Location for places I was visiting was good
Walls were really thin could hear everything, housekeeping obviously weren't informed of check outs as I was there Friday till Monday I had them knock on my door each day and ask me when I was checking out this was inconvenient for me as I was staying here whilst doing paranormal investigations locally so wasn't able to sleep in. The room I was given was warm so had to have window open this meant when staff went on smoke breaks I got smell of cigarettes in room and could hear them talking too.

Nice Pub/ restaurant with rooms. Food was very good. The bed was very comfortable and firm. Had a great nights sleep.
The view out of my room was a fence. There was a draw missing from the chest of drawers. Found an iron but no ironing board.

Value for money. Newly fitted bathroom. Clean sheets and towels
The rooms are very tired, with broken furniture. ‘Vintage’ carpets and curtains. The fast boil kettle flips its lid so boiling hot steam shoots out. I had mentioned this fault in another room when I stayed there a few weeks ago so didn’t bother reporting it this time. The bed was comfortable but the pillows are flat as pancakes.

Car park, Comfortable (single) room. Warm on a cold evening. Wifi and TV in room. Food in restaurant well prepared and not too expensive. Good price for short notice booking
Reception not manned and had to look for the service. Coffee making facilities in room not all that good (Room 6). Biggest drawback was no breakfast facilities.

the manager was great at sorting out the radiators that were not working when we got there. staff were very good and the bathroom was really nice and clean . the food in the restaurant was very good too.
missing draws and n room. wall pictures on floor . absolutely no sound proofing! we could hear every step made by the people above us. we could even hear them snoring. we could hear every time doors shut and people going up and down stairs. Our room overlooked what could only be described as a junk yard too and there was no heating on in the room on our arrival, so both our room and the hallway were very cold, however the manager did endeavoured to get it working eventually. the beds were two twins put together, which is ok if there is something used to stop them separating. we ended up with a four inch gap between the beds in the morning.

The food was excellent. It was perfect for a one night stay for us. Lots of parking at the back and staff were friendly.
The bathroom door didn't open properly and a draw was missing in the desk. The kettle was a little scary!

Large comfortable rooms and very reasonable. Attending a family party nearby so ideal location and they also found us a table for dinner last minute which was great.
The check in/out process was a bit strange. You were also in the restaurant checking in space and it took a long time compared to a normal check-in so big queues then formed in a small space of people also waiting to be shown to their tables. There was no check out and we weren’t even sure where to leave the room passes. Would have been good if breakfast was available to buy as we would have definitely had it.

Griffin pub one of best in St Helens. Good vibe & range of drinks. Pub grub known to be good. as someone who is originally from St Helens and still have family there, always enjoyed that part.
Hotel room was tiny. Not even space for bedside cabinet on one side of double bed. WiFi was for use of everyone in pub, and weak signal didn’t even carry to our room.
No breakfast option.
This is ok for a quick stop over if needed but not in same league as for example a Premier Inn, and price is probably double their rate.
