The location was excellent. Everything we needed to get to was a short driving distance. We popped over to the hotel on the corner a couple of times and enjoyed an excellent coffee there. (Even though a coffee machine was on the premises-we were just feeling lazy and on holiday!). We Were a family of four adults and one child and found the cottage really good value for money. The rooms were very spacious, The beds were super comfortable and we really enjoyed the unique character of the cottage.
We travelled to Hebburn during a heat wave in November and the upstairs bedrooms were very warm. Before travelling to this cottage we were aware that no Aircon was on the premises and we brought up extra fans. The temperature in the upstairs bedrooms on the very hot Friday was 36° and it didn’t really cool down until the Following morning.

Zelman cottage is the perfect getaway. The cottage is exceptionally comfortable, picturesque and cosy. The beds are fantastic and the outdoor veranda has a beautiful view. Would happily return!

Location was excellent. Evne thoughits location is in a residential street your views are all out to hills and trees VEry restfulGarden was beautiful and full of spring flowerings. Cottage has lots of character and is quite quirky and interesting. Staff from DayGet were attentive and prompt in dealing with any issues.
While we appreciated the complimentary bottles of wine on arrival as we had an issue with one toilet leaking and not being able to be used. Not an issue as there are other toilets. However, we felt it was a bit mean that they did not provide a small pack of basic supplies such as olive oil and dishwashing liquid. Kitchen utensils were a bit limited eg no decent cutting knives, no whisk no strainer/ sieve. I think there was also only one tea towel. Also if you are light sleepers the cottage floors creak no matter how lightly you try to walk . So night-times can be a bit disrupted.

The location was awesome and the bathrooms and kitchens were very clean.
The main rooms upstairs have no aircon and it is way to hot for people to sleep especially if you have children. The property needs aircon. The TV also needs Netflix for children to watch movies especially when paying the price we payed.
The property also needs some maintenance outside as one of the roof tiles fell off while we were there with another one about to fall. This could have hit one of us walking up the front path to front door (very dangerous) there was also an ant problem in the double bedroom upstairs around the balcony.
4.5
The beautiful period home. The garden. All the little thoughtful aspects such as hot water bottles, fire kindling and fire lighting materials mineral water, coffee pods and many more.
Upstairs was very cold, getting dressed in the morning and before bed was chilly. The couches downstairs looked lovely and were comfortable to sit in, but perhaps some beanbags if people want to relax in front of the fire/tv at night would be nice.
3.1
Great location in Hepburn Springs
No hand soap or bath soap in the bathrooms
Not well insulated with cold air coming through from around the windows and the kitchen cupboards. No extra blankets for the beds and not enough warm blankets on the beds
No bath mats
Very noisy floors such that they squeaked loudly every time someone moved upstairs
