It was very large and roomy for a large family. Joyed being able to all sit at the table and talk or yell! 🤣🤣
3.6
Held an employee retreat with training and catering. We had 30 guests with 26 who stayed. Most were comfortable with their sleeping arrangements. The older you are the harder to top bunk it. loved that most rooms, all but 3 had their own bathroom. Lots space for training and fun. Close to Depot Bay tourist area/restaurants and easy for the caterers to find. Did not hear much road traffic. The home is privately situated for perfect fire pit time and jacuzzi. Don't judge a book by its cover. The outside does not reflect the inside. We will stay here again and again.
3.6
Location is close to Lincoln city, great house for a big family. Enjoyed time here
3.6
Loved the capacity, kitchen, and parking! Everything was perfect and better than listed. Only thing I would have wanted to see was some sort of cleaner since we stayed there for two nights and had a spill.
3.6
Loved the location it was perfect for all of our activities. That being said, there was some cleanliness issues that I was disappointed to see.
3.6
Need some compensation for all of the cleaning and preparing we had to do for this house to be ready for our group of twenty. House fit us well but it was not ready when we arrived and nobody came to help with the situation.
3.6
The house was very spacious. It lacks stuff like frying pans cookie sheets etc. We had to call multiple times to bring dishwasher soap toilet paper and garbage bags. The hot tub doesn't work very well. The rooms are great though
3.6
Enough private rooms
3.6
Great price... Things you need to leave more of. Garbage sacks.(We had to buy our own) We also had only one tablet of dishwashing liquid. With a large group at least 6. We enjoyed The pool table, and ping pong. Two dishwashers and two refrigerators is so nice. We appreciated the price the size and the bathroom. Seriously a 9. Thank you.
3.6
The property worked really well for our large group. The house is not as large as it would seem to be considering the amount of people it holds. There was enough space for everyone but no gathering area except around the very long and lovely table.
3.6
I already submitted a review for this property a while ago, but I received a link to submit a review AGAIN....I can't seem to use the VRBO portal to communicate with the VACASA team to find out if I can receive my cleaning deposit back, but when we had to wash every dish before cooking or eating off of it...not great!
The positives of this house: the main dining table. Great for games and family meals/activities. I also liked that most bedrooms had on suite bathrooms - nice perk! The location within walking distance from whale watching and Depoe Bay shops is great.
The downside is that this house is in serious upkeep. Paint, worn EVERYTHING, the hot tub was spewing water from the "waterfall" feature and wouldn't stay hot.
I have had good luck with other VACASA homes, but this one was not great and I was embarrassed to host my family there. May I please have my cleaning deposit back? I cleaned several dishes....plus had to hunt down supplies that I would have thought standard in a house....like a can opener.
I would not recommend this house.
3.6
That there were enough bedrooms and bathrooms
3.6
We loved how it fit us all comfortably and it was warm and no fighting over bathrooms or space. It was a great place for us since we have lots of kids.
3.6
It didn’t leak.
The bathrooms were clean.
It was vacuumed
3.6
Desperately needs new carpet in the whole house. Or take all carpet out and replace with laminate flooring. Carpets are gross. Needs a second refrigerator. Airflow in house is terrible. House is to hot at all times. Otherwise would be a great place.
3.6
The main issue is that it was listed for 40 people, but the hide-a-beds were broken and unuseable. I sent pictures to Vrbo, but no response. Expensive, puffed.
3.6
Overall the property was very nice. We loved the long table we could all sit down together and eat. The carpets were very dirty and they should be cleaned on a regular basis. They need another refrigerator. One wasn't enough for our group of 35. Disappointed there wasn't a huge TV set up with a DVD player for a movie. We brought movies but didn't want to buy a DVD player. We liked the individual rooms and shower options. They need to fix doors so they lock and shut properly (not all do) and they were short on laundry detergent and garbage sacks. But I would rent again from them, just would be nicer if they added a few things to the house.
3.6
We had a great time and a great stay!
3.6
Yes the table is big. House was musty, ceiling had water damage from bathroom above it. Carpets were in terrible shape, stained and coming apart. Kitchen was very small. Some of the beds were so old you can feel the springs. Chairs and couches upstairs were worn out and very uncomfortable. There was no TV in the main rooms. Pool table should be put out of its misery. Ping pong table was fun. Would have been better if the paddles were not falling apart. We do not recommend a stay in this house. Photos are very misleading.

