Another excellent 1 month stay at Fred's cottage. Wonderful setting and a convenient location in Houston. Fred is a fantastic host.

Fred’s cottage is perfect! It is beautifully decorated. The patio is incredibly relaxing. There were soft drinks, beer, wine, snacks. (Amazing!). The location is ideal… you can walk to museums, restaurants, Hermann Park. Or even take a quick train ride to NRG stadium. Everything about it is fabulous! Highly recommend!!!

We felt right at home in this exceptionally comfortable and charming cottage. Love this property, loved the feel of it, the garden, the fabulous location. Very comfortable beds and bedding and tasteful decor. We had everything we needed and didn’t want to leave. Our host was extremely responsive, helpful and considerate.

Fred's cottage is a perfect location to see all that the Museum District has to offer. Although the weather did not allow us to enjoy it as much as we would have liked, the backyard is a quiet haven to sit back and enjoy, all the while the dogs enjoy exploring the yard. Fred was a gracious host, leaving many treats for us to enjoy. I would highly recommend.

This is a great property, exactly as described and pictured. We stayed for almost 4 weeks. Very well equipped kitchen and very comfortable surroundings both inside and outside in the large garden. Hosts are excellent. Lots of things to do, all within walking distance or a very short drive. A great stay.

The cottage is spacious, yet cozy. Tastefully decorated. Well equipped kitchen for both casual dining and an organized feast. The fenced garden area felt private and lush.
The cottage is located in a beautiful residential neighborhood, but only minutes to shopping, restaurants and a major freeway.
The bed was comfy. The bedding felt luxe. I slept great!
Fred was a wonderful host. Communication was great and I had no doubt he’d be available to answer any question or address any concern. The welcome gift of wine and snacks was very much appreciated.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this quaint cottage and I look forward to a return visit.

Not to be weird but we are no strangers to short-term rentals. We own one and we’ve stayed in so many over the years from Milan to Sicily, New York to California so I hope you will believe me when I say if you are going to Houston, Fred's cottage is the PERFECT place to stay...especially if you are accompanied by your four-legged family members and need to be central. I honestly rate this rental on par with a charming apartment in the heart of Florence or a beach bungalow in Malibu. Seriously.
It is centrally located in a vibrant and beautiful neighborhood, walking distance to so many of Houston’s top museums and a hop away from so many restaurants/pubs. It is an easy jump to almost anywhere in Houston as it is close to freeway access.
It is an oasis. Tucked into a lush garden with secure gates, it makes you feel as if you were at some countryside estate. Yet, you are not…you are in downtown Houston!
It was comfortable and more-than spacious…much bigger than we anticipated. The ambiance is homey and well appointed--straight out of a page from Architectural Digest. I could have spent days happily thumbing through the hundreds of art books, literature and architecture/interiors books at hand.
For our short stay of 2 nights, we did not need to cook but the kitchen was perfectly stocked in case we did want to cook or entertain. There is a large round table to sit your guests around inside as well as a grill and umbrella’d dining area on the porch…along with a quaint seating area that, if it were not the summer, we would have LOVED to have enjoyed our coffee and breakfast.
The bed was very comfortable with high-end, soft sheets, a variety of pillows and crisp blankets. There were ample towels for both us AND our dog.
Most of all, Fred was the consummate host. He was prompt, communicative and generous. We had been on the road so the multitude of snacks awaiting our arrival was very appreciated…nuts, bread, cheese, crackers, chips, yogurt, fruit, bottled water and a yummy bottle of wine!
You cannot go wrong booking this cottage and enjoying the sweet ambiance, peaceful neighborhood and easy access. THANK YOU FRED!!

Fred was a great and gracious host - very helpful and accommodating. The house looked just like the pictures and was furnished with comfortable furniture. It felt more like staying at a friend's house than a VRBO. It also was located in a nice and convenient neighborhood. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay while in Houston.

Comfortable and charming 1920’s Hampton style cottage located in the heart of the Museum District & steps away from Hermann Park. Upscale, very walkable neighborhood, with friendly neighbors, close to top rated restaurants and outside bars & bbq, everything to suit your tastes.
If you’re looking for a quite and private place to find inner peace this is the perfect space. Well stocked with quality products, luxurious feather down pillows & extra deep feather down couches, the host truly thought of everything you could possibly need. The cottage is nestled behind secure iron ivy laced gates opening to a private garden with outdoor seating & dining space (wonderful for morning yoga). The property allows you to feel like you are stepping out of the city & into quiet peaceful serenity. My favorite part... a stunning floor to ceiling brick, wood burning fire place, that is the center point of the large open living and dining area.
Gracious host offers you complete privacy with fast responses to any questions or needs & accessibility to services of a luxury hotel. Sweet babies (dogs) at the main historic home are kept separate from the cottage space unless you request a meeting.
If you’re visiting Houston or a local who just wants an escape from the chaos to find some peace and quiet this stunning cottage is definitely a must stay!!
