Great location, secure, and it’s a pub!

There isn’t any free customer parking. You have to use the large pay and display car park at the back, which charges until 10pm.

Lovely room, beautiful food, Steep prices, Watch the staff with your belongings

Love the little extra touches in the room like the robes and the lovely handwash. The small radiator was perfect for keeping my room toastie. Loved the menu in the pub and the hot chocolate was to die for but the prices were a bit steep.

I left my charger in the room, I know I definitely left it there because I had it ready to go. When I got home and phoned up to put it aside for me to collect it had miraculously gone missing... I know it was the cleaner. As a 'good will' they said they had a spare one for me to collect so I drove all the way back for them to give me a broken charger (more likely the lady's charger she had exchanged with mine) 😆 Anyway the room was lovely and clean and the breakfast was beautiful but the prices were too steep for me to dine in the pub for dinner.

Stayed for 2 nights with my Mini Scnauzer, Buddy. Lovely accommodation and bar area at the top of Maldon’s High Street.

The White Horse is an amazing building. Obviously centuries old but sympathetically fitted out so as not to change the character. Full of charm!

Fabulous breakfast in friendly, buzzy pub.

It was a friendly, happy place where we stayed on Friday night. They had music in the bar and we stayed to enjoy the vibe which was an unexpected treat. The room was well appointed and ideal for our short break, right in the middle of the town centre. The breakfast was fabulous....a treat and will encourage us to stay again!

With no parking on site, we used the large pay and display car park which is very close. We arrived late and didn't need to pay until the morning so it wasn't a big issue

Comfortable, fresh feeling newly decorated room. Contemporary design in old building but worked well. Staff were all lovely

being a room over a pub there was a bit of noise but it certainly wasn't a rowdy pub. having to get up and pay for parking at 8am wasn't great, but if i'd managed to work the app out it wouldn't have been necessary to get up.

it was a hot few days admittedly but the window didn’t open properly and the fan didn’t make the room cool enough. the central light fitting is also a hazard for reasonably tall people!! street was also very noisy at night

Perfect for our needs

Friendly welcome. Clean, comfortable, spacious room. Secure storage for bikes (although not under cover).

a perfect location for a wedding at the church opposite but bring ear plugs

A really charming bar and absolutely delightful and helpful staff. Our stay was ruined by the late night noise from a local bar. When the music stopped we were then kept away by the noise of a pump going on and off for the rest of the night.

Superb

Deluxe Double Room was great. Plenty of space with large bed and also big sofa/sitting area. We were in Maldon for a wedding so didnt spend too much time in the room but we loved the room. Staff were friendly and helped us with a request to check in an hour early.

Received an email from the Hotel the day before our stay saying that original payment had been rejected. When enquired it was actually that Booking.com hadnt sent the money over to the hotel (i had booked just before an ownership change). Told to call Booking.com to sort and spent approx 20-25 ?mins on hold. In my opinion this should have been for Booking.com and the Hotel to sort internally. All above being said, this would not stop me from booking this hotel again.

Exceptional

Great location at the top end of the High Street. Room No 1 was well appointed. 2 single beds and plenty of room for clothes and case. Decoration of the room was great quality, wooden polished floors, big TV, open wardrobe and nespresso machine. Bathroom is clean and shower is warm. Soft fluffy towels and bathrobes. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast is amazing and very generous. I had weetabix, coffee and eggs benedict. Staff are so friendly and really care about their hotel and its success.
