About this house rental
Come enjoy this newly constructed beach cottage that boasts 3 bedrooms all with private baths. Located in the charming and picturesque village of East Blue Hill, ME. Tucked into a peaceful cove and surrounded by pine trees this home is the perfect place to relax and recharge. This spot is truly unique in that it has access to one of the few beaches in the area.
Enjoy unforgettable sunrises and sunsets over the ocean from the deck or wander down to the beach to swim, play in the sand or just take in the view!
It is a short four mile trip into Blue Hill Village which offers local restaurants, a wine shop, bakeries, a farmers market, art galleries, shopping, hiking and many more coastal Maine attractions. Acadia National Park is 30 miles away.
The cottage sleeps 6 people, though can easily accommodate more with cots. Upon request a pack and play, high chair and other child necessities are available. The house is fully furnished with all appliances including a dishwasher and washer and dryer. There is Wifi and a flat screen Smart Roku television..
A water filtration system has been installed in this house. The tap water has a higher level of arsenic than recommended by the EPA. You can use the spigot on the sink for drinking and cooking water, and a Zero Water Filter for bathrooms is available for drinking. Bathing, dish washing and laundry are not a problem. Higher arsenic levels and radon levels are common in this area because of the large amounts of granite that we have. A radon mitigations system has also been installed.

My husband and I and my sister and her husband stayed here for 4 days. It was a nice quiet location outside of the busier tourist zone of Bar Harbor but a pleasant 40 minute drive to Acadia National Park. We loved that each couple had a bathroom off the bedroom plus another handy bathroom on the main floor (actually there are 3 bedrooms each with its own bathroom). The deck was a great place to sit and look over the bay and everything was nicely decorated and comfortable inside. We made 3 dinners and found the kitchen well-stocked. In addition we were able to make a couple of picnic lunches and used the small cooler provided. We were really able to kick back and relax here!

This property is the greatest!!!!
Located directly across the road from the water. Sliding glass doors and deck have an amazing view to watch the tide roll in and out. Accommodations were perfect and the host seemed to think of everything a renter needed. A10plus

We loved our stay at the Beach House. We are a group of 5 senior citizens that travel together. The home was beautiful! It was well stocked for cooking, comfortable beds and a stunning vies of the ocean inlet. We loved watching the tide go in and out, also enjoyed walking the road and the view along that. The farm across the street and up the hill that raises sheep was fun to see.

Nice clean home , great views of the small beach across the road . We used the home for a base for day trips to Arcadia and day trips down the coast to Rockland and Owls Head ,

The house was exactly as listed - everything we needed. Loved the access to the private beach. Easy driving distance to sightseeing, but a quiet retreat after a day’s activities.

Newer house with really nice view from deck! Close to cute town of Blue Hill and only about an hour to Bangor or Bar Harbor. Each bedroom had a private bathroom and beds were very comfy. Kitchen was stocked nicely.
Def recommend!

This home was the perfect spot for us to explore the coast of Maine for the first time. The town of Blue Hill is close by and has anything you might need for your stay. Acadia NP/Bar Harbor area is only about 40min drive and easy to access for a day trip. The benefits to staying here is that you’re right on a quiet little cove. With access to the beach and great views. Plus the home is so immaculate. Really. It had everything and everything was good quality and in great working order. Better than any rental home I’ve ever stayed in.
To the reviewer who put the cove beach in a negative light- the access says ‘private’ but we found we shared it with cars who parked along the road across the street from the house- but never on our side of the road. We were here Labor Day weekend and never thought a few visitors to be a hindrance to us or our enjoyment of the beach and view. We would certainly stay in this house again given the chance to return to Maine. We thought it was very quiet with a good mix of town activity. If you’re on the fence about staying here- I highly recommend it!

My wife, adult son and I had a wonderful time at the house. It was spotless; the appliances were all up to date. The porch faces a salt-water cove where you can wade or swim. At night, there is no light polluting the sky. When you look up, it's like having your own private planetarium. It took us a while the first night to realize the "cloud" above us was the Milky Way. Because there are abundant woods nearby, hummingbird feedrs would be a nice addition.

This was the perfect house for our family reunion get away. The location in East Blue Hill, across from Curtis Cove was the hub of activity. The layout was perfect. The deck has amazing views and each bedroom having its own bath is the cherry on the top.

