Overall a great stay. The rooms were good size and had pretty much everything we needed. The location was excellent, quiet street but a short walk from the main part of town,.the grocery store.and a night shop . The bicycles were a very nice and appreciated addition. Using the code for entry made check in and out easy and means you didn't need to keep track of keys. Some observations (not criticisms): the stairs up to the bed and bathrooms are narrow and winding, they need some care in going up and down. The bed is quite soft (if that matters to someone) but we nevertheless found it quite comfortable. Fans were nice given the unusually hot weather. The washer/dryer took some effort to figure out; Google translate was helpful as the instructions were in French. But having a washer was great. While the bathroom was fine, there was no shampoo or other toiletries so be sure to bring your own. The kitchen is well equipped. TV was nice and worked well. As some others have mentioned, the host came by during the week- he messaged in advance. Not a usual thing in other rentals we have had but not a problem either. We would recommend this property and host!

Location was perfect...one lane away from the main road so everything was peaceful and quiet. The owner is clearly a lover of antiques and it made us feel even more like we lived in this fairytale town rather than just visiting. This house is worth staying at just for the books kept there on Bruges. I waited until my last day to pick up two in particular that might have changed my whole visit if I had paid attention to them earlier in my trip. One book is dedicated to the excavation of De Burg and a second is the complete architecture of what must be almost every house in Bruges. I actually walked down the street with it to compare the current look of some neighboring buildings to the way they used to look a hundred years ago. That book could have been its own tour guide to the city and it is fascinating! Thank you so much for providing bicycles. We made a day trip to Damme and it was the highlight of our trip. There is not a more picturesque setting for a picnic than the apple orchard behind the cemetery at Our Lady Ascension Church. We were visiting from America and our host made check-in and check-out very easy and stopped by to introduce himself. We loved our stay and would stay here again without hesitation.

This is a lovely, nicely appointed, and comfortable 3-story townhome in Bruge, close to all historic sites, on a cute little private street. The beds were comfortable. There were ample cooking supplies (pots pans, dishes), two bikes for us to use (very convenient), lots of towels and blankets, and easy access via a code on the front door. Raphael was great with communication ahead of time and checking in was a breeze. The home is filled with art books, historic books on Belgium and bruge, games, comfy throws on the sofa, etc. Everything was very thoughtfully and carefully set up for a family on vacation. We did have one issue worth noting though: Raphael (the owner?) stopped by when we were out and came inside the house twice unannounced. On the second visit, he entered all of the bedrooms and opened the windows. He did leave a note saying he had been there (after the second visit), but we felt he should have given notice ahead of time he would be coming over. We didn't understand the purpose of his visits and have never experienced this before with a vacation rental. We messaged him about this, and he did not reply. Other than this unusual incident for a rented house, everything was great with the stay.

We are a family of 4, with 2 adult children in their 20s, travelling together. We like to dive into the thick of things, then retreat to a quiet spot to relax and re-energize. Though we like eating out, we also enjoy having our own food and doing some cooking. This rental met all of these needs. It is perfectly situated, only minutes from lots of activity but on a small, quiet street off the main path. It was very clean, very well-stocked and the beds were very comfortable. Raphael was very communicative and responded to questions very quickly, though we didn't have many. It is on three floors, so it would not be a realistic place to stay if you have mobility challenges. One bedroom on third floor, one on second, and living area / kitchen on ground floor. The separation of everything was very nice in terms of quiet and not worrying about disturbing others who might be sleeping. We highly recommend this VRBO. Thank you, Raphael!

We really enjoyed our stay at Hamiltonhouse. It’s a short walk to the centre and very well laid-out. Raphael let us know we could get a taxi from the station which was 14 euros. We figured out for our return there is also a very convenient free shuttle which took about 15 mins. The loft is a great space for kids, and the living areas have everything you need. Beds were very comfortable and we appreciated the laundry facilities (once we translated the dials and figured out how to use it!) The only thing we found a bit unusual was that Raphael came by on the second day when we weren’t there. He adjusted the windows upstairs and down and left a note on the table and in the bedroom. Normally, hosts let you know before they come in, but perhaps Belgian customs are different. Apart from that, we thought everything was excellent. Thanks very much

This is a great location for exploring Bruges. It is tucked into a a quiet residential neighborhood away from the crowds. The house is nicely furnished and the kitchen is well stocked with dishes, cookware and appliances. There are also quite a few books and maps about Bruges. The host stopped by to make sure everything was OK and gave us several restaurant recommendations. I would highly recommend staying here while visiting Bruges.
