Perched on a cliff high above the Guadalupe River is the picturesque Clutter Falls Retreat. This custom built river retreat offers spectacular hill country views with soothing sounds of the rapids and falls below. Clutter Falls Retreat offers two houses the Main House and the Guest House each property offers privacy and is reserved separately. The Guest House located in New Braunfels offers a perfect location for a romantic or small getaway.

This Charming two story A-frame property offers everything one could need for a relaxing vacation. With carefully chosen pieces this home has a rustic upscale river home feel. The beautiful wood plank ceiling gives this guest house a cozy warm feel. Appreciate the beautiful views of the river from almost every angle of the home. Guests will find plenty of room for sleeping with two spacious bedrooms and one and a half baths.

The kitchenette hosts a microwave and mini fridge offering just enough accommodation to prepare quick snacks or enjoy a cup of coffee. Guests will sleep soundly in one of the two sleeping spaces. The master hosts a queen bed with a memory foam topper. The upstairs open loft offers two twin beds perfect for children. Relax in the comfortable living area that offers beautiful views, a large screen television, and a comfortable sofa.

For a romantic evening, enjoy delicious takeout while dining al fresco at the charming outdoor seating. For an evening under the stars, relax in the inviting private hot tub located on the front deck overlooking gorgeous hill country views. Guests will find this home to be the perfect escape after a busy week.

Looking for an outing for the day, Clutter Falls is less than a mile from the historic Gruene Hall, enjoy music and dancing, or dine at the delicious Gristmill Restaurant. Gruene offers an outdoor market, wine tasting, and many delicious restaurants. Only minutes away is New Braunfels with plenty to do: float the beautiful Guadalupe River, rent paddle boats or picnic at Landa Park, swim at the Spring Fed Pool, spend the day at Schlitterbahn Water Park, or visit one of the local wineries or breweries for wine or beer tasting. Visit Wimberley and spend the day shopping in the downtown square, swimming, and hiking at the famous Jacobs Well, Zip Line Adventure, or Blue Hole regional Park offers swimming and nature trails. Canyon Lake is only 30 minutes away and there is plenty of outdoor fun to be found. The James C Curry Nature preserve is great for hiking, or biking trails. Canyon Lake offers daily pontoon and boat rentals and so much more.

Property was exactly as advertised. Beautiful guest house, very clean and cozy. We enjoyed seeing the deer and fox in the woods. Hot tub is situated nicely overlooking the river. Great stay!

This garage apartment met our needs for a short weekend stay. The response was very good when needed. Just a couple of small issues we faced around the entry using the code system but thankful they had another way to enter. Any longer than a long weekend stay would be tough bc there isn’t a full kitchen or a large fridge. Like the hottub overlooking the river. Kids enjoyed that. Also liked proximity to Gruene Hall and the Guadalupe River.

We really enjoyed the guest house, it was nicely built out and very comfortable. The tiny little hangout under the stairs is a cute touch especially for anyone with little ones. The view looking over the river and surrounding area was very pretty, especially in the early morning hours. The main house is/was unoccupied during our stay so having the property to ourself was a pleasant surprise. The neighborhood is tucked away and quite quiet which is also a bonus. We did get in the hot tub once, but it started sporadically changing settings or turning off on it's own so there may be some electrical issues that need to be addressed. It made us leery about using it again incase there was a short (this could be very serious, please have a professional pool guy/ electrician look at it). Another suggestion is to have some of the trees around the driveway trimmed up for those with larger vehicles, especially where the guest house parking is. I have a truck and couldn't drive into the guest house parking spot without scratching the roof and side of my vehicle a bit. Not a huge deal to me, but others may not be too happy. Cars and smaller SUVs likely wouldn't have an issue. All in all my girlfriend and I would stay here again and not going to knock it for a little bit of overgrowth or the hottub acting up as those are easily remedied and just a heads up for the owner. 5/5

We had a great stay at this property. The sunsets are divine and the hot tub was so relaxing. The garage apartment was clean and had everything we needed for a two night get away. The house is convenient to the cute town of Gruene, and also to New Braunfels. If we ever make our way back I'd happily book here again. If I could change one thing it'd be the mattress. It wasn't compatable with my back and gave me some lower back pain even though it seemed fairly comfortable. But that could be a me thing. Overall it was a great place.

