Cheerful welcome. Convenient location. Off-road parking.
The mattress in our room was in a poor state - saggy and uncomfortable. We did not sleep well.

4 of us stayed in the suite. 2 double rooms and 1 twin.
Nice kitchen and lounge area.
Pub was excellent. Games room in the basement. Can imagine it's great in the summer too - huge decking and picnic tables. (We didn't quite have the weather for outdoors!)

The area is great.
We stayed at The Grapes in Oct’ 23, having booked one of the ‘cottages’ for a week. When we arrived we went to the bar to check-in, all good so far. The lady who checked us in asked us what time we would like breakfast each morning, and as we were told breakfast was served until 9:30am we arranged for 9:15am. We were then shown to our cottage.
Upon entering the ‘cottage’ it was cramped, dark and felt grubby.
We ate in the pubs restaurant on our first evening, having booked a table for 7:00pm. When we got there it was very busy & we had to wait for a while for our table, which we understood as the place was packed so we thought we’d be in for a treat with the food. Unfortunately we were very disappointed, when it eventually came it was average at best. The chips with the meal were of poor quality & dripping in grease & we both felt quite ill after eating.
Breakfast is advertised as ‘continental’ & a cooked option. We came down at our agreed time of 9:15 & were welcomed and asked if we would like tea/coffee by a pleasant lady.
The continental really isn’t a continental breakfast. We both ordered a cooked option. The scrambled eggs were very salty & the mushrooms were ‘watery’, the bacon and beans both looked & tasted as though they’d been under a heat lamp too long. A disappointing start to the day. For the first 3 mornings we were at least able to get something to eat at the agreed time of 9:15am & were served by the same lady. On Wednesday we came through for breakfast at 9:15am & were met by another woman who, after asking if we were staying at the hotel told us, rudely, that the kitchen closed at 9:00am & we couldn’t have breakfast.
By Thursday morning we couldn’t take it anymore & checked out 2 days early, we took the keys to the same lady as on the Wednesday. She wasn’t interested in why we were leaving early.
In conclusion, there’s nothing to recommend The Grapes hotel.

We stayed in a cottage which was great and just away from the main building. It was very quiet and very comfortable. Our biggest compliment we have and what stood out for us was the bar/Restaurant Manager (I'm sorry I didn't catch his name) was absolutely amazing. From the moment he showed us to our accommodation to the time he finished at the end of the night, he had a smile on his face the entire time. He didn't stop all night and nothing was too much trouble, when people turned up with no booking, he just smiled and calmly sorted everything out, nobody went away unhappy and everybody was accommodated in the most professional and friendly way. The way he run that restaurant was just a joy to watch. The breakfast was lovely and all the staff were so friendly. The food was stunning, the best Moules Mariniere I have ever had and a big potion. It was a shame the weather was so bad when we were there as the outside area looked fantastic and I can imagine in the sun it would be a very relaxing and restful place to sit and have food and a drink. Had a great nights sleep and would definitely stay there again.

breakfast was fine and the bar area very good.
The hotel itself needs a good clean up, including the rooms, toilets , light fittings, showers etc. The food is ok but nothing special.

Fantastic hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Perfect for us as a stay over the night before Snowdon, which was just 40mins drive away.
Room was very nice and clean.
Restaurant is lovely and served us a very good meal, lots of choices available on the menu.
We were leaving early and as this was before breakfast the staff offered us a packed lunch instead. This was very tasty and just what we needed after climbing Snowdon.
Thank you! Would recommend and visit again.

The location is excellent as it is on the edge of Snowdonia, the Lleyn Peninsula and the Cardigan Bay coast. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were very good and dinners were excellent and good value. Nice atmosphere in the bar and restaurant.
The double room was adequate but small with very limited space for luggage and clothes.

This was a beautiful property. We booked a one bedroom cottage and it was amazing! We had our own lounge area, separate to the bedroom and a bathroom. The bedroom had a lovely double bed and it was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and tidy. The views were incredible and the food was very yummy. The staff at the Grapes hotel were very helpful and friendly. Even put out breakfast in a takeaway box for us as we were running late to an activity that we booked. They were super helpful.
Luckily we brought our own shower supplies as the hotel only supplied hand soap.
