About this house rental
Ten years of “excellent “, one of the longest continuous renting property by owner in Barnstable.
Stylish, understated elegant and comfortable beach home (not just a house) in the heart of quaint, historic Cotuit village, on the warm waters of Nantucket Sound. Spend this vacation WALKING to the local market, restaurant, Rope and Loop beaches, the marina, to a Ketteleers baseball game. Be part of this unique intellectual summer community that Cotuit is famous for.
The main house, built in 1901, was renovated with sensibility and was furnished with understated elegance by a professional interior designer. Understated, elegant, classic home with European flair set for family vacation is how many of our guests describe it. You will feel welcome right away, the house is not just well furnished with mixtures of antique and modern pieces but it’s kitchen is designed and equipped for the joy of cooking. Many of our guests reported: the only downside of this place is once you are there you do not want to leave, not even for an evening drink! One can enjoy not just the house, but the garden as well. It is lovingly care for by the homeowner who is enthusiastic gardener. It had the honor to be included among the finest gardeners in the Cotuit during last year annual garden tour.
Residential beach pass is included (15 beaches in 15 miles radius for free) plus 4 kayaks.
If you need additional private space you should consider renting our adjacent one-bedroom cottage as well (accommodates max. 4). The cottage, magazine charming, has it own driveway and small private garden, so it provides additional comfort (Home Away # 3805103). The house and the cottage feature completely chic modern farmhouse kitchens with open dining areas. Enjoy the morning paper or an evening sundowner from the deck or the screened sun porch while your kids are playing or reading. We offer vacationers ample opportunity to get that rest they richly deserve; you will find all the bedrooms beckoning you to sink between the sheets. Younger kids will enjoy the bunk beds or the sleep loft in the main house, and don't forget there is a crib for the smallest ones ,with a convenient changing table, in the master suite separate room. Your children will find a variety of board games, Duplo and LEGO sets, books and classic kid movies. The basement has an additional private room ideal for telework, printer included. It goes without saying that a large assortment of beach gear, sports items, beach toys, bicycles, and even four kayaks are included. Finally, let's not forget Cotuit's uncrowded beaches (that convey that 'private' feel), nor should we overlook the shopping and dining opportunities at Mashpee Common or Osterville.
P.s. Celebrate with me 10 years anniversary of “excellent” and managing the unthinkable: renting by myself while living most of the time in Europe and raising 5kids. Huge THANK YOU to all of my guests, neighbors, friends, local businesses and especially my children who made this possible!

Guests loved the well-equipped kitchen, spacious house, fun toys for kids, and charming atmosphere. The host, Miriam, was accommodating and responsive.

Pretty house, the owner was very nice, and communicative.. and helped accommodate an early arrival request.
A few things that are detractors:
As I explained to the owner, the fees are double the price of the cost per night. I find them excessive there is no reason for two fees on cleaning. I had no choice for the weekend and what I was doing - otherwise I would have reconsidered. Also, speaking of cleaning fees- There were dishes left in dishwasher, a used k cup in the coffee machine & coffee mugs were stained and looked not clean on cupboards, there was animal hair or human hair on sponges in sink & more uncomfortable for me- on the sheets and pillowcases of bedroom I slept in. So the house did not live up to my expectations in terms of cleanliness. The mattresses were not great-
I also wish that if VRBO owners do not want a specific demographic- like bachelorette parties - which is understandable, to rent their property … just say that in your listing. I don’t appreciate the coyness of dialogue- masked as an interest in me or my life as to why I am renting this house. I can do without that. Or if I am renting an entire house - why are you asking me how many beds should be made or towels will be needed? I paid for the entire house - including expensive linen fees.-you can buy new towels each time someone stays there for those fees. And I had 2 potential friends coming down - but things were up in the air and I didn’t appreciate the questions on that topic.

Beautiful home we always enjoy our time in Miriam’s Cotuit cottage. Cotuit is a breath of fresh air and tranquility in an ever changing world!

Second time we have stayed at Miriam’s house. It’s such a nice home. It’s neat and clean and homey. Very nice location close to beaches & town. Roomy kitchen & dining area and a comfortable screened in porch. We had 6 adults (4 adult children) and it was comfortable for all of us.

This is our 10+ year renting on the Cape but our first time at Miriam's property. Our family of four booked the house but not the nearby cottage. The house and garden/yard was well kept and the home large and comfortable. WE especially enjoyed the well stocked kitchen as we cooked many of our meals there. House has both heat and AC so would be good for any time of year stay.

Great house, great location!
We had a lovely stay at Miriam's house for our first family vacation with our two infants. The house was well cared for and situated. It also worked well for kids and has toys and a crib. When we had any questions or anything came up, Miriam got back to us quickly and was a lovely host! Would recommend to others!

Great family get away
We loved our stay here! The house is charming and fun for kids. We were travelling with our young children and they loved the fun toys, swing sets and kids room. The home is well equipped for families with young kids with bunk beds, a play loft, crib, high chair and booster seat. I enjoyed morning bike rides using a bike from the shed. And the location was convenient to the market, playground and local dock. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed the charm of Cape Cod. Miriam was helpful, quick to respond to questions and made us feel very welcome! I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Everything about this charming house was well though out, tasteful and convenient.
We loved having a place to stay near family and friends while attending a wedding on the Cape. The place was beautiful inside and out. Our stay could not have been better!

