About this house rental
This home is a partial timber-frame with vaulted ceiling, set in a wooded area overlooking peaceful Mitchell Bay. It has ample main floor space that includes the master en suite bedroom and laundry, 2 additional half baths, fireplace w/ firewood included, large eat-in kitchen, separate dining room, and large deck with a gas grill. The lower level includes 2 bedrooms, a full bath, large flat screen TV with HDMI cable for streaming (no cable TV) and a sectional couch that pulls out into a queen sleeper.
The house is fairly kid friendly, with a pack-n-play in near-new condition. There are books, games and puzzles. The TV on the main level has a DVD player and Apple TV for Netflix and Amazon streaming, and the large flat screen on the lower level has streaming availability with an HDMI cable for laptops. There is wifi. Currently, it is slow in the greater area in general, so will allow for one streaming show at a time. Hot spots from phones work well also.
The house sits raised above Mitchell Bay facing West. From here the sun sets beautifully and is enjoyed as you sit on the deck relaxing or BBQ'ing dinner. A fire pit in front has seen many a s'more and Blazing Tree Rd and Kingfisher Lane (accessible directly from the property) have been used for many a bike ride or stroll. The surrounding area provides privacy for its residents with an additional 9 acres of common land directly adjacent to the property. An Alpaca Farm heads up the road, with Young's Hill, Mitchell Hill, and English Camp close by. Roche Harbor is a short drive to the north.

Our mixed family of five had all the room we needed plus some. The house had all the comforts of home. Extras in the kitchen made cooking a breeze. The beds were very comfortable. A path down the hill led us to the bay. Great place, easy drive to Roche Harbor.

This was a great house. The view was amazing, the kitchen was well stocked for our group and there were plenty of linens and little extras (TP, paper towels and soaps). Tracy was very responsive and answered all questions and check in info quickly. Should note there are some rustic (but beautiful) stairs to get to the front door so challenging for elderly access. Loved this house and want to come back to the island and stay here again.

6 adults stayed here very comfortably, everything was advertised! Only complaint was the internet speed, but that was also noted by the host before the trip. Luckily one of us had TMobile and the towers there were pretty strong (not ATT or Verizon though). So we tethered through TMobile when needed.

Great house with a very relaxing view of Mitchell Bay and the nature around. Very well equipped kitchen. We hope to come back.

Really great house with everything you need to have a wonderful getaway. Our family of five (3 teens and 2 adults) had plenty of space. Stairs to the front door might be a challenge for older guests and not so easy to get to the water, but we loved everything about this dream home and just appreciated relaxing inside, going into town or hanging out on the deck. Amazing view!!

We had a fantastic stay for a family wedding. The property was very comfortable, quiet, and well equipped. The property owner was very accessible to answer questions that arose during check-in. The property was clean and bright.

My siblings and I took my parents on a surprise 50th Anniversary trip to the San Juan’s. We wanted a unicorn house: a perfect combo of secluded, some water views, enough private bedrooms, ample space to get away, really clean, and reasonably priced. This house fit the bill perfectly. We loved our lazy mornings on the large deck, the nights and mornings cooking together in the kitchen, and the convenience to everything San Juan. While it may not be the most modern or be waterfront, it had the perfect blend of all our most important points when deciding. To get those things; expect to pay much more. Thank you to the host for being easy to communicate with and for all the comfy places to sleep and chill out. Would choose this again in a heartbeat.

This is an excellent vacation rental. Set back from a beautiful bay, surrounded by woods, with a great back deck and all around spacious and comfortable. The host was very clear in communications and all of the details were easy to follow. Would definitely recommend.

We very much wanted to be on this part of San Juan Island as we had a relative who had the Longhouse at Snug Harbor. The house was spacious with plenty of room for the 8 of us to spread out. Nestled in the trees, it was cool. We spent a lot of time on the large deck looking at the water. It was a great place for coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. The house was well appointed with high quality appliances, electronics, and utensils. There was plenty of room on the property for the younger ones to run around safely. There was a fire pit for an evening campfire. This was a perfect place for our get together and even exceeded expectations, which had been quite high. We would certainly stay again on a return to San Juan Island.

