Tires need to be properly inflated and the tread must be in excellent condition. Always carry tire chains, even if driving an AWD/4WD vehicle. Make sure the chains are the proper size for your tires and are in working order. You may find valuable winter driving tips from the CHP here: https://bit.ly/3IKiY7n

Great cabin for a multigenerational family stay over the 4th of July.

We had five adult men stay to enjoy your house with a beautiful kitchen, pool table, living room, fireplace, deck and hot tub. The house was very comfortable and all amenities were there when we looked for them.
We would highly recommend staying at your house and would definitely seek to stay there again.
Thanks for a great stay!

This property is well appointed, clean and comfortable for a perfect vacation base. Listing is accurate and the home is obviously well cared for. Having stayed in several homes in the area, this has been a favorite and best in terms of cleanliness and well appointed kitchen.

Beautiful home. I can confidently say it's a gem.
The interior of the home was a haven of comfort. The carefully chosen decor and furnishings created a warm and inviting atmosphere. It was evident that the owners had poured their hearts into making it a cozy retreat. The spacious living area with its large stone fireplace was particularly inviting and perfect for relaxing after a day of outdoor adventures.
I highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable and comfortable retreat.

Great time in this roomy place with our whole family! Still some snow which made it even better!!!

My review is really in 2 parts, first part is about the house itself and the second is in regards to the management company Tahoe Luxury Properties. Both were outstanding, if you decide not to read on!
The description of the house on VRBO is spot on. You can tell the owners take a lot of pride in their property as the furniture and furnishings, including the art, invoke authentic Tahoe. I love to feel like I’m in a mountain lodge and every detail in this house captures that. Its location is on Swiss Lane, which is arguably the most beautiful street in Tahoe Donner. The house was spacious, clean, laid out well, and had all the kitchen amenities you could want. The bunk room was a hit with the two kids, their own tv to game on and watch TV, with its own fridge and sink for cold drinks and water. Another hit was the upstairs social space that has a nice chess table and pool table. The garage was made available to us which was appreciated and a giant plus, as it snowed while we were there. Which brings me to the property management company, Tahoe Luxury Properties. The amount of snow in Truckee when we arrived is almost incomprehensible for San Diegans like us. We all brought our bathing suites for the jacuzzi, but on the drive up I kept thinking there is no way anyone could have dug out the jacuzzi. Or the BBQ grill. And much to my amazement, the driveway was perfectly accessible as well as the stairs to the front door. And lo and behold, the jacuzzi and BBQ were surrounded with giant walls of snow, but ready for our arrival. Unfortunately after a blue bird day at Northstar on our first day, the winter storm warnings started up. The property management company reached out to me to let me know that the roads and freeways were likely to close and we would likely be stuck. My family and another couple decided to leave a day early as we had work obligations that Monday. One couple decided to leave a little later and made it to the end of the driveway, That’s as far as they got! The neighborhood HOA does a great job of snow removal on the roads, but there are only so many plows and lots of homes. As such our friends got stuck for about 24 hours beyond our check out time. Tahoe Luxury Properties and the owners were more than gracious in allowing the stranded couple to stay at no extra expense! We were blown away by this. We come to Truckee/Tahoe quite often , and we hope to stay this beautiful house again!

We had a very relaxing time here! Very clean, lots of room to spread out, and there was a good sized yard where the kids could play in the snow. Hot tub was in great working order and so nice after a day in the snow! We were very happy with our stay and would come again.

We are return visitors to this lovely property and enjoyed it very much for our Thanksgiving holidays! it's a big and luxurious cabin for our group of family, friends and dogs. The upstairs room and landing are perfect for our teenagers and the glorious winter mornings in the downstairs cannot be beat. The fireplace is such a wonderful addition - a hearth you can actually sit on and warm yourself by - incredible and memorable. Thank you for welcoming us again , we hope to return.

Great stay, amazing property
We stayed for a family gathering. Had a blast sledding with the kids & they had fun playing in the snow in the yard. The management company was esp. great to work with & accommodated our request for a late checkout when my wife and I got food poisoning on our last 2 days of our trip. House was precisely as it was in the listing, loved the open floor plan & lots of amenities esp. the fireplace & pool table. The only issue we had was the hot tub seemed a bit low when we first used it but luckily there was a hose nearby to add a bit of water. Would love to stay here again if the opportunity allows.