AVOID THIS PROPERTY! Our stay was RUINED by the HOST of this property. She lives next door and came over 4 times in the first 24 hours. She was nasty from the start because we interpreted her house rules no pet policy to mean no pets in the house. Since the weather is beautiful in August, the dogs were content to remain outside in their kennels when they were not walking with us on the beach or swimming in the ocean. Our daughter even slept outside with them one night because the house was too hot. The host at first did not believe we would not bring them in the house. Once she realized that we were serious about them remaining outside, rather than be relieved at our respect for her home, she tried to extort additional cash from us. Since asking for cash is against the VRBO policy for money transactions, we contacted VRBO for support, and the host responded by cancelling our reservation mid-week and refusing a refund. It was obvious that this was about money not the dogs because she allowed them to stay for three days before kicking us out because we contacted VRBO rather than pay her cash. We still question what the cash was for if the dogs were remaining outside. There was no cleaning needed, no damage was done to the yard, and we picked up after the dogs when we walked them. One dog was even a SERVICE DOG, but she didn’t care that our keeping him outside was out of respect for her home. According to VRBO policy, we could have brought him into the house without notifying her, but we chose to keep him outside. Our dogs NEVER ENTERED HER HOUSE. We also took our shoes off when entering the house and left it clean when we departed, despite the abrupt way in which our vacation was cancelled mid-week. We still washed the dishes, removed the bedding and emptied the fridge as expected upon departure. The house itself could be improved with air conditioning and a space for renters to keep their food. All the cabinets were full to the point where you felt someone had left for the day and was going to return. Our stuff had to remain on the counter. The TV did not work well. It had a blurry double image, so we used our own devices instead. The beach is not private but is frequented by many people. Cars parked up and down the road at all hours of the day and night. If you are looking for a quiet get-away where you can be left alone, PICK ANOTHER PLACE.

Beautiful Clean Cottage with Incredible Views
I can't begin to express how beautiful this property and its private beach are. The house is clean, perfectly laid out and has everything you need for a week away from home. The views of the private beach are spectacular. My daughters loved exploring the beach during low tide. We saw eagles and loons regularly and witnessed one of the most beautiful sunsets we have ever seen. While we took two day trips to Bar Harbor/Acadia, we felt that East Blue Hill had everything we needed - beautiful hikes, great restaurants, a nice grocery store and the cutest toy store I have ever been to. Sherry, the owner, was very attentive and willing to answer any questions that arose. Our week in the cottage was special beyond words and we can't wait to return!

Peaceful and Scenic!
The home is ideally located, wonderful view and very clean! Our only challenge was finding out the check in process as the owner did leave the doors open for us but we did not know it would be open as there was no communication after we texted and called. We really appreciated how well stocked the kitchen was, how clean the house was and of course, the view! Lovely experience...

What A View
The house is great. Spacious and clean. But the best part is the view off the deck. It looks out on a small bay and is fantastic. We loved everything about our stay. Can’t wait to return.

Wonderful home to call our own for the week!
We had a great time. Sherry has the house fully equipped with anything anyone might need. The view of the water was special in the morning and evening. Given we were there after Labor Day, restaurants were closed for the season or due to lack of help. We did need to travel to get to a store. I would recommend stocking up and cooking at home. We appreciated the opportunity to stay in such a lovely home

The Best
This property has it all. Cute, clean, well-stocked, and ideally situated by the water on a quaint, serene country lane that was perfect for morning walks. The Blue Hill village is a short drive away. Easy to get to, but far enough away to have some real peace and quiet. Absolutely delightful.

Quiet Cove in Maine
We had a lovely stay at this property. The owner was thoughtful and responsive to questions and the property was beautiful. Unfortunately we did not have the best weather, but it was nice to just be in the lovely and comfortable house and be away from it all for a while. Blue Hill is a great area to stay in and do day trips to various locations in Maine. We've been coming to Blue Hill for 50 years and it has gotten a bit more crowded, but actually the tourist attractions like Acadia National Park have gotten much more crowded, so Blue Hill has maintained it's very small town charm!

Beautiful place!
Our group of six (two couples, two children) thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this house. It was clean, quiet, and across a tiny road from a private beach in a low-traffic neighborhood. The pictures on the website do not do the beach justice. It has dramatic, 10-foot tides; sometimes the sandy beach was exposed, sometimes the rocky shore, but it was always gorgeous. My husband and our girls enjoyed snorkeling at low tide. Other people in the neighborhood visited the beach, but it was never crowded and everyone was reasonably considerate. The house was spacious enough for the six of us to spread out. The deck was nice; it includes a table big enough for six, with a folding umbrella. There were some useful odds and ends in the basement, including folding chairs, tiki torches, and another small couch and table where someone could have retreated to sit quietly, had there been a need. I think I also saw some children's toys. Blue Hill is a cute little town, with a surprisingly nice children's park for such a small community. Overall, we loved this place and would definitely return.

Highlight of our trip to New England
This home was an ideal setting for the end of a 2 week vacation in Vermont and Maine. The views are incredible, located just across a cul de sac street from a private beach. Blue Hill is a great small town with some of my he best pizza we’ve ever had! The home is new, tastefully furnished and with a well equipped kitchen.

Maine
Everything was really wonderful at the house. We haven’t been to Maine for about 7 years. Things sure change a lot. Acadia was so incredibly busy we couldn’t even attempt to find a place to park. Blue hill still has a nice little charm. Coyotes late a nifht howling was incredible.

Beautiful home, great location and stunning view!
Sherry is an amazing host, friendly and attentive. Location was great and easy to get to Bar Harbour and Acadia.
The property has everything you need and was great for a group of friends. We cooked and hung it on the amazing deck to take in the view. At night the skies are amazing and you can even see the Milky Way.
Towels abundant, all the amenities you need, it’s a home away from home! Everyone should check it out!

This lovely house on Curtis Cove was the perfect get away
The views are amazing. Sherry was the perfect host - helpful without being intrusive. The house was modern and well equipped - the deck was the highlight for me - coffee in the morning watching the bald eagles and staring at the water - highly recommend
