About this cabin rental
- Beach house within the city of Oslo
- Located right on the water
- Excellent opportunities for swimming, diving and fishing from the property
- Only 12 minutes by bus from Oslo city centre
- Uniquely attractive place to stay in all seasons
Welcome to stay in our fantastic waterfront fjord cottage! It is located within the city limits of Oslo, and it is a truly rare kind of property in the city landscape. You will be staying right on the water (literally only a couple of metres away) and the property has a long shoreline with excellent opportunities for swimming, diving, kayaking, and boating. Uniquely attractive place to stay in all seasons!
The property is located only 12 minutes by bus away from the centre of Oslo, and there are frequent bus departures from just outside the property from early morning to late evening.
OUTDOOR AREA
The charming outdoor area has 180 degrees of stunning views of the fiord and its islands.
There is an outdoor kitchen with a gas grill, an outdoor hot-water shower, a heat lamp, a dining area, reclining chairs and much more.
There is a boat and a kayak available for rent.
THE INTERIOR
The fjord cottage was built at a time when the City of Oslo still permitted construction right on the water. Such construction is no longer allowed, rendering this a particularly rare and unique property.
The interior has later been re-designed by architect Andreas Tingulstad. While the fjord cottage is not very large, the design strives to make the most out of every cubic millimeter.
The interior is modern, has specially designed furniture, and is well lit with lighting from Expo Nova. A combined heat pump and air conditioning unit ensures comfortable indoor temperatures around the year.
The kitchen has a Miele induction cooktop, an oven, a microwave oven, a dishwasher, refrigerator and freezer, a coffee machine, knives, china, and glassware.
In the living room, there is a flatscreen TV. The dining area (which can actually seat up to 10 persons) has a panoramic alcove with an 180 degree view of the Oslo fjord, including its islands and the buildings of downtown Oslo.
The bathroom features Bisazza mosaic, sandblasted glass and Philippe Stark interior design.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
There is a bedroom with four bunk beds, and also a mezzanine sleeping loft which sleeps up to four people in two comfortable double beds. The loft is perched above the living area and is accessed by a ladder. Each bed features an overhead ceiling window which offers the opportunity to fall asleep right under the stars.
There are light-proof roller blinds on every window. Used in conjunction with the air conditioning, it makes it easy to regulate both light and temperature even in the middle of summer.
The fjord cottage is ideal for couples, families and groups of up to four or five friends. It can technically sleep up to eight people, but the sleeping arrangements become intimate if there are that many guests.
UNIQUELY ATTRACTIVE IN ALL SEASONS
While this property is a heavenly place to spend time by the sea in the warmer part of the year, it is a uniquely attractive place to stay in all seasons. The immediate vicinity to the water provides for stunning views in all kinds of weather. Some winters, the fiord is covered by ice thick enough to allow skating, skiing, ski sailing and kite snowboarding. The combination of heated floors and the powerful heat pump ensures comfortable indoor temperature all winter long.
GUEST ACCESS
Guests have access to our beautiful garden, and to the fantastic swimming, diving and fishing opportunities that are available from the property.
As mentioned above, guests may also rent a kayak or boat from us. (In the interest of safety, rental presupposes that you have previous experience with kayaking or boating.)

It was lovely to come back to the boathouse everyday after exploring Oslo. The decking areas and river views are superb
We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast with Truls.
The property is very small but we made it work for our family of four. Best suited to two guests.
Town access via the 83 bus was super easy and at the doorstep.

Great Stay on the Oslofjord
Fantastic views, relaxing deck and spur of the moment swimming in the fjord. Nice compact kitchen, comfortable beds and a warm shower. Made use of the convenient bus access to the center of town for museums and dinner and hiked the nature area south of the property. Hosts Truls and Kore were helpful and fun to meet.

Even in November you can have an incredible stay in Norway, and this home on the water is one of the reasons. This is the perfect get away stay... my son loved sleeping in the loft above the living room with the huge windows right above him. The dining area was great for a bite to eat and for working on a writing project. The only draw back was the distance to the downtown sites, but the bus is literally right outside the property compound or if you rent a car you can park it right across the street. I'd definitely recommend this home!

What a glorious stay! We loved the property, down to to the kitchen where we were able to make two dinners and an amazing breakfast during our stay in Oslo. The owners were extremely responsive and we loved every minute of our cottage stay. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay. The views were picturesque, even during the rain and the beds were so comfy, we had a hard time leaving. Do not miss the opportunity to watch the sailboats race and the sun set on this glorious property.

Marvelous, having coffee on the deck overlooking the fjord and throwing crumbs to the seagulls. We recommend having breakfast with the hosts. They were extremely helpful and informative. Carried our luggage to and from our car. There are numerous steps to reach the cottage. It’s small but has all the amenities and quite comfortable.

We absolutely loved our stay here in Oslo at the beautiful property. On only regret is that we ever had to leave! The owners are wonderful! They sent me all of the information I needed a few days before arrival and then checked in with me once again the day before arrival. I felt like I was in good hands before I ever even step foot in Oslo. The check-in process was very easy, thanks to all of their info. The house is stunning, right on the water. We jumped off the private dock into the fjord several times and loved reading out on the porch. The house is cozy and tastefully decorated. It also has everything you need, from shampoo to toilet paper to hand soap, which many rentals do not have. It took us about 15 minutes by car to get into town, but there is also a bus stop right outside of the house, so getting around is a cinch, but we were happy to be a little outside the city, away from it all. The owners also offer to make you a traditional Norwegian breakfast, which I wish we had had time to do. Next time we will for sure take advantage of it. It's been only a couple of days since we left and we are already missing our favorite cottage on the water. Recommend without the slightest hesitation. You will absolutely love it here!

