About this villa rental
Casa Sagitario is a beautifully finished substantial property, a very well appointed house sitting privately towards the end of a cul de sac directly overlooking the picturesque Gavarres hills. Electronically operated gates enclose the house at the front. All bedrooms have air conditioning (free of charge) this is preset to 24 degrees & all with en suite bathrooms. Private garden & pool design means that impressive rural views can be seen from the secluded garden and pool area. The terrace an ideal spot in which to relax after dinner or enjoy a drink whilst watching the children playing in the private pool. Attractive decorative touches and smart furnishings have been added with the result being a bright and welcoming property with a well -equipped kitchen, perfect for making self catering a pleasure. It's immaculate landscaped garden with lawn, mature trees and shrubs. Due to the location of the villa a car is needed. The village of Calonge close to the beautiful Les Gavarres nature reserve has several good restaurants, (5 minute drive) whilst within a 15 minute drive you will find the old town of Palafrugell and the pretty cove beaches of Llafranc and calella.

One of the best villas we have stayed in. Suitable and enough space for all ages. The outside space was great for our 2 year old grandson, safe and secure and lots of shaded areas to keep out of the sun. Communication from Karen was great.

The pool area is amazing and the views from the villa were lovely.

We had a great time during our vacation at Casa Sagitario! Communication with Karen and Janice (the house manager) was good. My family enjoyed the pool and the different outdoor seating spaces to enjoy a meal or a drink. kids love to play soccer or just run around the grass area.

We have stayed at many holiday homes over the years and this is by far the best. It has everything you need and the mosi screens are great. I am mosi food but only got 2 this year and one was in Girona. The kids love the pool and table tennis and having lots of Barbecues. Karen is close at hand if you need anything. We be back next year.

Comfortable family stay with 7 adults
The property is well maintained and very well equipped with lots of kitchen supplies. The pool is pretty much the centrepiece and we spent lost of time in the comfortable poolside beds. All rooms are airconditioned and once you figure out the setup, the rooms are cool and comfortable to sleep in.
The road leading to the area that the house sits in does need some fixing. Upon arrival the potholes were bad, and luckily they were temporarily field up during our stay.
If our holiday plans bring us back to this area, this villa will certainly be on our list.

Amazing Stay
Does everything it says on the tin and more. Every amenity required in the house, big TV with Netflix and Amazon built in (live saver in evening with 4 kids)
Washing machine dishwasher, BBQ. Plenty of sun beds, loads of tables to eat/drink. Excellent clean swimming pool. Area felt very safe. Air con in all rooms. I’m writing this the day we left and writing about it all is making me miss it now. I can’t think what more we could want from a villa, ticked all the boxes you could want.
Finally I have to say how amazing Karen the manager was, met us on our first day to go over any thing we may require. She also arranged for the taxi for our return to the airport (4am in the morning) which arrived early and ensured we didn’t have stress of trying to organise ourselves and end up booking for 4pm :-))). She made contact during stay via message if anything we needed, felt supported if we had any concerns.
Only downside was you can’t find Blackcurrant cordial anywhere 😂😂😂

Beautiful villa but approach roads need attention!
We travelled as three couples and chose this particular villa because each bedroom has its own bathroom. Apart from the lack of air conditioning, which we understand is to be installed in the coming year, the villa itself cannot be faulted. It's every bit as good as the photos suggest and very well equipped. We were slightly disappointed that the local town and closest restaurants were not within easy walking distance and have to say that Calonge was much quieter than we anticipated. We ended up eating in every night which was no hardship given the facilities and the fabulous views from the terrace.
The main problem we found was the approach roads that lead from the main road into the mas (estate). If you think we have problems with potholes in the U.K., you've seen nothing compared to these! We drove our own car to Spain and our friends hired a car from the airport (car essential) and we all had concerns about the state of the underside of our respective cars.
We used the local beach at Can Cristus, less than 10 minutes away by car, and were pleasantly surprised to find free parking and a beach that wasn't too busy. It's certainly a fantastically scenic coastline. Lots of places to visit, from Girona (a very helpful Karen was on hand to advise us on parking) to Pals, Peratallada and La Bisbal (for pottery buying). Yes would definitely recommend this villa but drive carefully!

Arriving at this villa left us with our mouths wide open, we really could believe it! What a find, so peaceful, & in August! We have visited this area for the last 9 years & finally found a villa that is to our standards, very comfortable beds, spacious bedrooms, all en suite, it was so nice for us all to have our own bathrooms!! Very well equipped kitchen, large living room, and the outside has plenty of shade , immaculate garden, which all lights up in the evening to create a real film star feeling. We had amazing weather, hot, just like we wanted, a big swimming pool, which was great for all the family, large shallow play area for ball games. We visited the nearby village of Calonge, loved the medieval castle, and also tried lots of the local restaurants. The nearby beaches were great, the coves between Calonge and Platja daro were our favourite for snorkelling. Theres a great information book at the villa, that was extremely useful, and made things so much easier for us. Now that weve found the perfect villa, we will be back!

Calonge itself is a sleepy town but there are a small number of decent shops, supermarkets and bars. Its also well placed for some lovely beaches - mostly busy but some quiet ones south of LEstartit. Girona is definitely worth a visit as are the Greek / Roman remains at Ampurias.The only downside of the property is that it could do with some air conditioning. A lovely family house
We enjoyed our stay very much and the kids loved the pool. The kitchen was so well equipped and the villa was spotless on our arrival. There were so much to see and do in the area too. We had a couple of niggles though - why not some re-cycling bins or even one bin with a lid? Guess it must be Homeaway policy, but really one dishwasher tablet and binbag! No toilet rolls? We bought all the aforementioned and because we were driving were able to take all that remained back with us. I am sure those who are flying must leave their excess - so what happens to it? It was a bit tricky too with 3 sets of adults - one of the twin rooms had pretty rickety beds. Karen sorted out the oven but then, through no fault of hers, the pool lights went out of sync and we had a couple of days with cold water only in the downstair bathrooms.
She is a real treasure. Approachable and really kind, especially about ensuring the baby had a good cot. But it would be helpful to have some basic instructions about the house on paper, including the wifi code, in case she is not available. We stress that these niggles failed to spoil a lovely holiday but they could be so easily remedied for the future.

