Check out these Short Day Trips from Villas Aracari. Our property is located so you can have relaxing, non-stress days and still see some spectacular sights in the area. It's a perfect set-up! Including driving time, each option below will take approximately 4-6 hours or longer if desired.
1. Poas Volcano. Not only can you look down into the caldera of an active volcano, but Poas is also the easiest and most accessible spot to see cloud forests. It's also known for having the second largest crater in the world. It's only a 40-minute drive from Villas Aracari. We can help you get there on public transportation, give you directions if you want to drive yourself, or arrange private transportation.
2. Doka Estate Coffee Tour. Visit the largest coffee plantation in Costa Rica and discover the process of growing high-quality coffee. Have breakfast, lunch, or dinner in absolutely beautiful surroundings. Visit a butterfly garden and go shopping for souvenirs. This is only a 10-minute drive, and we will be able to easily help you with transportation.
3. La Paz Waterfall Garden. Travel to Costa Rica's most visited nature park and animal sanctuary. With lush rain forests and waterfalls surrounding you, experience the world's largest butterfly exhibit, see more hummingbirds than you can count, and look into the eyes of jaguars close up. And that's just a small part of what you'll see. It's a great educational opportunity! About an hour's drive from the CCG, transportation, again, can be easily arranged. The drive there is worth the trip!
4. Alajuela City Tour. What would a trip to a foreign country be without immersing yourself in the culture? Travel just 10 minutes down the mountain, and you will be in the center of Costa Rica's second-largest city. Enjoy one of the active town parks, go into numerous shops, or wander around the Alajuela central market. Or, if you are lucky and a game is scheduled, go see Costa Rica's oldest (and best!) professional soccer team play a match. Soccer is huge in Costa Rica!
5. Anywhere Costa Rica. No matter what you want to experience on your trip, we can provide expert advice and services to make your travel dreams a reality.
Parking is available on our property (the driveway is secured by a locked gate 24/7).

This home is so warm and cozy and well kept. Every bathroom and bed was impecable. We loved this place and it truly surprised all of us since this was a last minute booking for a first 2 nights before we head out to the arenal are. The views were gorgeous as was the home. The peace and quiet in the are and the security of the home was great. You do have to drive through some sketchy areas to get there but once you arrive and find the huge gate it is definitely reassuring. It was an amazing start to a great vacation.

We arrived into San Jose late and needed a place to stay for one night that was close to the airport. We wished we had stayed longer! The house was beautiful and the pool and grounds were gorgeous. The house had many added amenities: bottles of water, soap, hair dryers and plenty of towels. Andrea and Daniel were very helpful. We would definitely recommend staying here and hope to come back for a longer stay.

We stayed in a different location at the for the first week of our vacation and we wanted a place close to the San Jose Airport for the end of our vacation, the Casa Cielo Grande is exactly what the name describes. You are high in the mountain above San Jose with a remarkable view of the city, while high and far enough to enjoy the view and feel very safe. Andrea was very helpful and answered all our questions. The view was one of the best that we experienced during our vacation. No detail was left out, the house had everything we needed, with beautiful large bedrooms and modern kitchen with lots of space to relax. We also had an opportunity to meet the owners. They were very warm and friendly and also respected our privacy. We look forward to visiting again and hope to spend a little time chatting again. Lots of restaurants close by and very close to La Paz Waterfall gardens, a must do excursion. Also close by is Ppas Volcano, unfortunately it was closed to tourists at that time. All the more resin to visit again. Lovely place and hope to visit again. Thanks so much for having us and making us feel so welcome.
