About this villa rental
Set back in mountains, this exceptionally spacious and retreat-like villa overlooks the unspoiled Spanish village of Gualchos - a perfect holiday destination. The property features 5 spacious bedrooms - 3 with en-suite shower rooms and a large main family bathroom. Each bedroom offers its own stunning view of the mountains, sea or the mature gardens, pine and almond trees on acres of surrounding land - perfect for walking, reflecting, partying or just relaxing!
There is a large, fitted kitchen, with fridge/freezer, oven, 4 ring hob, microwave oven and dishwasher. The large dining area and living room have double aspect windows, letting in lashings of light and the surrounding views - the Pico Aguila (Eagles Peak) can be seen clearly from one of these windows!
The swimming pool has its own built in BBQ area, shower and bar for extra shade - an ideal setting for those warm evenings or days when you just fancy lazing around. This is a completely secluded villa, totally private and not overlooked from any angle so those sun worshipers can enjoy the freedom of completely evening their tan. The large terrace beside the pool is just one of the many spots to take in the panoramic view.
The villa itself has patios all round with ample space to sunbath, read, enjoy and watching the sun rise or sun set, with views of the Mediterranean Sea!
The villa is regularly deep cleaned and will be thoroughly disinfected between guest stays in accordance with the World Health Organisation Guidelines.

We had a vey pleasanr stay. The house has everything you need, is big and has a fantastic pool. It s not near touristic places but that makes the house very peacefully

First of all the welcome was perfect. Nicky met us at Castell de Ferro and guided us through the winding roads to the Villa. The house itself was huge and very well presented. With 5 spacious bedrooms and almost as many bathrooms. The children loved exploring every bit of it.
In terms of amenities, the house is very well equipped had everything our family needed. There was even an extra fridge freezer in the laundry room (in case we got too carried away with our shopping). Entertainment wise there was a smart TV with all the apps and good Wifi connectivity when we wanted to just sit down and chill for a bit.
The pool was fantastic, and we had hours of fun in the pool and around the pool area. Tony visited several times during our stay and ensured all the levels in the pool were perfect for the kids to keep splashing around.
The beaches and supermarkets were only a 15 minute drive away and very convenient to get to.
Thank you Joyce, Nicky, and Tony for making our getaway a perfect little escape. We will be back soon.

Big spacious villa, in a rural private location with a lovely big pool. The villa is well equipped with everything you need but could do with some updating
You definitely need a car (4x4 would be best)
The beach and supermarket is a 15 min drive
Tony the pool guy was lovely very knowledgeable about the area and couldnt do enough for us.

When we got to Castell de Ferro we met with Nicky and we followed her to the house. What a drive! We were not expecting all those curves going up and the steep dirt road to get to the house. (Good thing I only ran into another car once and he was the one that backed up) Nicky was very nice and she even gave us a watermelon. The house is big and comfortable to use and has amazing views and is very quiet since there are not many houses around. In the kitchen the fridge and the stovetop are brand new and there is an extra fridge in the laundry room. The pool was not ready due to the neighbors accidentally cutting the electricity supply. Tony worked night and day to bring the chemical levels of the pool up to swimmable and in a couple of days the issue was resolved and we used the pool all the time.
We had a great time going to different beaches or to the river but we really enjoyed the time we spent all together in the house, the pool, eating paella under the trees, getting water from the fountain,...
Thank you Joyce, Tony and Nicky for making great our stay in Gualchos.

INSTALACIONES MUY VIEJAS
LAS CAMAS FATALES IMPOSIBLE CONCILIAR EL SUEÑO, LA INSTALACION ELECTRICA SE IBA LA LUZ CUANDO QUERIA, LAS TUBERIAS DEL AGUA HACIAN MUCHO RUIDO. NO HABÍA CADENAS DE TELEVISION EN ESPAÑOL

Huge private space
Other reviews here mentioned the lack of air conditioners and other things. I can tell you after spending a week in this house that it is incredibly good value for money, other houses resemble five stars hotels and you pay for it and then can’t relax as you don’t want to break a thing. This house is a holiday home for the owners when they have time to visit , it is a home , not super new or super glamorous but a home with plenty of space and a lovely village down the hill. There could be some improvements, perhaps air conditioning units, perhaps a pool table, perhaps a runway for your private plane, you name it but then you would have to pay a much higher price.
Honestly, best value for money. Privacy guaranteed , comfortable and safe swimming pool, terraces with unparalleled views, looking at the house from down the village I remember thinking it resembled Mount Olympus, because that is what it is, a unpretentious comfortable and welcoming palace where you feel king of the hill, literally.
The way life is at the moment means I won’t be able to repeat the experience any time soon and that’s a dreadful shame.
Don’t think it twice, for this prices you won’t find anywhere better by a long shot.

tolle, einsame Lage

We spent a wonderful week at the villa in mid-August. Weather was warm, but it is cool inside the villa with a nice breeze most of the time. The villa is fantastic with 5 bedrooms and 4 1/2 bathrooms, plenty of room to relax and enjoy. It is in a very secluded area above the town of Gualchos. There are gorgeous views out to the Mediterranean sea from the villa. The beach at Castell de Ferro was great, the granddaughters loved swimming in the sea and snorkel around the rocks. The beaches in the area were not very crowded considering we were there during the a busy tourist season. Our granddaughters loved the villa pool and spent hours each day swimming.
Miguel, the local contact for the villa, was very responsive to any issues we had. I highly recommend the villa for a quiet and relaxing holiday.

Gualchos is lovely local village with great atmosphere and very friendly people. Also the nearest beaches are nice surrounded by good restaurants and bars, but a car is a must for this villa. We hope to get back soon!

If you want a no-hassle, comfortable and quiet Spanish holiday, this is the place for you. The (non-smoking) house is cool, clean, well-appointed and has fantastic views off the mountain (the metalled track up to the house is a first-gear job!) and over to the sea. And the night skies...!
You soon get used to traipsing down to the Mina for delicious spring water (the tap water is OK but not recommended, just in case), the butane-bottled cooking, and living with the inevitable Spanish cesspit-related no-paper-in-the-loo regime. Part of the Experience.
The pool is large and a sun-trap. And the daily sweep-and-skim regime keeps you fit!
The village - Gualchos - is typically Spanish: friendly but not intrusive. Ten minutes away is the coast - magnificient and relatively unspoilt at the moment. Catch it while you can!
A wonderful place to rest and enjoy the best southern Spain has to offer!
Peter

Spent a very long weekend in this lovely villa from the 29th April til 3rd May. The weather at this time was great, really sunny and not unbearably hot. The views from the property are very spectacular; being so high up means you can see for miles over the surrounding mountains, the village and the sea. The villa itself is great, very spacious, relaxing and well-maintained. The location is very idyllic and private, perfect for a relaxing break. I would advise that a car is needed. A 10 minute walk (but down an extremely steep mountain road) is the village of Gualchos where there is a small convienience shop and a bar. However, own transport is necessary to go any further afield. Overall, a fantastic place which I would recommmend to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday in the sun.