We were welcolmed and the owner was very available if we needed. The villa is huge, very clean and well equipped (barbecue, baby toys, dishwasher...). We could enjoy the beautiful pool with our baby and the beautiful garden.

Excellent Holiday Villa
What an amazing villa, it had everything we needed, a real home from home. 10 out of 10 for the location, set in such beautiful surroundings, perfectly clean, an impeccable garden, just faultless! We still can’t believe our luck, at choosing this property, passing many a fantastic moment with the family, the table tennis, the pool…everything catered for. This was our third villa holiday, and after not being total happy with previous areas, and villas, we did a lot of researching, and Karen was so helpful, efficient, honest and amazingly patient, and always answered our emails promptly. Her knowledge of the area, was by far the most helpful we have ever had, the location of the villa was perfect for exploring the beautiful coastal towns, and unspoilt beaches. Dream holiday
This was a dream holiday, we stayed in the villa which was very clean and tidy.
The welcome pack is such a great idea (thanks Karen) it saved us rushing off to the shops. We stayed here with our children who had a fab time, we couldn't keep them out of the pool. Karen is such a lovely, kind lady she is just so helpful, she gave us advice on different places to visit.
All bedrooms have their own private bathroom/shower just total bliss.

Casa Sagitario was a dream holiday, high standand of cleaning, well equipped, very comfortable, pure luxury and a very romanic setting. we chose this property for our honeymoon, and it truly lived up to much more then we expected. Amazing Holiday Aug 08
What a lovely holiday we had staying at this villa, myself, husband and two children (12 and 15 years) had so much fun. The weather was great and the villa was very clean and tidy and had everything you could need, it’s like home from home. Extremely comfortable and well-equipped, I was so impressed with the garden.The welcome pack that was there on our arrival was a lovely idea, it had all the things you need to start your holiday, so no need to rush to the shops when you get there. We all needed a break from busy London, and we certainly got that from staying at this wonderful villa, waking up to that lovely Spectacular view of the hills, and having breakfast outside on the terrace.
The girls loved having a bedroom with a ensuite bathroom, and the pool just outside, we all had so much fun in the pool.
We would recommend this villa as a place to relax or to use as a base to explore the local area, lots of information is left at the villa, so you can choose what to do throughout your stay.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you again Karen, for being so helpful and friendly from the outset. You made us feels very welcome and we will definitely come back again. I would also just like to mention the gardener/pool man, because he keeps the garden and pool very clean and tidy. We’ve never stayed in a villa so well kept! See you next year.

A well equipped villa ideal for families
Casa Sagitario provided a perfect base and is ideal for two families as has plenty of space, good sized rooms, particularly the bedroom upstairs, and all with ensuite bathrooms.
It was also well equipped and very clean with plenty of floats, buckets and spades and parasols for the beach.
The pool is superb and well located allowing parents to watch over the kids from the kitchen or terrace. Situated in a very quiet location, the villa is only a 5 minute drive into Calonge which has a good market on Thursday and a great butchers and bakers. It's also just a 10 minute drive to the coast but we preferred the beaches in Calella, Llafranc and around Begur. The restaurant opposite the supermarket on the way to the village (sorry forgot the name) offered great food although the service was slow. We would highly recommend this villa and would consider returning as the Costa Brava is a wonderfully unspoilt part of Spain, with few Brits, and makes an ideal getaway.
It's also just 90 minutes from Barcelona and 40 minutes from Girona (which is well worth a visit).

Family holiday at Casa Sagitario
This is one of the best designed and equipped holiday houses I have stayed in. One bedroom, the sitting/dining room and kitchen form the 3 wings of the house which back onto the pool. Each has doors opening onto the pool area. This means that you can watch your kids in the pool whilst you are in the house and a "summer kitchen" is not necessary. The 4 bedrooms each have good bathrooms. The kitchen is also well designed and equipped. We did not find the lack of air conditioning a problem; closing windows and curtains against the afternoon sun was enough to keep the temperature inside OK (but I don't think the temperature exceded 30 throughout our stay, which helped). There are fans in each bedroom if necessary. Locally, you can pick from sandy beaches (we liked Castel) , hilltop villages (go to Pals), trips to Figueras (Dali museum) and Barcelona. Lots of info at the house and Karen is very friendly and helpful.

Family Celebration 2008
We enloyed a very pleasant stay in this lovely house in the early weeks of june, 2008. The four bedrooms with private bathrooms provided the privacy needed, for our family with four couples and two grandchildren. Karen, the propertymanager, was very friendly and helpfull and provided us with additional beds for the children and extra satellite receiving equipment for the international and sports channels. The house was clean, the garden and lawn tidy, with full privacy and a magnificient view of the nearby hills. There is a lot of reading material available in the house, including brochures of places of interest, golf info and inf on restaurants. We enjoyed for instance the small fish restaurant "Petit Bar", at the harbour in Palamos and the upscale "Can Roquet" at Santa Cristina d'Aro.
Points for improvement: The TV-set is old and reception is (still) too much UK oriented. The airconditioning is not available to renters, this is unacceptable and definitely a showstopper in the spanish summer.
