great host and incredibly quick to react. The dishwasher broke down and she arranged a new one to be installed within a day. Impressive!
The chalet is very nice, well maintained, well equipped and well located: central but still quiet. I think for 10 adults it might be a bit tight, but for 7-8 adults it’s ideal.
I would definitely recommend this chalet if you like nature.

A great family holiday
A great place. In particular the kitchen and dining room were the best equipped that we have used for a long time. Looks like it is set up for the owners to use and so it has more equipment than usual. Lovely area that was new to us and look forward to going back.

The cottage is perfect for a stay away from cities and hectic life. Situated in a very tranquil forest environment without any noise other than from the water stream. This is a perfect get away for families who still like to do activities in nature for that there is a lot to do nearby. The contact with the host was fast and helpful. I can recommend this cottage.

Beautiful house in a stunning location
We had a lovely time at this property. We travelled as a family of 5 (children aged 7-12) in July. The house was beautiful (there's actually much more than is listed, e.g. in the kitchen and in the wide selection of games) and very comfortable. The area is stunning - just 2 km from the start of the Cirque Fer a Cheval walks. For running, there are nice routes from the house.
The town of Sixt has nice bars and the Sherpa shop had everything we needed, including lovely cheese and meats. The children loved the activities in Morillon (obstacle courses, treetops climbing, lake swimming, jumping into an airbag). We also took the cable car and chair lift from Samoens. The luge ride at Chamonix was lots of fun!
Carol and Gerry were very helpful and responsive throughout, and the instructions for finding and accessing the property were straightforward and clear.
Something that may be useful to know - a lot of activity centres only take cash, not credit cards.
We had a wonderful time, and would love to return!

Beautiful Chalet in a perfect location
We had a wonderful stay here over Christmas!
The chalet is very easy to locate based on the instructions provided.
It is in a beautiful location with views of the mountains and the river.
A car is a necessity as it is a little way out of the village but everything you need is within a 5-10 minute drive.
The chalet itself is beautiful, lots of space, between 6 of us, the mezzanine level is perfect for children giving them their own space. The chalet is fully equipped with all you need. We felt completely at home for our weeks stay.
We explored the surrounding villages and attended the local events over the Christmas period which made it extra special.
Skiing is readily available in Samoëns on the Grand Massif Express taking you to the top of the mountain for spectacular views, the kids enjoyed sledging and my husband the skiing - aimed mainly at beginnners but links to several ski areas.
Carol and Gerry have been very approachable with any queries to help.
Hopefully we will be returning again 😃

The most brilliant place for skiing, walking or rafting away from all the stresses of the world.
We loved every bit of our stay in a wonderful chalet, which is in a great location for both skiing and walking. The local amenities are brilliant with a great bakery just down the road and all you will need during the stay in Samoën. Throughly recommend getting the local chef in to cater for you if you are a large group for a special night. "Ski Higher" were also brilliant for any ski equipment required as they come to chalet to drop off and pick up your equipment. This is a great traditional place to stay with opportunities to relax or be as active as you like. We felt at home in a well equipped chalet that was well appointed and comfortably accommodated the 9 we had staying there with room to spare.

Beautiful Chalet!
The chalet was beautiful, really cosy, really homely, and had everything in it you could possibly need. The setting was stunning - placed bang slap in the French Alps with snowy woodland all around and an icy cold river flowing metres away. The skiing nearby was fantastic. I would definitely stay again.

Perfect for families with children
We (2 families with 3 kids in total) spent the first week of 2017 in this beautiful chalet. Being inside the nature for a whole week was amazing. Luckily, it snowed for some days and we had the chance to see "Cirque Fer a Cheval" national park with its frozen waterfalls. There are ski areas for various levels.
The atmosphere inside the chalet was awesome and we enjoyed every minute of it. The log burner + electrical heaters were more than enough for heating. We wore t-shirts at all times in the chalet although it was -10 Celcius degrees outside. The kitchen was fully equipped. Having a barbecue on snow was priceless just like playing charades with the kids. Finally, the big screen TV set + games help a lot to spend time without internet.
Long story short, we all enjoyed our week in this nice place.

Family time well spent
It's hard to spend quality family time with those you love in our busy lives. We took a week out as a family at this residence and it was the best tjing we ever did.. The place is awesome and has everything you need. It's in a quiet hamlet and when it's snowing, we saw people go past on ski's outside the window! Brilliant accommodation and excellent owners. Thank you!

alternative winter sports
I'm not the best downhill skier, so Sixt is a perfect venue for me!
There is gentle downhill skiing at Morillon - a long green slope through the forest with great views over the valley as well as the green & blue slopes at Sixt.
But even better, there are some great cross country skiing tracks, which are quiet, and take you through stunning scenary. From the "Cirque Fer à Cheval" down the valley, through forests and along the river. It was magical in January; pristine snow, snow clad trees, the icy river and hardly anyone around! (& of course much cheaper than downhill skiing !)
As well as cross contry skiing, we tried walking with "raquettes" (snow shoes). Another great way to take in the stunning scenary in a truly peaceful environnment, and in the thick snow they are really necessary if you want to explore off the beaten track!