This sweet little cabin on the fjord is so cute that we hardly wanted to venture out to the city. Could’ve spent every minute sitting in the dock! It’s a little further from central Oslo than we had thought, but there is a bus station extremely close!

A fantastic home in a fantastic setting. The perfect Oslo getaway.
When we arrived at the property we were completely overwhelmed by how quaint the cottage was and how incredible the views are! The cottage was spotlessly clean and had all the basics we might need for our stay. Truls and Kare were the perfect hosts and it was a pleasure to have a chat with them.
The property is ideally located (right by the bus stop) for easy access into Oslo city centre.
We will definitely be visiting again and have highly recommended this property to our friends and family.

Fantastic stay!
We had an amazing stay in the beautiful lodge in Oslo! The view is even better than the photos and it has a great outside space with plenty of chairs to relax in, even in October we spent most of our time on the large decked area.
The space inside is perfect and even though it isn't huge there was plenty of space for 4 adults. The ladder up to bedroom is vertical and may not be ideal for older people but it was fine for us. It is easily accessible from Oslo Central by bus and there is a lovely walk nearby. This walk was recommended to us by Truls & Kåre who greeted us on arrival and gave us some handy tips. We would highly recommend this lodge to anyone looking to visit Oslo.

Perfect Weekend Getaway!
We have just enjoyed a long weekend in this cosy converted boathouse. The hosts were friendly and hospitable, the accommodation had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. The location is amazing, secluded, private, romantic and only a short drive or bus ride from Oslo.
I proposed to my girlfriend on the jetty and I couldn't have picked a better place!
Thanks again to Kåre and Truls

Quaint piece of heaven with stunning views and easy to get to
the pictures don't do it justice. This is a quaint place nestle right on the water looking at Oslo. I could have sat on the dock all day, but Oslo was waiting to be discovered. Being that it was right on a bus stop made it very convenient to get to from downtown. The inside was small, be really we didn't need anything additional that what was there. The small bathroom and kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were comfy.
My only complain was the ladder to get up to the loft beds, but the view up top made it worth it - who wouldn't want to look at the stars while you sleep.

Just about perfect!
Words cannot do this cottage justice, and it's better than even the photos suggest. We had an amazing three days right on the Oslofjord in perfect summer weather, and have been raving about our stay to friends and family. The cottage is very small, but is so cleverly designed that it felt plenty spacious for our family of three. The generous outdoor space also helped - there are multiple areas for lounging, dining, reading, and so on. As other reviewers have mentioned, this place was so fabulous that we almost didn't want to leave it to explore the city! Since we stayed here near the end of a two-week hiking vacation, we found that the only thing lacking was a clothes washer, though I can't imagine where it would fit. :-) Truls and Kare were great hosts - if we had been there a bit longer, we would have loved to take them up on their offer of a Norwegian breakfast together. We will definitely try to book this cottage again if we return to Oslo. Thanks for a wonderful stay, Truls and Kare!

One of the most beautiful places we’ve ever stayed. Kare and Trull the perfect hosts
Went for a swim, hours of reading, lapping up the sunshine on an endless late June day — and all Just a 12-minute ride from downtown on a bus that stops Just outside the house.

Just splendid
My husband and I stayed at Truls and Kare’s beautiful property just as the first signs of spring were appearing. The house is so lovely that we spent quite a bit of time there. The dock outside is a great place to sit and read and enjoy the breathtaking surroundings. We found Oslo to be a friendly and welcoming city in general and Truls and Kåre certainly embody that spirit. I don’t think we’ve ever stayed at a more distinctive property and it won’t be soon forgotten. The ladder that leads to the two double beds upstairs takes a bit of navigation and has been mentioned by another traveler. I think perhaps my 65 year old parents would have had trouble with it, but for young, able bodied travelers and families I don’t think it poses a problem. We were glad we booked this property and would highly recommend it to others. You’ll see a beautiful part of the city that you may not see otherwise.

Peaceful
House has everything you need but the additional bedroom upstairs is questionable- the ladder getting to bed is a challenge!

So beautiful... Must be seen to really appreciate the view!!
We just returned from a 4day visit to Oslo and, when we arrived the property was ready, clean, all facilities to cook, everything explained in writing about facilities, services ect!!!
Overall, we rate all service and place a 10*out of 10!!

Beautiful place!
This was a perfect place to stay while we explored Oslo! The setting is beautiful and Truls and Kåre are kind, organized, and helpful. The property is literally right next to a bus stop and the public transportation is so easy to figure out. We loved our stay here and would definitely go back!

Absolutely Fantastic
What a perfect place and hosts. We especially enjoyed the outdoor space and the interior had everything you could need. Swimming off the dock and grilling out made our stay in Oslo a highlight of our trip. We couldn't recommend the location more.

The property is just as beautiful as it looks right on the water.
This is a wonderful little cottage right on the water. It's such a beautiful view that it's hard to pull yourself away. The bus stop is right across the street, making for easy access to all the sights. You may even be greeted by their cat. If you get a chance, make sure to have the breakfast. It was delicious, and Truls was very kind and welcoming. Our only disappointment was that the bed under the widows was not working. Our son enjoyed the loft, though, with the view of the sky. I would recommend this property to anyone visiting Oslo.

You couldn't ask for a more beautiful location to stay! Incredible! Public transport just outside door - easy to get to and fro Oslo. Truls and Kare were so nice and helpful. If you are headed to Oslo, would highly recommend staying here!
