balcony in the room very romantic, great location on the river, lovely views. Restaurant is fantastic

I liked that it was a bit outskirt of town. The room was decent and comfy. The first time i stayed at another hotel in Xico but that one was way better. People seem kind.
They close the gate at night. Not sure what time. Maybe 22h. Anyhow my partner went to run some errands and when he came back the gate was close so he had to jump over a little wall and down. Really easy for him not much of a problem but maybe for an old lady or something.

sweet location near the river though it is not in the centro. trout dinner was yummy. for the price it was fine
restaurant closed very early 6 pm so get to dinner early. the bed was quite hard and getting a decent WiFi signal meant standing by the office.

nice clean
wifi was bad and they didn’t offer breakfast as offered and paid for ahead of reservation

Room was great and the location at the bottom of the hill by the river was lovely with the sound of the river at night. Staff and cleaner were very nice and helpful too
The restaurant food was expensive and wasn't that good although I only tried one plate and the coffee so maybe I was just unlucky. There was building work going on until around 11pm which was annoying.

Nothing
Noise, room arrangements, impossible to use the toilets if you are tall

The balcony was great and you see and hear the water rushing.
Too far away from anything. Room was tiny and dark until you opened up the door. Restaurant was closed for dinner. Nothing in the area.

This hotel is beautifully situated beside a crystal-clear and litter-free river (not easy to find in Mexico). It's about a ten-minute walk from the heart of Xico, which is a delightful town. Note, however, that there's a steep hilly stretch en route that would be difficult to hike up for the less fit, and impossible for the wheelchair-bound. My room was rather small, but attractively designed and cleaned daily. For some reason, the price with free cancellation and a good breakfast included was only slightly more than the locked-in, no-breakfast option; if you can get the same deal, it's well worth it. Just across the river, and over another rather steep hill, is some ravishing countryside that's ideal for strolling (see photos). On a clear and haze-free day, Mexico's highest mountain, Pico de Orizaba, looms majestically snow-capped on the horizon -- an unexpected and unforgettable sight.
Wifi in the rooms is weak and wavering at the best of times. About 48 hours after I arrived for a week-long stay, the router failed; the only place to get a good signal was in the office, although there's comfortable seating there. No-one seemed very bothered about it, and it wasn't fixed during the remainder of my time.
