A really wonderful house with everything we could have needed on hand. Great space, wonderfully clean, fantastic air conditioning, a walk away from the beach, and with the most beautiful outside space. We couldnt have asked for more and we would highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a relaxing stay in Barbados.

Turtles is a great place to stay. A lovely spacious home in a local environment. The house is clean and very well equipped with all the amenities you could possibly need. The spacious, cool balcony is perfect for meals and relaxing. The short cut to the main road for busses or the beach is shorter than expected and very easy. We were three generations of family and all of us enjoyed a wonderful time.

Proper Barbados
Proper Barbados
O how I miss my Turtles ! We are the type of people who if we are visiting another country we like to mix with the locals as much as possible and the location of Gill & Steve's fantastic Villa is perfect for this, every time we left or arrived back from the beach or a night out we were always welcomed with a good morning or good evening and with it just being after New Year we also got Happy New Year reminding me of how we used to be in this country, The Villa was very clean and the outside porch for breakfast and drinks was just brilliant, we even saw the Monkey on a couple of mornings, Dave met us on our arrival which was later than first arranged as we had a delay at Manchester Airport but he was there waiting, and was happy to check up on us through our stay, Make sure you visit his Cafe Bar in Holetown, Steve & Gill were great to communicate with but we never had a problem while we were there, I did see a couple of comments about the hill back to the Villa, I would say it may be a slight problem if your not in the best of health but I'm sixty and have seen better days but I didn't find it a problem apart from the odd bit that didn't have pavement, the short cut to the beach is a bit dodgy if there has been a shower, As for Paynes bay well we think it has to have One of the best beaches on the whole island, All I can say is come and do Barbados the proper way and book Turtles, Till the next time Gill & Steve, We thank you ! Turtles - a great vacation
Turtles - a great vacation
We recently stayed at Turtles on Holders Hill... the house is great in all aspects. Well equipped with everything you need and the outdoor verandah makes the place! Great for morning coffee and evening drinks/dinner! We had a car rental which made it easier to access all the island has to offer and is only a short jaunt to Holetown for groceries and restaurants (and numerous choices on the way)! The fantastic Payne's Bay beach is about a 10 minute walk but you can also drive and park at the Esso or drive to many of the other fantastic beaches close by as well. The walk back is uphill and may not be as enjoyable for those that are not stable on their feet... We had a great vacation and the owners checked in on us by email to make sure all was going well... and Dave was not too far away if there was an issue. Would recommend as a top choice for couples! Having a car is necessary unless you want to use the local ZR's and buses which are close by. The free range roosters in the early morning add to the charm of the place but may be annoying for those who like to sleep in.... thanks... Andrew

Wonderful personal private villa
Wonderful personal private villa
Turtles is a private villa owned by English people. The description is extremely accurate and it is somewhat larger than the photographs on line depict. It is very well equipped and maintained and always being upgraded when the owners visit. All three bedrooms are a good size and there are two identical bathrooms one of which is en suite. It can accommodate up to six adults comfortably. The outside veranda is in our opinion its best feature with good lighting, ceiling fans, and comfortable furniture, which makes for a very pleasant eating outside and relaxing area, particularly in the evenings. Paynes Bay is about six or seven minutes walk away and it is conveniently situated for buses and transport along the west coast. We stayed for three weeks, and look forward to returning in the future. Highly recommended. Thank you Steve, Gill, and Will for allowing us to stay in your "home from home".

Turtles Villa Barbados
Turtles Villa Barbados
Our stay at "Turtles" was excellent. The villa is exactly as descibed and was eminently suitable for our requirements. It is truly only 5 minutes to the exceptionally beautiful Paynes Bay beach on the West Coast of Barbados. It's location is perfect for getting around the island in all directions. The villa is realy beautifully appointed. Features include a large balcony on which we spent many evenings with lovely flowers and palm trees ( and occasional monkeys!) in the surrouding garden. It is full of character in its decor reflecting its name and the tropical coast nearby. It is extremely comfortable and very well serviced with 3 large double bedrooms , two bathrooms with showers, a lovely spacious sitting room and large kitchen with every thing one might need for a stay like ours of 3 weeks. It is clearly well maintained and impeccably clean with a regular cleaner who was a joy to meet. Steve, Gill and son Will all contributed to ensuring we were extremely well briefed before we travelled as to what we might expect and look forward to. For example helping us with flight and car hire. Their friend/ agent Dave - an instantly likeable Lancashire exile-met us on arrival and really went the extra mile with us ensuring we had something to eat as it was evening(he took us to the local supermarket!) spent time showing us round the Villa and then said he would return the next morning to give us a quick tour around the local area to get our bearings- including another trip to the main supermarket and waiting for us to do the shopping before taking us back! Amazing! Clearly nothing was too much for him. This is also true of Steve and Gill who kept touch with us through occasional e-mails just checking everything was fine - a really nice touch and we always felt that should any need arise they all would be on hand to sort things out. We can't recommend "Turtles" highly enough. It is excellent value enhanced by outstanding custmer service on the part of Steve, Gill, Will and Dave. Don and Sue Hale

Home comforts!
Home comforts!
Turtles was easy to find. The house and garden looked lovely and well cared for. We were met by Dave who welcomed us and showed us around. The position of the house was just as described. Steve and Gill had arranged a welcome pack for us, including requested items! The beds were really comfy. There were copious towels and a very impressive washing machine and dryer! The house was lovely and clean. We settled in immediately! The piece de resistance, though, was the veranda! We spent most of our time there! We loved the neighbours! Lovely gentle people with a ready smile and 'hello', 'take your umbrella', or 'remember your sun block'! The shortcut to the beach was as described and very convenient. We were on the beach within minutes! We enjoyed numerous happy hours, watching the sunset at Daphne's, and the Tamarind along with lunches and evening meals....In fact, we had a fabulous two weeks! Thank you Steve and Gill! We'll be back!
