About this house rental
Zalia Wight is the latest addition to the small collection of private, luxury holiday homes in the Zalia Retreats portfolio.. A secret house, with light, space and sea views, luxurious although with a ‘beach shack’ vibe.
Within easy reach of London and excellent fast roads from the North. Your holiday starts as you board the ferry; from either Portsmouth Quay to pretty Fishbourne, or from Lymington Marina to the pier at Yarmouth or the sailors' route from Southampton to Cowes.
There is the special micro climate of which this area of Wight boasts , giving bright, warm days even in February and long sun filled days for summer holidays.
The two bedroom, two bathroom house sits in its own terraced garden which is essential to its charm. The steps at the end of the garden begin the short walk to the beach or along the coastal walk to Ventnor.
Floor to ceiling windows give glorious views of the garden and sea ; on rain soaked days you still feel part of the outdoors and on sunny days you can fold them right back and live both in and outside.
In this open plan living space is a pretty little stove, easy to light and heart warming . Of course the house also has a new and efficient central heating system which supplies heat and masses of hot water.
Oak flooring in this room is complemented by a stylish blue tweed sofa and other contemporary pieces.
There is a good wifi Internet connection with Sky HD television and a DVD player.
EATING
The dining table has more than enough space for six to eat indoors. Simple white crockery, cutlery with linen napkins and masses of glassware, makes serving easy. Everything, bar the super kitchen knives, will go into the dishwasher.
In the generous and uncluttered kitchen it is a pleasure to prepare food. Stunning colours in the wall tiles and Moorish patterned floor tiles have transformed this work space. There are all the big appliances you would expect - a tall fridge/freezer with a chilled, drinking water facility, a spotless oven and hob set into the wooden work top, ceramic sinks, plus a dishwasher and washing machine
SLEEPING AND BATHING
The bedrooms lead off a corridor . Everything has been painted predominantly chalk white to reflect the coastal light but both bathrooms feature colour and amazing tile work.
The second bedroom has full-size twin beds (which can convert into a super king-size double) with top quality mattresses, super pillows and White Company bed linen.
There is a generous wet room with rainfall shower, loo and washbasin across the corridor.
The main bedroom probably has the greatest charm in that it is dominated by a splendid view across the garden and village to the sea. From this room you have your own door onto the deck. A super king-size double bed, excellent mattress with wonderful pillows and again, White Company bed linen. This room has another space, a magical daybed in the window. It was created to make a quiet spot to laze and gaze. This could be made up into a child’s full-sized single ‘cubby bed’ at your request.
This bedroom has private access to a wet room, with large bath, rainfall shower, loo and washbasin.
The owners are pleased to offer Orla Kiely handwash throughout this Zalia house.
OUT OF DOORS
Step out from the living space or from your bedroom onto a newly installed deck, shaded by palms and with sufficient space to imagine you really are 'beside the sea' in your own 'beach hut'. You still, however, have access to all the facilities of the house and can keep an eye on any of your children who may be playing on the lawns below. A lower deck has space for the large garden dining table and benches.
Lawns and pebbles are terraced with planting to add interest to the space and all lead to a secret flight of stone steps in the far corner of the garden which begin the path to the beach.

Immaculately clean property with stunning views and well-equipped amenities, perfect for a relaxing getaway.

It was a pleasure staying at Zalia Wight. It was spotlessly clean and had everything you could need for an enjoyable stay. We used the bus services quite a bit as the stops were just along from the property so didn't need our car. Local pub Bonchurch Inn was really nice and worth a visit. Both Ventnor and Shanklin had a good selection of bars and restaurants. Joseph has a great welcome pack which gives good recommendations. What I liked most about the property was the quality of everything from the fans / hair straightener in the bedrooms to the kitchen utensils. All good quality and reliable. We are a family of three and all agreed this was the best property we had rented and we've been staying in rented holiday accommodation for years.

ZarliaWight is a beautiful, modern house well positioned to explore the Island. Not the easiest place to find but once located we had a super holiday.

What a beautiful property with outstanding views. It was so quiet that we could have been the only people on earth. The house was immaculately clean and beautifully furnished. Highly recommend

Zalia Wight is a beautiful property, tucked away overlooking Ventnor. Beautifully presented, spotlessly clean, very comfy beds and plenty of large towels (always a bonus).
Other reviewers mentioned the parking space is tight, so we were expecting it, and parked on the road for most of the visit - which isn't a problem as there is plenty of space.
The garden is lovely. Lots of steps up and down into the house and garden, but the view is glorious.
There is no welcome pack provided, which would have been helpful to know in advance, so no milk or bread. I mentioned this to the owner who said they don't do it to avoid waste. I don't think £5 on milk and a loaf is waste, but that's their decision. It just would have been helpful to know before we arrived and had to go out again to find a shop.
Overall, lovely place and very well equipped.

It was just what we needed, a perfect few days away. A lovely cosy place with everything you need. The log fire was so good keeping us warm.
It was spotlessly clean, very large and comfortable bed.The hosts are very quick to reply. We walked into ventnor each day only takes about 20 minutes. We will definitely be returning.

