Caroline Lodging is a great all-inclusive hostel. It has a a great family vibe with the owners being very helpful in trip planning and matching the guests who have similar plans. the breakfast is great and the prices for all services are more than fair. There is a really nice rooftop and the kitchen and cozy chill out area are great to hangout and meet people. Arriving at 4am was no problem and I was shown to my room immediately without having to pay an extra night and even got breakfast the next morning.

Absolutely my favorite hostel so far the staff were really nice and helpful especially Paul the owner who helps everyone with everything and have insane amount of information about every single trail in the area. Also they serve breakfast that changes every day to keep things interesting.
The only downside is the shared kitchen. It's pretty small and it's not possible for more then 2 people to cook at the same time
4.5
They arrange nice breakfast, they even manage to get me gluten free nice breakfasts. Good tips and information about the hikes.
The beds are a little bit too hard for my taste.
4.5
Very welcoming space. Staff are incredible. Paul can speak 7 languages comfortably and gives the best and honest trekking advice. Easy to get washing done. Small but lovely breakfasts. Really loved this place and thought it was good value for money!

Paul and Anita were amazing !!! 1- they prepared vegan breakfast just for us and every day was something different 2- Paul helped us to not get scammed by a tour operator and he advised us on the treks 3- he organised the treks for us 4- every member of the family/staff were so kind and helpful
You can’t flush toilet paper down to the toilet which make us uncomfortable (as other places in Huaraz)

Great place to stay in Huaraz. quiet location and Paul and the staff were always super happy to help with everything (eg advice on treks, arranging gear/transport etc).
4.5
Beyond the fantastic welcoming and relaxed mini community feeling in the lodging, the best part is all the tips for hiking/ trekking/ climbing and mountaineering. You ll find advices to suit your budget whether in autonomy or in a tour. You can pay directly for the tours and you ll be picked up at the lodging door. Simply amazing hosts and staff.
Nothing I could think off

Staying at Caroline Lodge was like staying with family. Paul and Anita were fantastic hosts, kind, welcoming and accommodating. I made Caroline lodge as my base in Huaraz for nearly 3 weeks. I could always rely on their extensive knowledge of the hikes, treks, and transports. The private rooms provided excellent value for the money, as they were very clean and comfortable, not to mention the wonderful hot water shower.
Thank you very much for your hospitality.
4.5
Paul is a really helpful and kind host, he speaks almost every guests language. You can book tours at the hostel or Paul helps you to do some treks on your own.
Laundry service is good and for a fair price.
It’s always sociable in the kitchen - it can be sometimes a little bit full and noisy there.
4.5
The owner was amazing, he helped plan all of our hikes which really made our stay. Every morning we had a different breakfast which exceeded expectations, not just your standard eggs and bread!
4.5
Great place, lovely staff, good wifi, breakfast basic but good for the price, nice roof top
Hot water in the shower was on/off

Very nice people in a nice little spot. They can help you out if you need any recommendation for trekking and things to do. Very good and abundant breakfast

Excellent check-in and check-out times, perfect when you just arrived in Huaraz with the night bus. During our stay for 7 mornings, didn't get the same breakfast once. Wifi worked perfectly in our room. Cool view on the rooftop. Great tips from the host for hiking trips, and in which order these should best take place. Very nice and friendly staff. The laundry service of the place is ready the same day in the evening.

They let us check in to our room off the night bus at six am and offered us breakfast at no extra charge. The guy that runs the Hostal is a mine of information about the local area. The view from the roof is good. It’s a cheap. The laundry service was good. Plenty of common areas to chill in the main building with some outdoor space. very good information about the hiking and climbing available in the area .
our room was in a different building and sometimes it was different to get in the main building if everyone was busy. our room never got the sun and was literally colder than the outside it was too cold to be in without a coat. The shower was poor. There was building work going on next door which made it hard to sleep. The bed was not comfortable it was really hard. All the reviews raved about the breakfast being good but it wasn’t for me .very poor quality coffee no fruit no juice no choice you got what it was without being asked. one day we got an egg but usually it was just bread and a pancake. The whole place is untidy looks like it needs a good spring clean.
4.5
Breakfast is phenomenal!
Staff is very friendly, Paul is such a helpful person!
Everything is clean, beds aren't comfortable.
And the rooftop with the mountainview is perfect to relax after a hike!

This has been one of my favorite Hostal in Peru. A great vibe full of a lot of Avid hikers. A nice breakfast served every morning.
The staff were very helpful and happy to answer any of your questions. They were also very relaxed. It's really a perfect base for those looking to stay in Huaraz longer.
I highly recommend it.

Amazing place to meet lot of great people ! Super nice breakfast and great terasse to sit and meet people !
Can only recommend !

Excellent advice on treks. Relatively quiet location. Great free breakfast. Clean and quiet dorms.
Not super social, except at breakfast, but that was fine.
4.5
Despite it was so full because of the holidays, I didn´t expect to be treated that well.
the owner made us ALL pancakes for breakfast, and the bathrooms were clean which is someting I really appreciate...In comparison the first place I stayed in, I would DEFINITELY come back there!
just the fact it was full of people from mi city, nothing from the place itself.
4.5
This place is wonderful. A family home in the centre of Huaraz. You are made to feel like one of the family with big communal breakfasts each morning. The breakfast is very good and varied day to day. The shared kitchen is small but great for preparing meals of your own. Very safe and secure, in a quiet part of the city. The roof terrace has stunning panoramic views of the cordillera Blanca. Paul, Anita and their team are all lovely people. Paul in particular was very helpful in providing advice regarding nearby hikes to acclimatise and see the beautiful landscapes. He is very mindful of your safety and ability level. This place is really unique among other hostals. Excellent. The perfect place to stage explorations of the nearby mountains. We wish we could have stayed longer!
Sometimes no hot water in the morning.
4.5
it is quite and a safe place. hot water good wifi and incredible energy and hosts. not to mentions breakfast I would have paid extra for
4.5
Wonderful people (guests + hosts), good breakfast with a view, super flexible (ability to stay in the facilities after checkout)
Kitchen facilities bit old, dirty and limited considering the number of people.
Cleanliness could bit slightly improved.
4.5
Really good and helpful host. Hot showers. Speaks many languages and is doing everything possible for his guests. definitely recommend the stay there. 👍🏻
4.5
The Location is a short walk out of the loud & chaotic city centre.
Paul (the owner) is incredibly helpful, he speaks 7 languages fluently and will help give you the best of what this area has to offer. He understands the mountains & will help you explore them safely, as well as offering all equipment you’ll need to do this if your a rookie/ experienced hiker. He also IS NOT trying to sell you tours :) (only if you absolutely need them)
4.5
Paul and Anita are simply amazing. We arrived at 7am and they checked us into a room and gave us breakfast too. Breakfast was great and there was something different every day. They are so knowledgable on all the local walks and will book everything for you and offer advice.
The room was spacious and although it was a bit cold you have loads of blankets. The shower was really hot too.
Couldn't have asked for anything more.
4.5
The owner (Paul) was very kind to us and gave us a lot of really useful information about hikes etc.
Even though the price was cheap, so we didn't expect anything luxurious, I would still expect it to be a little bit cleaner. The room was ok, but toilet (shower for example) and kitchen utensils and plates (which were all very sparse) weren't really clean.