Everything was excellent at the Clutter falls guest house. The only thing that was not great was the shower valve was extremely tough to move and clearly needs to be replaced or at minimum needs to have a new cartridge installed.

The trip to the Texas Hill Country was much needed and so relaxing for my husband and myself. The apartment was a described though we found the distance to Gruene a bit far to walk to and return at night, 1.3 miles. The hot tub was perfect. We would recommend this space and will return.

Was very satisfied. Cabin-like feel and experience. Clean, new, and just the right amount of amenities. LOVED the lit stone border pathway leading to the hot tub. And the all the pathways starting from the driveway, leading to the apartment and around the courtyard. Would definitely stay here again. Just a heads up turn hot tub on in the morning if plan to use in evening. It needs some hours to get above 90 (lukewarm). So lovely.

We were very comfortable in this apartment! The neighborhood is quiet and the view from the hot tub and balcony were great. The bed was very comfortable! The description said it was a mile from Gruene Hall and a 4 minute drive- true! I wish there was a way to walk there the neighborhood is lovely! Also just a note to future visitors the parking is a little tight if you drive a big truck. Our Ford F150 was difficult to get in the allotted parking spot.

We love the neighborhood, the hot tub and view! The friendly deer were an added bonus. However, the upstairs beds are hard as a rock! What a miserable night- I ended up on the couch for the second night. Even kids would be uncomfortable. The floors and beds were clean, but a lot of the house needed a good dusting; the walls had cobwebs, bathroom lights, boat shelf and fish are furry from dust. For the price, the owners can afford to have it cleaned well.

This place is nicely snug away overlooking the Guadalupe river in a very naturesque setting. We loved the small feel. One reason for 4 stars and not 5 is due to the hot tub. It was a major reason for booking this place and for some reason the hot tub would not heat up quickly and it seemed to not clean the water either (filter issue maybe?). Overall a great place to just relax and wind down.

The guesthouse was a great little getaway place. Good size, great location, and sitting in the hot tub at night was so relaxing. The only suggestion for improvement would be the 'dinette' (one can hardly even call it that). It's barely big enough to make that cup of coffee. I would consider offering a little bit more in that area for those that don't want to eat out every single meal during their stay. Otherwise, great little retreat.

All was great but the directions to which property. There are 2 rentals using same driveway. The directions for Guest House were not included, "property on right above garage" would have helped greatly

It was a quick getaway for my husband and I (basically to chill.). The guest house was very quaint and cozy. The bed was comfortable. Overall this place is for someone who just needs a place to lay their head. There is no kitchen. It has a small microwave , toaster and coffee pot. Fridge is a motel size. Very minimal dishes (1 fork). This is all fine if you dont want to cook; and most people going to New Braunfels will be outdoors and on the go most of the time. The driveway is very tight for a truck. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Property is great, views are amazing from the hot tub deck! Bed is as advertised in other reviews. Hot tub was hot unlike other reviews. The only thing not mentioned by others was the water pressure. It was low but manageable. Other than that, the property is great! One other note- parking is limited so a 3/4 ton truck is not optimal but workable.

This is a gorgeous little place. Convenient to downtown Gruene. Quiet neighborhood setting right on the river, and the deer are amazing. Quick response from the property management and owner when needed. We really enjoyed our stay.

The only complaint we have is not enough towels for the amount of days we stayed. A clean exchange would have been nice. Also, the biggest complaint is that we would have liked to have enjoyed the hot tub- that with a river view was a major selling point for us, and made the price worth it. However, the jets do not all work nor does the water get hot. In the Fall, it's hard to enjoy when the water was as cool as it was. We are familiar with hot tubs, and knew how to adjust the temp- so it wasn't that. There are a couple of small trees just off the cliff- that if removed would make for a much better view. This is a great property, I do not want to take away from that, but it could have been much more enjoyable.