Fantastic home nestled away overlooking Mitchell Bay. There were seven of us visiting and although I booked the property, I pulled the short straw and slept on the pullout couch. Extremely comfortable for a pullout!! I slept like a baby. The home is fully furnished down to the basic cooking necessities for preparing meals. Cell phone service and WiFi we had zero issues. Will definitely visit and hopefully book this home again.

Wonderful home with everything you need at the ready. Perfect house for gatherings with 3 sinks in the kitchen/mud room area which makes prep and cleanup for a crowd a breeze. The home was easy to find using their directions, beds were super comfortable, house was immaculate, bathrooms were well placed, deck had a beautiful view, walking path to the dock was easy for all, appliances were new, and internet served us well (not sure what the complaints were about). The home has a great deal of beautiful wood work but is nonetheless light, bright and cheery. Tracy was super easy to work with and quick to respond with questions. We are already talking about booking the house next summer! Big thumbs up from everyone in our group, ages from 29 to 81!

Really amazing house. Very spacious. Beautifully secluded in the woods with views of the water and short walk to the shore. Owner was responsive and helpful. The master suite is very spacious and lovely. The other 2 bedrooms downstairs are nice but just not as nice as master suite and it’s quite a bit cooler in the lower/basement level in case you are looking for absolute equity between bedrooms. Toys and books for the kids. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Absolutely stunning home and location. The views are amazing. Wish we could have stayed longer but have to move on. Don’t miss the Alpacas and San Juan Island Distillery!!

This house was immaculate and well stocked. The beds were very comfortable and linens as well. Facing west, you had beautiful sunsets. Very private. A usable dock an easy walk down the hill. Appreciated the easy check out. Owner very responsive.

The house had been without internet for 2 weeks before we were to arrive . As I was boarding the ferry Tracy informed us. Our Verizon phones barely worked. AT&T not at all. We we’re to stay for 6 days move on to our boat for a weekend & then move back in. We chose to leave after our initial stay. It made it difficult to communicate with family, friends or contact local establishments about their hours, menus etc. Tracy refunded the appropriate amount of money promptly. Maybe short term weekend guests aren’t bothered by the inconvenience.
There was confusion on check in as the info from VRBO was different then what eventually Tracy walked us through.
The house was clean, nicely decorated, & in a beautiful quiet location. But it was advertised as having internet & obviously it had been a problem for sometime.

This is a wonderful home with so many great amenities. Great living space, large deck with western facing view of the water. Comfortable beds, plenty of space to relax and enjoy the best of San Juan. Tracy the host was responsive and friendly. Overall 10/10

Beautiful property and home. Lots of room to hang out - inside and on the large deck. Peaceful and quiet; nice views of Mitchell Bay. Private setting. Plenty of family games. Kids loved the alpaca farm that's right down the road. We had an issue and Tracy was incredibly responsive in working with us. If you're looking for a place to get away from it all - this home is perfect!

We were 8 members of a family from 3 generations. This house was perfect. The one year old enjoyed his freedom on the secure deck. The view of the water and ease of access down to the dock was great. Beds were all comfortable and the house felt cozy yet spacious. We had a problem arise with the hot water tank while there which was an unfortunate happenstance, but the owner was very responsive and helpful. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay.

We had an absolutely wonderful four nights at this home. It was very spacious and clean, and the deck overlooking the bay is amazing. We found everything we could have needed there and it was a great home base for exploring the island. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer!

