Lovely people and property.
A bit more room so could have a bedside table on both sides of the bed.

Pete was a very attentive host. The room was clean and quiet with a good shower. Lovey peaceful outdoor area with a small lake. Fantastic cooked breakfast which catered for me being gluten free.
At 6ft4 the bed wasn't the biggest for me, but that wouldn't be an issue for most people and it was still comfortable.

Welcoming courteous proprietors…comfortable clean en-suite room…Peaceful location ..especially
love the gorgeous landscape garden surrounding the property-tall trees with varieties of nesting birds…small fishing lake with surrounding walking paths lined by singing bird-nesting tall
trees—ideal for resting & contemplation by all (especially nature lovers)
Highly recommended for all travellers …
All good

The proprietors Pete and Anita we exceptional hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was great and tailored to meet your dietary needs. My room had everything I needed and was spotless. Good location for my purpose of being in the area. It was quiet and easily accessible. I cannot recommend this B&B high enough.
Nothing. It was perfect.

It’s difficult to put into words what an amazing find Highfields Holiday B&B was for us but here goes.
We arrived quite late on a miserable autumn/winter day to receive the warmest of welcomes from Peter. Everything was perfect for our mini-break, from the mince pies to have with a hot drink and fresh milk in the fridge to the room and utilities which were spotlessly clean.
Our room was VERY spacious and bigger than the photos made it seem.
Nothing was a bother for the owners Pete and Anita and we were extremely lucky to be offered cooked breakfasts during our break, and, with winter upon us, they were a perfect addition to stay.
Although lunch and dinner isn’t an option there is a Chinese takeaway (highly recommended) about 4 minutes walk from the B&B, a couple of pubs nearby (didn’t venture in though) and a supermarket 1.4 miles away (walking distance).
Whittlesey village/town is about a couple of miles away too and Whittlesea Train Station about 3 miles away with links to Peterborough Central and Cambridge amongst other cities.
As for returning for another break? Definitely!!!
Our stay couldn’t have been better and for that alone we give it 10/10.
Nothing, everything was spot on

This property is beautiful, comfortable, and very secure. I travel alone so having a safe and secure environment is paramount. It was perfect! Flowers are everywhere. The beds are plush and wonderful. The room is spotlessly clean. Breakfast is 5 Star worthy. The hosts are so friendly and attentive. I just love it.
There isn’t anything at all not to like. Seriously, not one thing.

This is the second time that I have stayed at this facility and find that the owners are very friendly, welcoming and also helpful. My room on this occasion was extremely warm and quite close as it was warm day. I wouldn't appreciated some air conditioning. I would have also appreciated a place to sit down outside of the room for some fresh air.
Such as a small bistro table set would have been lovely. I did have a lovely light sleep and left feeling relaxed.
Thanks for having me me xx
As written above in overall eview.

Homey environment with the most welcoming hosts, a home away from home feeling!
Absolutely not a single thing it was perfect!

The quiet ambience and it is 10 mins by car to the city centre. The breakfast was sumptuous. The hosts were warm and welcoming.and made the stay comfortable.
The bed could have been a little bigger for the price

Secure and easy parking. Super friendly welcome even with my late arrival. Fantastic porridge as part of an excellent breakfast and I’m Scottish!
Just a personal note but I prefer super strong coffee. I will ask next time and I’m certain that the host will oblige!

Lovely friendly and private rooms in a quiet corner of this Cambridgeshire village with its own small nature reserve! Superior continental breakfast, everything you might want, delivered to your room. Highly recommended.
if you come by car, it’ll be fine but if not, the bus service from Peterborough is infrequent and it’s a long walk to Whittlesey railway station, though there are pleasant footpaths and cycle routes away from the busy main road.

Great host great breakfast and a pleasant stay as always

We loved our stay in the shepherds hut! Beautiful property, clean and gorgeous surrounds with a lake. Hosts were very accommodating. Would stay again!

Peter and Anita were so welcoming and made us feel very comfortable
Breakfast was very tasty, and nothing appeared to be too much trouble.
Highly recommend staying here
They were aware we were in the area for a funeral and contacted us to say our rooms could be available as soon as needed it, which was a relief and very welcome after travelling for 3 hours. We were able to change and meet our family feeling relaxed and comfortable.
Nothing negative to say!

Online it stated a studio with lake view. I then saw photos of the shepherds hut post booking. When we arrived we were told that’s where we were staying. I was over the moon as that’s what I wanted to book. Hosts were so helpful and just down to earth. The hut its self was just perfection. So quiet and just your own little space. The facilities in the hut were just what you needed. All necessities and the bathroom actually surprised me. Such a lovely spot and you can tell the time and love spent to make the hut the home away from home. I’ve never fallen to sleep so quick. The bed is so comfty. All in all I would have stayed for a week or even a month. It’s just perfect. Would recommend to anyone who wants somewhere that’s just cosy and secluded. Last but not least I can’t forget the cutest fluffiest ginger cat. So pleasant and sociable.
I don’t think there is anything. The water tank could do with being a little bigger but the amount of water you get is just right what what you need to do in the shower

Our second stay in this comfortable and homely accommodation which is the perfect location for trips to the RSPB site at Eldernell. The facilities for self catering are excellent and enabled us to have relaxing evenings after busy days spent out walking. We absolutely love staying here and will definitely be back in the future
Leaving for home!

Amazing room, very impressed with the quality of the room and the rest of the property. Clearly the owners have taken a lot of time and effort to get the place just right. Amazingly clean, the room was pristine both in furniture and furnishings. Impressed with the bathroom.
The breakfast is a continental breakfast which was served up in abundance and quality.
Only stayed for one night but will be back to stay longer .
Bravo to the owners so much effort to achieve such a great place.
Unfortunately we didn't get to stay longer.
Will need to come back again, hopefully very soon.

Stayed here for a few nights and I can honestly say.. What an amazing couple Peter and Anita were. Made me feel very welcome. Such beautiful people.
Continental breakfast was delicious. Room was amazing. And there is a fishing lake just a short walk away, and what an amazing place this was to sit and watch the sun set and the rising moon. Was a lovely walk around the lake too.
It is certainly somewhere I would stay again.
There was nothing I didn't like

I stayed with a friend in a twin room for one night as we were attending a christening in Ramsay. We had a warm welcome from the owner. Our room was spacious and clean with a en suite bathroom. Continental breakfast was super.

Breakfast choice good. We'll served. Location good and quiet .
If a partner goes to the loo liable to wake partner because of very bright bathroom light . Perhaps need a dim/bright setting . Don't like to mention as everything else was great
