The location was beautiful and the rooms were comfortable (albeit modest). What made it was the owner. He helped us with advice before we arrived, and met us as we pulled in. He was so welcoming and even gifted us an extra breakfast to start our morning.

The location is walking distance to the famous Brown Ave. The house is very big and comfortable.
Shower room can have shower curtain to avoid water spreading. It can be better.
I am not a cat person, the cat scares me a bit when the cat stand outside of the door and try to get in. Probably inform the visitor that there are pets in advance.

A nice little house with a warm host and a wonderful view. The design of the house is very special. The ambience encourage talking to other travellers and understanding their story.
The curtain could have been larger and thicker so the sunlight don't shine through so early in the morning.

Location was good.
Lack of breakfast offering at a Bed and BREAKFAST. No one present for check-in and self check-in process not clear for English-only speakers. Very limited street only parking on a narrow street.

Beautiful house with warm and welcoming interior (and a very pretty cat!)
We had a great stay and the host was very kind and offered us a lot of help with everything.
The breakfast you can buy is delicious and local.

The location is amazing right by the entrance to the famous Brown Boulevard, and you can see the rice fields from the second floor balcony of the house. Host was friendly and helpful. Room was old style but clean and large and beds were comfy. Also appreciated the espresso machine in the morning, and mosquito incense placed by owner. My kids loved the resident cats.
Only the hotel's oldest and least appealing room (the one we stayed in) is available on Booking. They have other rooms upstairs that look newer and super awesome, with views and cool design features like ladders up to lofts inside the rooms. We saw these in online reviews, but they don't seem to put these rooms on Booking because they are too popular and sell out already from local tourists. We rode an electric bike there, as it's a ways from the train station.

We had very much enjoyed the location (at the feet of the hills, facing the lush paddies and colza fields) and decoration (a traditional wooden frame with all modern amenities) of this place the first time we stayed here, but the new manager has only made it more pleasant, including a more practical check-in. The free tea and board games are even nicer extras.
The double rooms on the top are a bit small, with no shelf on which to unpack.

The building itself is furnished very nicely and the view from the communal terrace is beautiful. Most necessary things were provided and the air con and tv were up to date and functioned well.
I don’t speak Chinese and the staff speak limited English which meant we had some communication issues. They only take cash and require it on arrival but I didn’t have it and the nearest ATM is in town. I then forgot to pay the next day and the staff didn’t ask us for it until 9.45pm when we were in bed almost asleep. One guy came and reminded us we hadn’t paid and when I said ‘tomorrow?’ he seemed to understand, nodded and left. 10 minutes later, a lady came and asked about the money, pretty much waking us up and with the same very limited English. She too seemed to accept our offer of ‘tomorrow’. Another 5 minutes later and the first guy comes up again having enlisted a teenage boy staying there with some English to ask for some ID. By this point we were frustrated and shocked that they think it’s acceptable to disturb their guests at 10pm 3 times. Very unprofessional. I accept that I forgot to pay immediately, but they also forgot and addressing the situation at night time is not appropriate.
The breakfast was attractive but quite tasteless aside from the fruit and was exactly the same the next day.
I had to swat about 7 flies buzzing around our bedroom windows when we arrived, perhaps because it’s high up in the eaves.
The curtains don’t keep the light out.

The view and location were great, the bed was comfortable and the air conditioning was really cold. The outside seating area was really nice to sit out in the evening. There were lots of friendly cats relaxing around the place.
Our room didn’t have proper curtains. The material that was covering the windows was all stained and didn’t cover the whole window, so that I had to hang towels over the gaps. To make sure people in the road or guests on the balcony couldn’t see in. It was so strange! This could be and probably was (about ten years ago) a lovely traditional home stay. But it just felt a bit run down, and not looked after. Also there’s no soundproofing between rooms, our room was directly above and next to a family of 8 with 4 kids. We could hear everything. Breakfast was disappointing, the coffee machine didn’t work and there were tea bags but no hot water. The teenage kid serving the breakfast tried his best but didn’t really know what to do.