Simply Stunning
Pictures don’t do this house justice. It’s beautiful. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Kitchen was well stocked and has everything you could possibly need. Bedrooms were nice, beds very comfortable, bathrooms clean and plenty of towels! The views are stunning. We stayed on the back porch as much as possible to take in the scenery. The location is awesome as well. At first it seems you’re going down a dead end road then you come up on this beautiful property! The drive up view is also beautiful! We will absolutely stay here again! My only cons/opinions is to put a smart TV in each bedrooms (there are no TVs in the bedrooms), actually close off the formal dining room and turn it into another bedroom so the house has 4 bedrooms. These are being very picky so please don’t let that be the deciding factor on booking this house. Just book it.. you won’t be disappointed!! Oh, the views from the loft are stunning! The ferry ride from Anacortez was easy and about an hour maybe hour and half long. Beautiful views along the way. I will say you need to make sure you schedule your ferry rides appropriately as they only run certain times on certain days. We didn’t have any issues but you can easily get stuck if you don’t plan your ferry rides. The owner is amazing! Communication was the best I’ve ever had with any rental. I really appreciated all the information! It made things so easy! So thank you!! We can’t wait to come back!

Great retreat on San Juan
Our family enjoyed a peaceful long weekend here. The house is gorgeous, warm, and well stocked with everything we needed. The kids had a fun time finding all the toys around, while the adults enjoyed relaxing by the fireplace.

Very quiet, private, and great view.
This was a great place for our family, with mattresses we could move for the kids and pack and play for the little one. The location is not too far from the main road and provides a very private and quiet place. The view was great through it many large windows. It doesn't provide water frontage, but it was a short walk away. I would readily stay here again.

may consider this as a long term rental property when a longer job is started in the area

House was great! Kitchen was amazing! Wonderful house, very clean and well stocked@

Great house to be secluded.
We rented with the assumption we were on water and could easily access it. That was not the case. We would of like to be able to kayak and use the water. Tv you need an MBA in engineering to turn on.
The grill needed a good cleaning which we had to do to use it. No water pressure in the master bath. Otherwise it has what you need to enjoy your stay. Situated between Roche Harbor and Friday harbor. Easy access to both.

Great time at a great house
We were so pleased with the home...especially the kitchen and dining arrangements. We opted to make our own dinners at the house since the kitchen was so spacious and the dining was so great for hanging out after our meals. Wonderful home.

Beautiful home!
Had everything we needed for a family of 4. Great location mid island near the Alpaca Farm. Serene and lovely place to stay with great beds, linens, and fully stocked kitchen. Only hiccup was the wrong entry instructions were sent but able to reach the owner quickly and gain entrance to the house.

Lovely Stay
This is beautiful property, with amazing views and easy access to the waterfront. Brought our bikes and kayaks, caught crab in Mitchell Bay. Tracy was incredibly responsive. A great place for our family to get away from it all. Don't miss Westcott Bay Shellfish for fantastic oysters and take-home mussels and clams, just a short ride away. Can't recommend this property highly enough.

To begin with, communication with the owner was excellent. I had a few questions upon arrival and she was very quick and very accommodating of our questions and needs. The house is beautiful, the view is spectacular, the location is lovely. We brought a kayak and it was an easy walk down a trail to the water. Our group was three older couples and the house was perfect for us with good beds and enough bathrooms. We didn’t want to leave!

Really pretty location, tons of tall trees surrounding you - really feel private, in the woods. Filtered view of the water through the trees. Huge back deck facing the water - family enjoyed spending time out there. Wish it was possible to walk to the water's edge from the house (there is a way to get to the water, but not directly from the property). Pretty home. Kitchen nicely furnished - not just with pots/pans, but spices, oils, detergents, etc.Appreciated a stash of extra twin mattresses. The pull out couch downstairs in the media room was comfortable enough after adding the memory foam topper that the owners store in the closet. We unfortunately were there during the record-breaking heat storm and the A/C was out. It was a weekend and the owner could not get an A/C company to get out there. We did appreciate the quick communications/replies from the owner about the situation and her refunding 2 of our 3 nights due to the heat. Wish we had heard back from her the last day - a Monday, as we were hoping that an AC company would be able to come out after the weekend was over, but did not hear anything that day.Overall, a really great place to stay if the weather/AC had been okay. Understand it was beyond the owner's control and do appreciate her responsiveness. Highly recommend!

Beautiful location and home
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely waterfront craftsman. The only negative at all was the water pressure for the showers. The deck and the firepit more than made up for it. Otherwise we would gladly stay here again.
