Nice rooms
Some areas need updating
5.0
The room was decently sized and had some space for us to move in. Our conversations with our guests at the hotel told us that this is not the case in every room, so we were glad to have been assigned to one of the more updated rooms.
The photos did not reflect what we found. The pool is older, smaller, and in a much worse conditions than what the photos indicated. One of the functions in the shower did not work, and we were told that because other functions were still working, we should be alright. The room had a damp smell, which made us concerned that the rooms are not aired properly. We asked the reception if we could get a taxi and were told that Uber was reliable in the area, so should proceed with Uber rather than calling a taxi. No Uber drivers picked up our request for half an hour, and we ended up having to walk and then hitchhike to the wedding venue in our wedding attire! No Uber drivers picked up our requests over the course of 3 days.

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The food was very good.
We arrived early and every effort was made for us to have a room early.
Rooms quirky and really comfortable and much better than a 3 star.
The staff also remembered that I had mentioned my husband's birthday.
It would have been nice to have coffee making facilities in the room as we did miss this and it is usually standard.

Beautiful location. Large modern room. Powerful shower. Great restaurant

Room 103 very clean and comfortable. The shower floor was slippy which for the elderly or those with mobility issues is a problem. we had to use a towel for security and stability. A non slip surface should be applied a s a p.
Tea/coffee making facility would enhance the experience.
Excellent dinner on the terrace which seemed to be the only option. Smokers at the next table was a downside.
Very good breakfast in a somewhat cramped room. Some bizarre things, however, the spoons for the boiled eggs were on the opposite end of the buffet table to the egg cooker - very odd. The egg cooker had no instructions on usage and it was not obvious how to work it. We did ask reception to ensure that suitable instructions were produced and placed next to it as a matter of urgency. We finally worked it out and became instructors for the other guests!

Meal we had in the restaurant was lovely. Good selection of wine

The location is exceptional, just a short walk into the town. Parking is easy and plenty of it. The air-conditioning in the room was necessary and worked well. The swimming pool looked clean and welcoming although we didn't use it. The actual room was clean and acceptable, pretty plain decor, but rather dark and in need of a spruce up here and there. We didn't eat in the restaurant but took the short walk into the town where there are several restaurants. At breakfast we only normally eat a croissant and coffee so again walked into the town.
Don't imagine you are booking into a typical French chateau, this is an 80's functional motel type of accommodation.

The swimming pool, the kids facilities and the restaurant were great; We were able to spend a lovely evening at the hotel.

Location, staff, breakfast, food in restaurant.
Dated decor separate toilet and bathroom ( not good for cross infection control) air conditioning difficult to work, on arrival-allocated room was not made up, shower was hand- held, bedroom not bright (210) furnishings in bedroom very minimal and sparse.

The restaurant the staff were very helpful and polite. The food was good though not exceptional. Generally the hotel was very bad and the restaurant good. We had the last 6 oyster available they were ok. The carpaccio of bazas beef this was very good. Followed by a Magret of duck withe fries cooked in beef fat. This was good.
Cheese was fine. The Luis xv cream of chocolate was also very good. Local Wine was great.
The hand shower did not work at all. The room was very dated. Bed sheets were stained And the room was not clean. The attitude of the night receptionist was unhelpful to the point of almost being rude. The booking .com description includes a bath which did not exist.