When we first booked this house the
pictures online showed a clean and
comfortable place for our family reunion.
The house was not at all what we expected. The carpet (especially stairs) are stained, there are tears in the carpet with the pad showing. Our 5 year old daughter had black feet from walking around bare foot in the house. Ceiling fans are broken with missing blades. There is noticeable damage to the interior walls. There is a loose vertical stair rail. Half of the televisions did not work and neither did the Wi-Fi. We were able to get someone out to repair the Wi-Fi after calling a couple of times. The games tables are in need of repair as well. The cloth furniture has not been updated and there is a sofa chair on on the first level that is leaning against the wall with a broken leg. Our 90 year-old grandmother almost fell out of it. The hot tub was clean the first night we were there and then had an odor and was milky the days after. While there was plenty of room for our family the price we paid was not to stay in a frat house and was not what expected.
3.6
I must say that I was hesitant about this house after reading the previous reviews and it was well founded. The house had a well stocked kitchen which was nice since we were making Thanksgiving dinner for a large family gathering. The large table was perfect for our dinner. The beds were comfortable and the house had plenty of room for us. The pool and ping pong tables were nice to have. Those were the positives... the negatives are that the house is run down and needs more updating. The downstairs main area has new floors and the kitchen is slightly updated but the carpets are filthy, the walls are dinged and could use fresh paint and the furniture is worn out except for the main large table. For such a large house it could use a second refrigerator. The hot tub worked fine, it's just not in a very nice setting. There isn't any nice outdoor space at the house. The house would be great for a bachelor party with all of the games and you wouldn't need to worry about ruining the carpets or walls! The house was basically clean, just worn out and tired. I would not rent it again as it is now. Depoe Bay is a beautiful location though!
3.6
We were nervous about the house's cleanliness due to previous reviews, but the place was clean when we got there. Good home for big groups but some things definitely could use some maintenance such as some of the door locks don’t work, and the oven doesn’t seem to work. But overall, we were content that the house could fit 36 people.
3.6
This house needs new paint and new carpet- even the best elbow grease can’t clean it. It’s very run down. The kitchen cabinets are also falling apart. The washer flooded and didn’t work. I have tried calling the phone number with no success for help. This house could be really nice with paint and carpet. It’s sad that it is so run down. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and the beds were clean and good. The carpet on the stairs needs replaced badly.
3.6
The house is a good size for large groups with almost every room having it’s own bathroom & large table for everyone to gather. The house needs a lot of repairs, carpet needs replacing, pool table is in disrepair, barstool broken, lounge chair leg broken. Shower curtains need replacing, spiders in showers, hide-a-bed broken and no sheets provided. The house needs a lounge space, no real couches, have to use dining area for hang out space. The hot tub could use a cover. There is no access to the beach as the listing describes. The oven needs the burners on to heat quickly otherwise it takes too long to preheat. All in all it worked for our group of families but could definitely use some updating.
3.6
So when we first got there the code wouldn't work, it took over an hour to get in. Then when we did the oven still had oven cleaner in it and the top of the stove was dirty. One of the upstairs showers leaked to the downstairs one. The carpets looked like they hadn't been shampood in a while. The dryer vent torn straps on a bra and shirt. There was mold in one of the bedroom floors. The size was great for the group we had and the game room was awesome.
3.6
The accommodations were great for our needs.
3.6
This was by far a bait and switch! I wish I could post photos! There was a huge whole in. The ceiling of one of the showers with mold it was horrible! The carpets were nasty they were so gross. There was a chair upstairs in the game room and it smelled of urine! They only provided 1 pod for dishwashing and we had to ask them to bring us more. The pull out bed upstairs was broken, it’s just horrible. I expressed my concern and let the vendor know it was deplorable and I would never put anyone at his location in the future. Absolutely ridiculous if I could upload photos i would:
3.6
it is a nice place, walkable to the beach, and in short range to other places.
we hope the bathroom could be better arranged. some rooms has no access to bathroom and needed to share the public one.
