About this house rental
Escape to this unique and serene streamside haven which is enveloped in nature’s seclusion near Lake Rotorua. This property also features on my 2 Lakes Holiday Rental site if your preference is to deal directly without fees. Here you can enjoy carefree, contemporary living away from the noise of the city with birdsong by day, the flurry of ducks at sunset and dark, peaceful nights.
With room to accommodate 12 guests, the substantial 400m2 home is gorgeous, warm, and inviting with a fabulous feel and central heating to keep you warm. The home also has 2 large wood burner fireplaces for extra heating and atmosphere. In the heat of summer, you can keep cool with the aircon situated in the living/kitchen/dining area! The house is set on one easy family-friendly level with 6 large bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and 4 toilets located in two separate wings with the living area in the centre. Linen is supplied and you will have been charged for this.
The gourmet kitchen is fitted with modern, upmarket conveniences and the family room and dining area opens to a sun-filled patio.
There’s a separate TV lounge, (Netflix can also be accessed on the large TV) and the massive garage has been set up as a gym and a games room complete with a full-sized billiard table, ping pong, exercycle walker, TV, and just perfect for rainy day fun with a new log-burner to keep you warm in winter.
When you feel like venturing out, there are so many activities to experience in this popular lakeside neighborhood with a jetty and boat ramp nearby. Paddleboarding, kayaking, and boating on Lake Rotorua, fishing (with a license), or perhaps enjoying a leisurely round of golf at the 9-hole golf course. There’s also plenty of scenic waterfront walking.
The owners have added all kinds of extras to the property including a security access gate, upgraded central heating, a new heat pump, 2 new fireplaces for ambiance, a full-sized billiard table and ping pong, spa pool, and even a massage chair, it just goes on with this owner's wish to make your experience the best! Not to mention the Al paca's, kune kune pig, and chooks. He is likely to give you some fresh farm egss!
There are 2 separate gazebo areas on either side of the house, so you can choose a suitable exterior entertaining area depending on the wind direction.
This idyllic escape is not far off the beaten track, being just a 20-minute drive from Rotorua CBD, 20 minutes from the spectacular Okere Falls, close to tourist attractions, and 45 minutes to Mt Maunganui beach.

There was great communication with Norman and they were able to address all questions we had. We had a wonderful time here. This would be an awesome summer stay with how the garage is set up. We were grateful for the hospitality!

This is a beautiful property in a wonderful location but the cleanliness of the kitchen dining area in particular was not up to standard. Apart from a rat having been resident before we were there with very visual evidence and very bad stench of rat urine there has also been mice evidence in cupboards and cutlery draw. I doubt any of these drawers and cupboards have been cleaned in a long time. I did contact the property manager and he did come back to me but I didn’t consider his reply satisfactory. I paid top dollar to rent this property and definitely expected the conditions to be top notch.

Close enough to town , close enough to the lake and yet still being blessed with the space of the property. Our kids cant stop talking about this holiday and the experience they had, the caretaker was very welcoming, the livestock was a total bonus, spacious interior and exterior such an enjoyable stay all 12 of us were very pleased

We had such an awesome new year at this house they have thought of everything to make your holiday. Perfect for large groups. My niece loved feeding all the animals each day! Plenty of entertainment for all ages and relaxing spaces. Complimentary eggs each day was an added bonus! The only negative for us was the dirty spa pool. But would 100% recommend this house

We were a group of 12 extended family on holiday, 8 adults and 2 kids, the house was great for us all, and exceeded all our expectations!
The pool table, spa pool and table tennis was great for the kids and adults alike, we all had really comfy beds, plenty of space in the bedrooms and space to cook and eat in the kitchen diner, as well as some nice places to chill, the outside patio was a lovely oasis to sit and relax! I would highly reccomend this house to anyone!

Our family of 12, spanning 3 generations from 10-70 years spent an amazing 5 days at Hamurana. It was very spacious allowing us all to find our own space. It has everything you might require when on holiday. The huge games room was very popular, as was the closeness of Lake Rotorua which we enjoyed kayaking on and was within walking distance from the home. The manager and housekeeper were great to communicate with and nothing was a problem.

We had a lovely few days in Hamurana. The house was perfect for exploring the local area and the children loved the games room and alpacas next door. The house was very comfortable and spacious and everything was easy to find.

Everything about this stay far surpassed our expectations. If you're looking for the perfect stay, look no further.
First, Norman, the property manager, made a great first impression. He's a great communicator and wonderful to speak with.
Angela, the housekeeper, created a warm and inviting space on top of working hard to allow us to check in early.
When we arrived, we felt like we had entered our own paradise. Behind the private gate are stunning gardens, native bush, and the sweetest sheep, chickens, and alpacas.
Everything inside the home is impeccably designed without sacrificing comfort. We sank into the oh, so comfortable beds, appreciated the private spa-like bathrooms, and felt like top chefs cooking in the well-appointed kitchen.
In addition to the amenities listed, we were pleasantly surprised by a new hot tub, large billiard table, and the large, new deck overlooking the scenic landscape in the back of the property.
I had the rare opportunity to meet the owner of the property who stopped by to feed the baby alpaca he'd been caring for since it was born. After some great conversation, you would be hard pressed to meet a kinder and more generous person.
The only thing that could've made our experience better was if we had planned to stay longer. If you're looking for the perfect stay, you've found it. Book today!

My girl friends and our mums had a lovely weekend away. Layout of the house is perfect for big groups, we all had plenty of space. And a lovely outdoor area to enjoy a glass of wine and a chat in the peaceful surrounding.

as 2 families staying together - we loved this place. easy to have own space, but yet come together in the different zones - kids loved the games room - but also great to just hang around in one of the sitting areas, the outdoor space was peaceful, and great to see all the wildlife that calls the space home as well. daughter was obsessed with the alpacas in the paddock next door, and all the kids loved feeding the chickens. quiet location, well set up for visitors and overall fantastic place to stay. thanks for having us.

A fantastic property with everything you could need and more. As a group of friends catching up, there was more than enough room for everyone with the added bonus of lovely outdoor areas to enjoy. Would highly recommend this property, we will be back.

Accommodates large groups and is entertaining with pool table and table tennis. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting rotorua. Only 15mins from town. Was amazing. Didn't want to come home. Thank you for having us.

Very happy with the property and location
35$ per person for linen is bit overrated considering the condition of towels and bed linen. Communication with manager was not the greatest experience as started saying "there are other people would rent the property if I don't when inquired about the pricing disparity where the linen was initially advertised as 25$ but invoice was 35$ per person.
Having Central heating would have been better than having small fan heaters, been bit hard having small kids and two consecutive very wet days while sitting.
Otherwise it was a great place for big group to catch up.

We loved the house, well appointed with great amenities, it is everything we expected based on the advertising. This was the perfect base for the six of us to explore the Rotorua region or just stay home and enjoy relaxing in this beautiful home.

Loved our mid-winter stay. The animals were a hit (& easy on-site entertainment for the kids). The house layout makes it a great place for multi-family mini-breaks with great socialising spaces but but space to quietly time out too. We had a great long weekend break here!