We had a lovely week staying at Zalia Wight. The property was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, crockery etc for cooking. There were nice indoor and outdoor spaces for the family to enjoy, including 2 luxurious bathrooms for the 4 of us and a superb outdoor seating area to enjoy the views when the weather permitted. There was a cafe 5 minutes walk away and we enjoyed some beautiful walks nearby down to the Wishing seat, up Nansen Hill for breathtaking views and down to Monks Bay. Thank you!

We were so impressed with the property, it's well furnished, suberb modern bathrooms and kitchen very well equipped.
We were lucky to have beautiful weather and so could take full advantage of the deck area and garden with its lovely views.
I know there have been a few comments on parking but if you just back in it's no problem and plenty of space for an SUV.
Communication with Joseph was excellent thank -you

Wonderful Stay!
My father and I spent a wonderful week at Zalia Wight. The house is light, bright and modern, with everything you need to make your stay both comfortable, and a delight. The outside space - deck and landscaped garden makes this property an oasis, with wonderful sea views framed by the colourful garden planting. Joseph and his team of support were excellent in their communication and in making our stay the relaxed holiday it should be. The only slight problem were the steps to the front and rear of the property which my 93 years young father struggled with, but the house and views more than made up for this. My sat nav was not helpful in enabling me to locate the property which is tucked away down a gravel drive, off Leeson Road, but Moira & Alex were very helpful with helping me find it. Access in and out with a car is snug, but doable with a small/medium car. We managed with our Honda Jazz. We loved our stay at Zalia Wight. Thank you Joseph, Moira and Alex for the Zalia Wight experience of a little bit of heaven for the week.

just perfect
...we had a great holiday.
Very nice house and small garden. Just like the pictures..
Parking (with a Volvo XC90) was no problem, but required some maneuvering). However we usually took the shortcut and used street parking.
Joseph was a perfect host - always responsive and helpfull.

Very cozy!
We just came back from a lovely half term holiday at Zalia Retreats. It is very well located and we could enjoy looking out the ocean from the rooms as well as a very well maintained terrace. The kitchen and the living & dining room is spacious and so cozy that we all spent most of the time at the property cooking and playing games together. Isle of Wight is a wonderful place and this property is highly recommended!

Wonderful accommodation and a very restful stay. Amazing views and a real sun trap on the decking. Well equipped and spotlessly clean. Excellent communication from Joseph. Perfect for all of us and wish we could stay longer!

Hidden Gem
We had a great five night stay, property was very clean and well maintained with great views and a lovely little garden. Only slight minus of the location is the very small assigned parking spot, whilst it could technically accommodate our large car it was a challenge reversing out of the narrow lane onto the road so we parked on the street for the rest of the trip. The steps down to the house, and from the back gate, would also be a challenge potentially for anyone with mobility issues. We, however, loved our stay and the host was very responsive.

Retreat
The house is spacious and modern with comfy beds and sofas, fire box, great kitchen and bathrooms with huge windows facing out to the sea though views of the garden. Felt light and spacious and in good condition. We hunkered down during storm Eunice with storm raging in front of us we felt safe and warm with the fire on.

Beautiful place to stay
House, views and garden beautiful. Parking fine if you have a small car, steps down to the property are Ok but a picture would be helpful when deciding to book property, especially for young children and older people. Our 95 year old is spritely so she managed it.

Stunning scenery and upmarket accommodation
Zalia Wight is a beautiful, upmarket holiday property, with a lovely split level garden and stunning views. The entrance to the parking space is a little snug so care needed when pulling in off the road. A good base to explore the island.

Amazing place to rest and reboot
A wonderful break and beautiful views. I can’t think of a better place to recharge and explore.

Very pleasant, high standard and spacious property, we had a great stay there. The house is comfortable with nice sea views, particularly in the living room and master bedroom. It's well equipped. Very happy with it!
A little thing to note is that we like our rooms to be very dark at night (and help the kids wake up not too early), and especially in the twin bed room the curtains let quite a lot of light through to our taste. The owner did say he'll consider changing the curtains for more opaque ones though.

Clean comfortable cottage
Zalia Wight was a lovely cottage, very clean & comfortable for our short stay. The beds were great & the bathrooms had lovely bath products. The deck & garden were perfect to relax in after seeing the sights of the island. I would definitely recommend the cottage to others & would stay again.

Great place to explore
The directions for parking and keys were clear and easy to follow. The house was clean and inviting and the view made us all smile. We went exploring on the costal path at the bottom of the steps immediately. The property is well a placed base for the rest of the island.

Zalia Bonchurch
Absolutely beautiful property and we enjoyed every minute of our stay, with stunning views and a lovely space to enjoy.
We would love to stay again but unfortunately we feel a 25% increase on the same 2 weeks next year is too much. I understand during lockdown the property lost income and there has been a bigger demand for properties in the UK since, but we feel this increase is too much.
regards,
Paul

The property is near flawless - it is equipped very well and to a high standard. My only reservation is the location as it is a mile to the sea or nearest shops
