About this cottage rental
In a row of whitewashed, thatched cottages in a Cornish fishing village, The Cot is one of those places where you can drink in all the atmosphere of Cadgwith and its history. Sunny and south facing, this cottage has been beautifully renovated to an extremely high standard, allowing you to enjoy the cove in very comfortable, stylish surroundings. Low beams, open stonework and original wooden doors - together with a secret room, possibly a smuggler's hidey-hole - all add to the appeal of this 16th Century property.
You can enjoy freshly caught fish and crab in the Old Cellars Restaurant or in the Cadgwith Cove Inn, the local pub and social hub of the village. The Inn is the venue for a thriving Folk Club on Tuesday nights and traditional Cornish singing every Friday. In high season, seafood barbecues, fishing competitions, gig racing, a regatta and a folk music day are social highlights of this charming, unspoilt village in South West Cornwall.

We had a fabulous stay at this lovely cottage, comfortable cosy and warm, we had everything we needed.
There is a great view of the Cove from the top of the garden (on a hill) where you can relax in the sun with a nice glass of wine.
Cadgwith is a lovely unspoilt Cove and is incredibly peaceful with a very good pub.
There are lovely walks straight out of the cottage along the coastal paths or drive a short distance to the Lizard and Kynance Cove.
We even had fish and chips with fresh Cadgwith caught cod delivered to our door from Treleague Dairy Farm who are just up the road and do a takeaway service.
All in all, a very enjoyable break and we would definitely return.

Cosy, warm, inviting historic haven
The cottage felt very welcoming and we felt at home as soon as we stepped in. It was warm, clean and cosy and really well equipped. Everything we needed was to hand. The cove was idyllic and the scenery stunning. We really felt like we had stepped out of the stresses of modern life. It was a perfect and peaceful week and we will definitely be staying there again.

We have been coming to Cadgwith for the last 10 years and this was the best place we have stayed by far. Great location close to the Cove and a garden with a lovely sea view. We had good weather so didn't spend a great deal of time indoors but we slept well in the beds and benefited from 2 great showers as well as a free standing bath! The cot was very clean and we had been left tea bags, milk and a bottle of wine. We had a slight issue with the hob but this was immediately rectified by the owner who replaced the faulty hob with a new one. This was particularly impressive as it was a bank holiday weekend. We would love to stay here again.

Fabulous winter week in Cadgwith
We couldn't have stayed in a more perfect cottage and village than the Cot in Cadgwith - it was exactly what we'd hoped for. The Cot is welcoming, comfortable and homely and is equipped with everything you need, and is just a stone's throw from the beach. We walked a good amount of the South West Coastal Path right from the front door, enjoying a rewarding drink at the exceptionally friendly local pub afterwards. There's so much to explore in this lovely part of Cornwall and for us, Cadgwith was a magical place from which to do it.

Cute and cosy!
My sister and I had such a lovely long weekend at The Cot. Such a pretty, cosy cottage. A wood burner, squashy sofas and stormy weather outside. What more could you want on a winter break!
Great meal in the pub on Friday night where we were treated to the Cadgwith shanty singers in fine voice. Wonderful.
The cottage is well equipped. The beds are comfy. All in all a lovely experience.

Comfortable and charming restored family cottage
Just home after another delightful stay at 'The Cot'. We love the character, comfort and charm of Fiona and Simon's sympathetically restored 16th century thatched cottage. A further highlight was the newly terraced garden which has fantastic views of the bay and cove. The cottage is highly recommended for its facilities, tasteful decor and location. We also loved reading about the family history of the property. It's brilliant to have the beach, crab seller, ice-cream shop, café and pub only a few steps away. Thanks for a wonderful relaxing break - we look forward to a return visit before too long!

The Cot is a beautiful cottage in a stunningly lovely village
We had a lovely week in The Cot. The house is interesting and comfortable and has everything provided for a relaxing stay. We were lucky to have some good weather and the view from the garden is fantastic! We loved having a great pub so close ( Tuesday folk session a highlight!) and being able to walk the South Western Coastal Path right from the door.

Wonderful traditional seaside cottage in small and very friendly seaside fishing village.
The Cot was just perfect for our needs; very comfortable, welcoming and warm. The view from the garden above the cottage is spectacular whether you are watching the sun rise or the sun set. The Cot is also very well located for access to the coastal path and, as importantly, the local pub which serves great seafood and welcomes visitors wholeheartedly. We have no doubt that we will return!
Thank you Fiona.

Lovely old fishermans cottage
Very warm and cosy cottage renovated to a good standard yet still retaining its character.
Located in the old fishing village of Cadgwith, where the fishing boats go out daily and supply the pub with fresh fish.
The coast path is on the doorstep for lovely walks round the Lizard peninsular.
The roads are narrow and steep which may cause problems in high season, but the cottage has a dedicated car space about 100 metres distance.
Overall an excellent place to stay

Gorgeous cottage in perfect Cornish setting
My wife and I wanted a quiet mid-winter break on the Cornish coast. A friend, who returns to Cadgwith most years, recommended the Cot. This cottage is a delight! It has just about everything we wanted: a cosy place to relax in a pretty fishing village, located a few yards from the coast path and friendly village pub, garden with views across the village and bay, deep bath, and well equipped kitchen. The cottage has been beautifully restored without loosing the charm of its historic features. Highly recommended.

Fabulous location, comfortable yet quirky, lovely deep bath!
Loved our stay, being the tucked in behind the pub and with parking was just such a treat.
We felt the heating in the cottage needed a little maintenance but having the little portable fire sorted that out.
The settees in the lounge are comfy but do lack in character a bit and one blocks the fire which seems a shame.
A lick of a rich cream colour instead of white, a change of settee and a coloured throw or two would really boost the interior and maybe some basic cleaning supplies in the kitchen and it would have been 4 stars from us.
We had a great week.

Delightful cottage in a great location
I stayed for a few days walking on the SW Coast Path, The Cott is in an ideal place for walking on the Lizard. Well appointed and maintained, close to the coast and the village pub.

A beautiful, mystical place full of character
Having stayed in quite a few excellent cottage rentals I can confidently state that this one stands out head and shoulders above the rest.
The Cot has character and history combined with 21st Century comfort and facilities that leave one enchanted.
Hideaway nooks and crannies used for contraband or to evade press gangs combine with low beamed ceilings and doorways suggesting how the dwellers of the past lived here.
It's a glass throw away from the Arms which itself is wall to wall charactuer and characters from the mayor with curiously trimmed trouser bottoms to the singers and artists who evoke a sense of times gone by.
If I have one negative to throw into the mix for balance it is that we had to leave. This is a home from home and then some. Stay, embrace the vibe and leave enriched by the experience.
I feel privileged to have been allowed a glimpse into this world.
Thank you

Lovely comfortable cottage
Lovely sunny cottage, thoughtfully and well renovated and equipped. Good sunny living space, comfortable bedrooms and a particular bonus - a garden was th afternoon/evening sun looking out over the village and the sea.

Great cottage, first class accomodation & location
First class accommodation, good and clean facilities - very comfortable indeed. Parking was slight issue but not a game breaker whatsoever
