We used this as a home base to travel Southern Ireland.

This cottage was the perfect place for my son and I to stay and go out to visit Cork, Limerick and Kilkenny. Extremely comfortable place to stay and wonderful communication with the owner as we had a couple of things we had questions about. Loved Kilfinane, even though we didn't spend much of our week there. But views and ambiance were great to come home to each evening.

I was looking for a good value stay as a base for myself, my brothers and their partners for us to go to a few events in Limerick. The bungalow ticked all the boxes.
Spacious rooms, equipped well enough for a few days stay for us, longer would have been fine. Good internet, easy parking on the street outside. It's the last house on a dead-end road, so no traffic. The shop in the village is only a short walk away and is well stocked.
4.9
The house was spacious and comfortable. Probably more appropriate for self catering as there’s only Molly’s nearby for meals after lunchtime ((latest 7:00 for takeout)

The proximity of the property to family we were visiting in Kilfinane made it absolutely ideal before we even opened the door! The fact that we have already made a repeat booking speaks to how much we liked about everything else.

Located at the end of a Cul De Sac with ample parking.
Spacious bedrooms, and kitchen.
It worked out well with it's location for our Family travels.

We used the house as a home base for day trips in the region-worked out perfectly. Cozy house at the end of a very quiet, dead-end street. Host is responsive to inquiries and assistance with the house.

Location was really convenient. Good local pubs. House was tidy and well appointed. Good back yard for children. Bathroom has some mould issues, which I am sure Colin is aware of and trying to rectify. Easy to park in the street. We would stay here again.

Enjoyed the cottage, at the end of the street

Stayed here while visiting family. Beautiful quiet area while close to shops etc.
I would definitely recommend this accommodation which was very cosy and clean. The host was very helpful and prompt with any queries. It was a very smooth check in & check out process.
Hopefully we will be able to return soon.

The house clean and spacious and close to a nice little town where we could shop etc. Also convenient to local hiking and a quick train trip from Tipperary to Dublin.

Great place, all facilities at the house, short walk to town and supermarket.Friendly locals and pubs, great people and interesting country walks around the area.

The property was great, very easy to use, clean and comfortable.
The pots and pans were scraped to within an inch of their used-to-be non-stick lives. That and the edging bits of shower mold were the only disquieting parts of the stay. Neither stopped us from using them.

The O’Shea’s have a gem with this house. Quiet. Quaint. Well apportioned rooms. Gorgeous views of mountains, valleys…. A real dream for those who desire the ‘off the beaten path’ or rural Ireland. (No one outside the town will have heard of Kilfinane btw)
There is not enough room in this page to describe how lovely this house was.
Many thanks!

Love this house! After staying in tiny apartments during our 10 days traveling in Ireland it was nice to have so much space to spread out and relax. 3 bedrooms and all the kitchen appliances you could need! Plus a washer and dryer!! Super clean and perfect location to walk into town.

The house has everything you need. It is very well appointed. It is very clean and everything is very new and usable
And the steps know that they have been done a very good indeed, with a very safe handrail as well
We loved everything about it in a quiet area at the end of a cul-de-sac, a very enjoyable stay. Thank you

I'm staying with my kids for a short vacation. The house was cozy with 3 bedrooms, enough space for us. We could easily park in front of the house. It is lovingly and modern furnished and cozy warm. The kitchen was fully equipped. I could easily reach the shops on foot. The area invites you to nice walks with a beautiful view and an impressive church. Communication with the owner Collin was uncomplicated and very friendly. I warmly recommend it.

We had a great time and enjoyed our stay in this lovely and comfortable house which is set in a lovely quiet cul de sac. Not far from Charleville & Mitchelstown where you can find all the necessities and various shops. Based in great central location to visit Limerick, Cork, Tipperary and Shannon. Thank you Colin for your prompt replies and assistance, looking forward to the next!!

We were based here for 9 days while exploring the area. Google and Apple maps had a bit of trouble with the location, better when using the Irish name for the street. Pitted and worn concrete steps up to the house need some attention, mattress in larger bedroom needs replacing or at minimum turned but otherwise we enjoyed our stay here and would likely return. Good kitchen area, good washer, good shower. Very comfortable space.

Had a great holiday.Property fine, just needs a few improvements.New iron plus clothes line would help.

Quaint and quiet
Wonderful base for day trips as situated 1/2 way between Cork and Limirick. Some nice walks close by. The cottage has all one needs with comfortable beds and well stocked kitchen. We particularly enjoyed the village with a good restaurant called Molly’s, a take away called tasty bites and a well stocked shops. Several pubs and many very friendly folks. Thanks!

Great property and location
Exactly where we wanted to be. Property was great and the owners even left the heating on for us as we were arriving quite late in the evening. Would definitely stay again when visiting family.

Great place for a family vacation
We stayed in this lovely place with our three kids. The house was nice and clean and in a good location (nice quiet street with cows grazing on a nearby pasture but still very close to a supermarket). There were also a number of board games and DVDs to keep you entertained on a rainy day. We had a great time and would definitely recommend it.

My family and I had an amazing time in Kilfinane, The house was exactly as we imagined it, a home from home, in fact my daughter practically stayed in 'her room' lol. It's also the perfect base if ur exploring Ireland, but for us, the best thing was coming back to our 'home' as we called it :) Colin is extremely easy to talk to, and is an excellent host and his uncle Walter is also a lovely man. We had a little mishap (our car broke down, and we left the house keys in the car) I rang Colin, explained this to him and was put to ease straight away, Uncle Walter drove round and gave us his set, so thanks again. Everything u need is in this little gem of a house, Oh and also it's a very hot house, U literally do not need the heating on, it's that hot! Lol. Thanks again Colin for allowing us to stay in ur lovely home. Meg :) PS.. The back bedroom has THEE most comfortable mattress I've EVER lay on, literally did not want to get out of bed lol

We loved our time in Kilfinane. The house was perfect for our needs. 2 double beds and 3 single with an option for a fourth single which we didn't need. 5 minute walk to the village for groceries. We were there during Covid restrictions but there were 2 pubs open and the grocery store and 2 take away's. Our 1st evening we went to get food at Tasty Bites and the pub O'Shaughnessy's allowed us to eat in their open space in the back. The owners were really accommodating and friendly as were all those we met. Another night we got food at Mollys and went to O' Shaughnessy's again to eat. Of course I also had a pint.
There are lots of places that are easy to get to from Kilfinane. We saw Mitchelstown cave, Cahir Castle, the Rock of Cashel, Ring in Co. Waterford and Cork city. We didn't get to Limerick city or Kinsale which are also easy day trips. We liked Kilfinane and the surroundings so much we spent 2 days exploring locally which I would advise. There are some beautiful views and towns all around. We found Ballyhora apple farms and had a quick tour around saw where they make their vinegar and got a quick explanation of the process. We also got to hear their future plans. We bought apple juice (apple with beets and apple with parsnip) and loved it.
The owner Colin responded immediately when we had a question. We had difficulty getting the heating working so messaged him. He had Walter, fun sweet man, come over to help us out and we had heating for my California children who had jet lag. The house heated literally within minutes and was really cosy warm the rest of our stay. we were a little disappointed not to be able to use the fireplace but that's a law for rental properties, not up to the owners.
I would highly recommend renting from the Colin and Louise in Kilfanane.
