Heel mooi verblijf in een natuurrijk gebied

Het is zeer afgelegen, als je op zoek bent naar rust ben je hier zeker op je plek, virgin beach was zeer rustig en mooi.

Vervoer vanuit Karengasem naar een andere plaats is moeilijk te regelen. Er zijn weinog Grabchauffeurs in deze regio, houd hier rekening mee.

Great place to stay

We booked a room and got the whole Villa for ourselves cause there was no other guests. The room and bed was really nice and it was a quiet area without all of the traffic noise.

There is a mosque close by so you can hear the prayer very early in the morning which is really loud

Week-end in mountain nature

I wanted to find the place for relaxing after chaos in Canggu and found this: interior CDs with music good location ( 7-10 min walking to Bukit Cinta , 1h walking to Lempuang temple ) all famous instagram places are close kitchen hot water so clear friendly and helpful staff view from terace to Agung

A lovely stay but not really relaxing

The villa is lovely - it is spacious and we had it all to ourselves because we were lucky that no other guests had made reservations for during our stay at it. They provide help when renting a scooter (which is a must in this region btw!) and are very helpful when it comes down to organisational questions (where to eat, which shop to buy stuff from, prepare breakfast, coffee, etc.) The rooms are pretty big and the value for money is a good deal. Nyoman (the help) is a lovely and very welcoming person!

Note that there is a mosque right behind the villa which makes the stay harder for the light sleepers (I am a hard sleeper and still was waken up by the 5am ceremony which happens on a daily basis, even with ear plugs). If you plan on not staying at the villa and make early wake-ups (to go to Mount Batur or Mount Agung) the place is perfect as you'll miss the morning mass. There are 5 of these a day and we were there at the end of Ramadan which made the stay harder when it came down to resting. You cannot pay by card, instead you can make a bank transfer. (not mentioned upon booking) Note that to use the kitchen facilities you have to pay extra 100k IDR. I wouldn't recommend it unless you plan on staying there for a week or more. (not mentioned upon booking) The WiFi is not stable and if you are a digital nomad you'll have bad experience with it unless you have your own mobile plan as a backup.

Comfortable and welcoming stay, would happily recommend

it was really clean and the facilities were amazing. Really lovely host that helped us book a taxi for the next day. Food was lovely and huge bed!

Very good

I booked for one room one night but there was no other guest so I got the whole house to myself!! Love it!! The place is big and clean. The staff didnt speak good English but she tried to help as much as she can. This place would be perfect if you travel as family or group of friend.

The location was a but hard to find, like I first thought I took a wrong turn and the property didnt exist cause when you take the turn to this small path following google map, first thing you’ll see is abandon land. So would be really nice if you put more sign from the main road and on that small path.

I recommend Villa Santai but feel it is necessary to correct some information on the websites.

Villa Santai is a very beautiful house and the view towards Gunung Agung is really great. Nyman, the attentive housekeeper, takes care of the guests almost around the clock, and during the five days I was there in December 2022, I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the friendly people.

There is information on the websites that I think is misleading. For example, it is said that Villa Santai features a restaurant and a bar. This is incorrect. There is no restaurant and no bar either in the house or in the immediate vicinity. There is a menu for food and drinks to choose from and when you order for example Nasi Goreng, Nyoman starts her motorcycle and gets it from a nearby Warung. At this point I should mention that during my time at Villa Santai the owner, Kadek, was not on site. Maybe the processes are different when she can take care of the guests herself ... - Then the websites mention that all rooms have a desk and a coffee machine/kettle. My Superior Double Room had neither one nor the other. Rather, for the fact that I prepared coffee - for lack of alternatives - in the communal kitchen and occasionally a few fried eggs, a "kitchen fee" of Rp. 100,000 was charged. - Anyone checking into Villa Santai should definitely have a motorbike or car – there are no internet taxis like Gojek or Grab available in this area. There are bicycles in Villa Santai for rent, but since they are in a poor condition and the frame size is rather unsuitable for tall Westerners, the fun here is very limited - especially since the area around Villa Santai has many steep hills.

Wonderful Villa

Very beautiful Villa with lots of space. Great view of Mt Agung from the balcony on a clear day. Host was very welcoming and cooked us a delicious breakfast. Location is close to Bukit Cinta.

The place and view were perfect. Very friendly staff and very good internet speed. Rooms are clean and a lot of beautiful gekkos on territory.

Superb

Very nice place, well built, you feel just like home. Great views on the rice fields and the volcano. Nyoman was very helpful, Kadek as well. Better to have a scooter or a car of your own. The mosque was actually a lot less disturbing than I thought in the morning.

Superb

The property was very clean, cosy, and the staff were very welcoming and helped us with any queries we had. The property is out the way and quiet which is nice to chill out. If the sky is clear you have good views of the mountain. Easy access to rent out a motorbike and is a short ride into town. Unfortunately for the property it had taken some damage to the upper floor which was where our room was meant to be, so they upgraded our room to downstairs room at no extra charge.
