We appreciated the style and theme of the building and the rooms.
The owner was very welcoming.
It's a cosy place and our suite, consisting of 2 rooms, was very spacious.
The breakfast was very nice and consisted of fresh products; some prepared on the spot.
The location of this B&B is excellent and the nearby secured parking is a big plus.
The mattress was very soft; this may be preferred by some, but we would have liked it to be firmer.
The location right in the city center on a busy street also comes with a small drawback: the bedroom on the front side of the building does get noise from the street.

Lovely location overlooking the abbey. Very close to the market. Breakfast was delicious and the host was professional and accommodating.

Wonderfully central, full of character (and stairs which go with the character). Great for walking in Caen.
Nothing they could help. We had a lot of trouble trying to find on-street parking for long enough to get their card for free parking, and in the end just went to the very good and close underground car park, which is not expensive. I would advise doing the same if you hit the same problem - it's no big deal.

Fantastic location , very clean and comfortable. Friendly owners

Warm welcome - nothing was too much trouble. Clean, tasteful, well appointed room in a beautiful property with stunning views. Excellent location. Superb breakfast. Very convenient, safe underground parking.
Nothing. Everything was perfect.

We loved being there. Our room was spacious with French windows onto the garden and a huge lounge with sofa. Beautiful decor and very comfortable bed. Despite being large the rooms wer
e very warm. Breakfast in the first floor dining room was excellent. Our host Segolen was charming.
The bathroom with shower was a little small. The lighting was quite subdued so not too good to read by.

The room was spacious & very clean with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was a standout.

the family who run the place are second to none. position excellent . room clean private and romantic. the sons of our hosts were a delight very polite and always acknowledged us in passing. but the clincher for us is the garden just beautiful
six flights of stairs to get to our room every step worth it

Friendly hosts, grande old building, quaint in style. French style breakfast was lovely.
Excellent location for Caen centre, lots of restaurants, bars, shops, sight seeing.
No negatives for us.

lovely welcome from the owner, especially as we arrived quite late.
excellent breakfast with beautifully cooked scrambled eggs plus all the usual French breakfast items.
great location in the city centre
attic bedroom was clean and ok but up a lot of stairs. rather odd having kettle and tea bags etc in a locked room next door where no plug socket!

Super cosy room with a magnificent view on the Abbey in a beautifully restored historic house. The hostess is lovely and the breakfast was great.

Great location. Friendly efficient host. Good breakfast.

This location is wonderful for exploring Caen. The hotel was fantastic and the host, Ségolen, was exceptional. Our Ferry was delayed for nearly five hours, and we didn’t arrive before 2:30 Am. She greeted us like old friends, and fixed us a full breakfast the next morning.

The breakfast was excellent and served in an excellent room. Madame Maillot was extremely attentive to our needs and wishes. Very hospitable. The house overlooks the magnificent Abbaye Des hommes and St Etienne church, where William the Conqueror was buried.
The house was very tastefully appointed, very quiet and private.
Quite difficult to find the exact location and to find a free space to stop and collect garage keys as house is on a main road.

A lovely stay. They were so welcoming, the room was beautiful, the location was great and the breakfast was delicious!

Fantastic host and wonderful location.
Everything was perfect.

The situation of the accomodation was perfect for exploring Caen.
The hostess was extremely kind and effecient. Communication prior to and during our stay was excellent. There were a number of stairs to negotiate in the property but the hostess was helpful in assisting with luggage.
The room en suite was large, clean and well equipped and furnished simply with a mixture of antique and modern furniture. The bed, again, was large and very comfortable. The shower room was well equipped and the shower effective.
Although the room overlooked the road the double glazing was effective and we were not disturbed by traffic noise.
There were tea facilities and bottled water provided. A nice touch.
Breakfast was very good with a good selection of pastries and bread and conserves. Cereal and yogurts were available and we were offered choices of freshly squeezed juice and ham and cheese to accompany a choice of cooked eggs.
Breakfast was unrushed and complimented by real linen table clothes and napkins and nice china which enhanced a French breakfast experience as did the attention of the hostess.
Suggestions of where to dine lived up to expectations and a nice spontaneous touch was that when we returned from the evening one of the hostesses children wished us good night.
We felt very comfortable in the accomodation and in area. Free parking was a bonus in a city.
Overall an exceptional two nights stay to look around a city we normally bypass to get to the ferry terminal.
We hope to return soon. Thank you.
Nothing to dislike

The breakfast was delightful. The location was marvellous. I really loved the style of the room and furnishings. It was equally very clean, very comfortable. The host was extremely polite, welcoming and willing to help when I asked about a local tram stop. I highly recommend staying here.
One of the light switches turned on a lamp on the other side of the room, but it didn't work if the lamp switch wasn't already 'on'. I also struggled a little to find an appropriate plug for the kettle.

Spacious and clean. Comfortable bed. Good location, restaurant nearby.

If you like the spirit of French history this is an excellent choice to stay. Situated next to the ancient abbey of Caen, the room is very stylish and has all the facilities. The hostess Ségolen is truly welcoming and caring. The location is excellent next to city center and the room has actual view towards the beautiful city hall. Highly recommended.

The B&B is in a great location (very easy walking distance from most attractions and the pedestrian zones in Caen), beautiful and furnished with some wonderful antiques. Segolene, the owner was very friendly and helpful - she for example recommended some great places to eat (La Cortine and Le P'tit B were our clear favourites). It was also great that a free ticket for parking in the local car park (2mins walk away) was included in the price. The breakfast was good and the fresh baguettes and croissants every morning a real treat!
We were surprised that the room wasn't cleaned / towels not changed daily (in our 4 day stay, the room wasn't cleaned and the sheets & towels not changed at all). Maybe we misunderstood this from the booking, so this might have been our fault. Also, the bath in the bigger room is quite small and you have to squeeze into the shower. Overall we felt that it was a bit too expensive for what the B&B offered.

Great building, perfect location, amazing owner(s). We had a lovely stay here and would definitely visit again! Close proximity to the historic quarter but not too loud at night. Great base location for visiting museums etc in and around Caen.
