The best hotel I have been to in Sri Lanka. Very good rooms. We took a large one with a corner balcony. Cleaned up every day. Always clean, comfortable and pleasant to be in the entire hotel. Also a very good restaurant. They cook very well. There is also a bar. If breakfast is included, they are very large and tasty. The hotel also has its own beach. It is also cleaned every morning. Free sun loungers from the hotel. The beach also has a bar and tables where you can eat on the beach at any time. The hotel manager deserves special thanks. Very polite, always ready to help, suggest and provide various additional services, such as taxis, tuk tuk, safari, turtle farms and so on. I am very happy with my vacation here.

Not only the room was super clean, but every part around the hotel as well. The hotel beach is super. Not only for relaxing, but also for a seaside lunch or dinner. The restaurant is very cosy and the food magnificant. The entire staff is super friendly and helpfull. I would certainly recommend Amal beach hotel. It's worth every penny.

It is a very charming hotel located right by the beach. The breakfast is fantastic.
The room is very comfortable and clean.
The staff is very sweet and attentive.
100% would recommend this place to stay in Bentota Beach
Nothing.

The outside area is super nice, there's a direct access to a very nice beach, the restaurant area is really nice but a little overpriced compared to other restaurants nearby
The room was a little run down. Altogether, we had been staying in many different accomodations like villas, resorts, guest houses and hotels. We would recommend guesthouses rather than hotels in order to get to know the culture and people.

Staff was helpful, room was clean. Beach was very beautiful, peaceful and well maintained. Food in restaurant was very good especially the local dishes and the seafood
Noisy. I wasn't aware how close the hotel is to the train. I am a light sleeper, so every morning 5-6am I was woken by the trains passing by (very noisy and the whole building shakes). Wifi didn't work very well. One whole day it was almost nonexistent. Later staff said it should be fixed, but while the signal was ok this time, the speed was poor - almost unusable. Staff offered a room change, but I decided to change hotels instead because of the train issue.

Amal Beach is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Perfect rooms, friendly staff (especially the main concierge and Amal), the private beach was also very beautiful and food was absolutely amazing. We had wonderful massages at the Villa and were so impressed with the general cleanliness of the place. Thank you all so so much; we couldn’t have had a better stay.
Nothing; all was perfect. My husband and I came to see wildlife and there wasn’t a huge amount around, but that’s probably a bonus for a lot of travellers too.

The bed and pillows were comfy, the cleaners were quite good and the beach is awesome! There was a nice touch on Christmas Eve when the cleaners left a Merry Xmas message on the bed, and a present for us. In general the staff were friendly.
When we arrived we were told that there were only 2 rooms. One of them didn't have a balcony, which we had paid for and the other one was on the top floor at the back of the hotel next to a large noisy extractor fan. there was no mosquito net which was also advertised. When I enquired about both I was told the fan goes off at 9.30pm but sometimes it was later than that, and would come on early, so not much chance of lie-ins. The mosquito net was just a plug in mozzy repellent, not an actual net. The wi-fi was absolutely dreadful and rarely worked, the tv account stopped working at one point, the sink in the bathroom drained v. slowly. The shower flow as not the best, 10% was added to the bill in the restaurant, so the prices on the menu were misleading (common practice but still misleading!) and the vegan options were poor. You pay full price for breakfast even if you only want a few things such as tea & toast (we had to as we are vegans and couldn't have the eggs). We were hoping for a nice Christmas away from home here but left a bit disappointed.

I liked my room, the beach, food. All these met my expectations.
On my second day i noticed that USD 90 and LKR 1000 (Local currency) had disappeared from the safe box in my room. I do remember how much money i had and where i put it. The hotel manager blames everything on the guests: not even a single word of apology, they say that money cannot disappeare from the safe box.