3.6
We would stay here again. BUT, this property is not well maintained. Inside and outside it is run down. It was ok for our group, we had lots of small children and if everything had been immaculate we would have been uncomfortable. But, carpets were badly stained, things smelled funny, mattresses were very old/worn, touch up paint that didn't match, broken ceiling fans, dirty dishes in cabinets, burned out lights bulbs, broiler didn't work on oven and more. It felt more like a youth camp facility than a vacation home. Anyone renting this property needs to be prepared for what they are getting.
3.6
The property was ok, it worked well for our group. House was "well used" feeling, not terrible but not clean or well cared for.

Hello,
We stayed at this property in July as a weekend to spend time with friends and relax. This isn’t the type of rental for that. There isn’t a living room space, just one great hall type room with 2 giant tables. The bedrooms were all ringed around that on both floors. There was a small area with a couch upstairs but nothing that could entertain a large group. It is serviceable if people just want a bedroom and bath to themselves and don’t want to chill in a living room with others. The carpet was so dirty we all kept our shoes on, and the fridge food was warm because it couldn’t handle cooling off food for a group our size ( 13 of us). The hot tub is in the parking lot. I think this place is good for some things but to spend 2600 per night just wasn’t worth it.
3.6
We really enjoyed our stay, but didn't spend alot of time just at the house. Having so many bedrooms with their own bathroom was a real plus. Also the big table was great for meal times. The house isn't fancy, but it was nice not to have to worry about the children ruining alot of decorations. The washer wasn't working while we were there so that was disappointing. Also the freezer didn't seem to freeze terribly well. But considering everything, we would still rent again!
3.6
We enjoyed having several bedrooms. Lots of bathrooms is nice bonus. Big table area with plenty of chairs was great for gathering. Cleaners did a nice job getting it ready for us.

I have to be honest, I was VERY worried about the condition of this home after reading the reviews about things being filthy, smelly, and broken, but we were pleasantly surprised with the overall condition. We had a large group of about 30 including 10 kids and a dog. For our purposes, it was great! Everyone had a nice bed, everything felt clean. Floors were clean, bathrooms were clean, hot tub was working/clean, and the kitchen was clean. All gaming supplies were available and in working order. There were a few missing pool balls but there were lots of extras so we had enough to fill in. The table itself has seen better days but it got the job done, we had a blast playing. Ping pong was awesome!! It is true, walls were a bit stained and scuffed but to be honest, we were fine with that since we had so many kids running around. The only other downside is that it only had one, medium sized fridge. With a group our size staying for a long weekend, it was bursting!! Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed our stay at the Whale's Spout. I definitely recommend this for large families or groups. We loved the recreation area and the large dining room table. The table was big enough to seat our group of 18 people comfortably. We also liked the number of rooms in the house. I would stay at this location again. Two thumbs up.

This place has the potential to be really great. After booking in November, then seeing the most recent reviews, I was really concerned about the cleanliness and functionality of the property. When we arrived the house was clean on the surface, but there are definitely parts that are very dirty. The doors were dirty, the walls were dirty and need repainted, one fan had probably a 1/4 inch of dust and grime on it, and the nooks and crannies were dirty, but all the useable surfaces were clean. The bathrooms were clean (no mold in sight) and the bedding was clean. The hot tub was also drained and refilled before our visit and the pool table, foosball table, and ping pong table were all in working order when we were there (unlike what other guests reviewed). There was also more than enough bedding and towels for everyone.
The most frustrating thing about this property was actually communication with the host. This property is managed by Vacasa, so anytime I needed something I had to call their call center, sit on hold for 10+ minutes, then talk to a representative. They didn't answer a single one of my messages. This was extremely frustrating. Also, the door code they gave us was wrong, so it took about 20 minutes to check in, after having to call Vacasa once again.
The property itself is "fake fancy". It's definitely not as nice as the pictures, but totally adequate. Don't stay here if you're looking for something luxurious, but if you just need lots of beds and a bunch of tiny bathrooms, then this is the place for you. The kitchen is somewhat well equipped, but small and the rooms are all very very basic.
Overall, we had a great time, but make sure you have the right expectations going in. This isn't a dream home and you won't be allured by the quality furniture or nice touches, but if you have a big group (we had a group of 25 women) it will fit you all.