Family Friendly Retreat
We loved our stay in Tahoe Donner! We were a group of 4 couples with 2 toddlers and 2 infants. The house had plenty of space for everyone to relax, play and enjoy good meals and even some quiet time (hard to come by with 3 year olds). The bedroom set up wasn’t the most ideal for 4 couples (double beds and bunk rooms) but everyone knew what they were getting into and we made it work.
The house was extremely equipped from the all season sleds, bikes and lake play gear to the kitchen that clearly was set up for groups that like to cook. We felt like the owners must enjoy the space often because it was equipped enough to feel like you were in your own kitchen.
The upstairs rec room and loft were great play zones (would probably be even more ideal for teens) and the deck made the most ideal enclosed snow play area for our little ones.
The hot tub was amazing, although the water was fully changed out the same day we arrived so it was cold and unusable until the following morning. Just something to be aware of for the avid hot rubbers like my husband!
Overall we would absolutely rent this house again and look forward to doing so!

Great Stay!
My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Lodge very much. The lodge was clean and spacious with plenty of room and lots of things to do. I did however noticed that there were no locks on any of the doors (bedrooms and bathrooms). Also, I wished there were window treatment/blinds in the master bathroom (small window above the tub), which is downstairs. In addition, we couldn't locate a dust pan and the vacumn did not work properly. That did not stop us from enjoying our stay. The property management was great and a pleasure to work with and was easy to contact. Will definitely be returning.

Roomy and upscale!
Our family of friends greatly enjoyed our Thanksgiving week at the Lodge. Very spacious cabin with ample bedrooms/bathrooms and gathering areas. Beds were all comfortable and well appointed which is a plus! Loved the open plan kitchen to downstairs living space and the grand fireplace. Great and easy location in Tahoe Donner which we love. The Man Cave was excellent for our teens and we all enjoyed the loft space with pool table for quick games and as a workout area. Thank you for the kitchen /dining touches - we used the table linens for our feast and enjoyed it all. Couple of items to note: The upstairs bathroom pocket door slides shut and lock on it's own if it's not stopped (we figured out how to work around it ), the oven did seem to not heat to it's fullest when we baked casseroles ( though it all worked eventually) and downstairs tv remote was wonky - super hard to use and the tv would go black for a few moments when changing channels/inputs (it's not a huge TV like the one upstairs which is ok but an upgrade would suit the otherwise luxurious surroundings!). Minor notes to an overall grand experience - we hope to return!

Better Than Expected
Better than expected! Beautiful house, perfectly designed, awesome neighborhood. So quiet! Every detail was thought of and "mountain" design was done perfectly. Loved that we could have our girl, Shasta, (black lab) with us! Also, although we didn't get a chance to use it, loved the concierge service and loved access to Tahoe Donner amenities.

Enjoyable
Your home is perfect home for families interested in doing a lot on vacation as it has a very good location with much to offer. We enjoyed "Truckee Thursdays;" we visited Lake Tahoe, Northstar, Squaw Valley and Reno (to check out the casinos one night). We could have used more counter space in the kitchen at the home, as we make large meals, but the design was sufficient for our needs for just a week, also considering we ate out a lot. Overall your home is spacious and outfitted nicely. We had a very enjoyable vacation here.

good family home
This home had all we needed for our family to have a nice vacation: well stocked kitchen, entertainment features such as the pool table and hot tub, HOA access. We used the HOA passes to enjoy the private section of Donner Lake and the swimming pool at Trout Creek a few times. We appreciated the guest book and the check-in call from the management company to see how we were doing. All was good the entire time. We would return to this home should we hopefully vacation in Tahoe again. Thank you.

Beautiful Mountain Home
This was simply a beautiful home!! We loved the open floor plan and the feeling that you were amongst the pines - both while indoors and outdoors. The house was ideal for us as we had 6 kids in the group - the bunk room/upstairs loft/family room entertained them perfectly!! Most importantly, we were very surprised when we arrived at how clean and lovely the house really was - in the past, photos have made some vacation homes appear really fabulous online, only to have the house be dated when we arrived. That was NOT the case with this house! It was exactly as it appeared online - maybe even better. We would definitely rent this home again!