Skiing Two Families
This is a beautiful chalet set amongst glorious scenery just outside of the village of Sixt Fer A Cheval.
The chalet is well equipped with all the amenities you would expect from your own home. The set out is fantastic with a large seating and dining area on the first floor and a television area on the second floor ideal for the children to unwind before bed.
The bathrooms are of a high standard and the showers are great. The bedrooms are spread over three floors allowing families to be separate. The kitchen is of a high standard with everything you will need.
All in all this is the brilliant accommodation and I hope to be able to return again soon.

Cosy winter family holiday
This chalet is beautiful. There was great attention to detail and every comfort was met. It was perfect for a family holiday of mixed ages with different activities planned. The chalet is very homely and cosy but also spacious and modern. It is cared for and well appointed and we would recommend it to friends and family.
It is a spectacular area that we already knew and is great for skiing, ice-climbing, snowshoeing or just relaxing in the chalet with a good book and a hot chocolate whilst admiring the spectacular views.

Skiholiday with two families
We really had a great time in this chalet, which is incredibly good equiped and spacious. We had quite different wheather situations, changing between sun, rain and snowstorm in the mountains, necessity to put on snow chains, we enjoyed everything. Our children managed to "survive" in France without french language knowledge, even in the snow/ski kindergarten there were no problems for the youngest. We would like to come back....

50+ first skier
This Chalet is excellently equiped and in a lovely spot. It is a wonderful escape from city life. The first morning we were there it was snowing and a snow plough cleared up to the driveway. The kitchen is so well supplied you can be certain someone from a professional catering background has had input here. The bathrooms are modern and stylish. There is enough space to accomadete 10 comfortably and we used the chalet to full capacity. The wood burner makes the whole place toasty and we only needed it for a few hours a day.
The ski resort a samoens at 1600m has everthing needed for a first time skier. Plenty of choices of green and blue runs. The more able skiers disappeared to greater heights and had fantastis skiing. We all lunched together some days and others we met up in smaller groups.
I will ski again and would love to return with another group to this chalet.

Blue racer
If you are into skiing you probably know how good the area is so I will just comment on this chalet.
The owners clearly like quality and comfort and this is reflected in all the fixtures and fittings. All the beds have high quality pillows, dovets, and mattresses enduring a really snuggly nights sleep. The two separate lounges make it ideal for adults and older children to have their own space.
The bathrooms are gorgeous with lots of glass panels and delicate tiling. There's loads of hot water which allowed all eleven of us the so necessary long hot shower after a full day skiing.
The chalet absorbed 11 of us so easily. We never felt on top of each other - we fitted around the dining table easily.
You won't find any cheap cups or glasses - the kitchen is full of good stuff from the state of the art salad spinner, the three coffee makers, sharpe professional quality knives and a great range if pots and pans. It's s pleasure to cook in that kitchen.
Loads of storage downstairs for ski stuff and room to dry everything.
Perfect!

Skiing at Sixt
Fantastic stay. Second time I have been there first time during the walking season excellent area for wonderful walks. Skiing was fantastic: superb choice of resorts within easy reach and Sixt has great nursery slopes for beginners with snow making machines available if the snow is not perfect. For the intermediate or expert, Flane is not far away and Morillon and Samoen are within an easy drive or ski bus away. Some of our party skiied from Flane to Sixt on the cascade run 10km long wheeeeee!
Chalet is like a home from home. Property was clean, spacious and well maintained. Lots of nice touches eg spices in the kitchen. Wonderful woodburner so toasty and comfortable. There was eleven adults and we all slept comfortably and well. Plenty of kitchen utensils and pots and pans. Also had one night of catering organised from a local chef which was wonderful and luxury.
I would thoroughly recommend this chalet. A little way outside the village but bikes are available in the chalet all different sizes and the road is cleared by snow ploughs on a very regular basis so no problem with access even after 7 inches of snow. The views from the windows are fabulous and a nice veranda to sit out in the sunshine. We hired a car from Geneva airport but there are buses available to Sixt town which has everything you need. Supermarket, Boulangerie (baker) ski hire shop and pub.
I am raving now and sorry no, nothing negative to say and from a Scot that is unusual.

Chalet with garden and lovely views from balcony
The chalet is very comfortable and has a lovely garden for kids to play in. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking for larger groups. The setting is lovely and walks to Sixt fer du cheval are possible from the chalet (about 1 hour). There are fantastic walks around Sixt and Samoens. All in all, a great chalet for a summer break.

Summer visit
Not being a skier I hadn't considered a holiday in the Alps before, but I was blown away by the beauty of the area. The Chalet is really comfortable, and the kitchen well equipped for home cooking of fantastic local ingredients from interesting markets and specialist shops a short drive away.
Highly recommended for an outdoorsy summer break.
