Location and the pupusas in front of the place
Big spiders and insects, the staff weren’t willing to assist

Great location to climb Santa Ana volcano .
You need to take a guide up the volcano. The people at the hotel takes groups but it took forever to get one together.

Great location right by the start of the Santa Ana volcano hike.
The hostel staff organised a house for us to start early before the crowds.
No hot water, which is a little tough when it's so cold in the evening and morning. But at the price, it was OK.

It’s very centric. A few steps to the trail. In front of the food stands.
It would be great if they had wifi

The people in charge are super nice and can point you in the right direction for things to do
The puppers kept us awake a bit, only because one of them slept as our guard on the mat at the door. Not a deal breaker

Great location, just a few minutes drive to Cerro Verde park. So quiet and cosy. Everyone was friendly and helpful ☺️
For the price, it was great. We went to have dinner on Cerro Verde and hike Santa Ana the next day. The late check out of 3pm was perfect and the hosts were flexible on our arrival time too. For what we wanted, there were no negatives.

Great location right next to the Santa Ana volcano trailhead, staying here gives you good chance of seeing the volcano crater lake without clouds! Being able to start the hike at 7AM was the only reason why we stayed here and it worked perfectly - we made it to the top before anyone else and had the place for ourselves. The room is very basic and works great for one night stay. We paid for dorm but got a private room as there was no one else in the whole place on a weekday.
There should be a way to call the staff as he was patrolling around and couldn't always be easily contacted.

It's the perfect place to stay overnight if you want to do the Santa Ana volcano hike, so you don't need to take the 7:30 bus in the morning. The guides gather literally in front of this accommodation. The bus passes in front of the accommodation en that's also where you find a bunch of food stalls. Location couldn't be better. The bed was very comfortable too. They allow you to check out in the afternoon after the hike, which allows you to take a shower and chill until the bus arrives.
The shower could have been cleaner, There is no wifi nor can you cannot with your data bundle (a few steps away from the property you can connect with your data bundle though). Not a negative thing, but it can get cold here, so bring some warm clothes.

This hostel is in a perfect location for hiking to Santa Ana. The rooms are very basic. A little sprucing up would help elevate guest experience.
The fleece blankets are too thin for the cold weather.

Guide for Volcán Santa Ana congregate at El Tibet from around 8am and head out in groups toward the ticket office then the hike itself. There are food stalls across the road great for breakfast however all stalls closed around 4pm.
The upstairs room was not insulated (light enters through the roof tiles) and it was freezing cold. We requested extra blankets … for $1 each extra. There is no bottled water in the room but you can buy some at the “kiosk”. If you want an evening meal drive up the road for about 10 minutes and enter the national park. Pay the entry ($1.50 each) and you have a choice of a very upmarket resort or a cafe. The cafe closed at 7pm the night we went but the ritzy restaurant was ok (pay $2 each to enter but it’s deducted from the restaurant bill). Nice pizzas.

It's a good place to stay for a night if you are planning to climb both volcanos. The rooms are simple but clean and everything works, even the hot water. The bus from Santa Ana stops right at the place and it's basically the starting point for going to Santa Ana Volcano. There are street food places right in front for having breakfast or dinner. There is no mobile connection at all but you can go up to a viewpoint which is part of the El Tibet. There you can use your phone while having a nice view.
Can be a bit cold at night because they just have thin blanket. So keep that in mind.

Great value for you get. We got the deluxe room for 5 adults and my babygirl. We had a small house pretty much to ourselves. We came for the volcano hike and it was right next to it which was a nice win. The house comes with a dining area, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and open bedroom area. Beds were good enough to sleep on nothing fancy which is what we wanted and we really just used the beds and bathroom during our stay. They had hammocks and outdoor furniture to hangout as well that we used. They have breakfast cafeteria for 5 bucks or you can go across the street for other food as there are many stands. The best part was the staff there. We were in constant contact with them asking for confirmations, asked for a really late check in time and even called for assistance with directions as we got lost on the way. Staff pointed us to a solid guide for the hike up the volcano and to good eating spots around the area. Great stay and adventure to us.
Kitchen was kind of dirty but we didn’t use it, fridge needs to be cleaned.

Great view from the lookout. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Super convenient location for hiking.
Lack of cellphone signal and no wifi but is to be expected if you read the description.

Very unprofessional staff who are kicking you out as soon as you wake up! Place is horrible, no water, had to go to another room to shower and when there was water in my room I got a few electric shock! Never coming back here!! Do not spend your money in this place!

A very kind welcome and a willingness to be helpful.
There was no running water from evening until morning. Also no toilet paper. The staff disappeared from the property around 8 pm, locking the parking lot gates. Late checkins blared their horns for 30 + mins to get in. The bedding was 100% polyester. The furnishings very spare. No WiFi, no cell service, does not take credit cards, cash only, which was a surprise and big problem.