Fantastic Stay
The property was excellent and really just an amazing stay. The only issue we experienced was the A/C system was not working. The owner who lives outside the US was very much in contact with us and did let us know that she had window A/C units in the basement that we were able to use and it made a big difference. We are considering coming back next year to the same property as we had a really great time here and the town is really just very quiet and the local restaurant and market are just what you would expect from a New England town.

Beautiful home, wonderful location
They home is just as the photos and descriptions say. It is clean, beautifully decorated, best stocked kitchen in a rental I have ever seen. We found the beds a little firm for our liking but that is personal preference! We ended up buying a pad at Target and then all was good. Walking distance to the beach and the sweet country market. This is a great option for aa wonderful Cape experience!

A+ Home - the best stay in Cape Cod!
This home blew us away - it had everything we could have dreamed for and was stalked with anything you could imagine! You truly feel at home here and really get the quintessential Cape Cod experience! From the screened-in porch to the beautiful backyard and the large communal kitchen area, you have so many great places to spend time in and enjoy with your family. We loved all the unique personal touches Miriam had at her home and we’re grateful for the beach pass access. We also really enjoyed being able to walk to the dock and go kayaking or fishing right down the block! Highly recommend this home - we hope to be back soon!

Well-appointed pretty home
This is a very pretty home with a well-equipped kitchen for cooking and plenty of gathering areas. It is light, bright and very clean. I thought it might be a little small, and it is not a big house, but there was plenty of room for everyone (5 in our family and occasionally more with friends visiting for dinners). We were able to spread out in the dining room and screened porch. We also used the grill to cook and had some nice dinners outside at the picnic table. Upstairs, the bedrooms are a little small but it’s fine, considering you’re just upstairs for sleeping. I liked the location, the lovely yard was very private. The home is close enough to the beaches that you can walk or ride a bike to them. And you can bike to the Kettleers games. Very enjoyable stay and everyone is looking forward to coming back next year.

Great for a family getaway.
Beautiful house, stacked for all your needs. Great master suite. Plenty of room for gathering downstairs. Between tastefully decorated living room, fully equipped kitchen, large dining area, screened porch and outdoor patio there’s simply not enough time to enjoy it all. We’ve had a great time staying there for Memorial Day weekend. Very friendly and accommodating owner. Highly recommended rental property.

Lovely house for April Break
Our family of two adults and two children (11 and 5) enjoyed the April break in Cotuit. The home is cozy, had plenty of space for us and could easily accommodate a larger family. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking and serving meals, which was quite useful during the pandemic. Unfortunately, it was too cold to fully enjoy the screened in porch but I’m sure that’s lovely in the summer.
Somebody else was renting the backyard cottage during our stay but that didn’t bother us at all.
The house is in walking distance from the beach and in a short driving distance from the bike trails. It is also conveniently located for exploring Middle Cape or taking day trips to P-Town. The owner is very nice, responsive, and accommodating.
Overall, a very enjoyable house that I would highly recommend. Thank you!

Very nice property
The house is very charming, very nicely appointed. We will be coming back. The only downside was that the playhouse was not really interesting, as it is mainly a shed with a side structure for climbing.

Enjoyable vacation in Cotuit
Our family of three enjoyed our vacation in Cotuit. The cottage is ideally located in a charming area of the Cape. The cottage offers all amenities for families. We particularly enjoyed the large and well equipped kitchen. The owner is friendly and responsive. Our only regret was not to stay longer.

Nice quiet spot to explore the Cape!
We enjoyed our stay in Cotuit for a long weekend. The house was thoughtfully set up for guests and had a great kitchen and outdoor space and porch for food and relaxation. Overall, a very nice stay. Thank you!

Feels like home
A beautiful home and property. So easy to relax inside and out. Just pack your clothes and everything you’d ever need or want is there. Love the porch! Craig and Miriam are so welcoming and warm. This is our second time staying at their home and will come back again and again.

Cape Cod family holiday
I would highly recommend this well appointed home for a weeks holiday. The property is stocked with everything you’d need and is close to a number of beaches. The owners are both responsive and flexible, greatly enhancing the overall experience.

Lovely Cape cod house
We stayed here with our 4 children from 13 to 4 years old. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay. It's in a quiet neighborhood with a nice playground, library, and market with bakery treats just down the road. You have a beach pass which is great because a lot of beaches are not public. Loop beach is a very nice one just about 1 mile away. 3 bedrooms on 2nd floor with 2 bathrooms up. Small sleeping nook down for 1 smaller kid. One full bath down too. Awesome screened in porch for hanging out or coffee. Very nice and well appointed kitchen. Many board games books and toys for kids. Beach towels and toys available and plenty of them. Even bikes and a canoe available. Outdoor shower is very helpful.
You may have to share your yard with the cottage in the backyard if someone is there. There was not during our stay but it would be a minor thing.
Would highly recommend

Wonderful cape cod setting. Responsive/courteous owners who deliver on their promises. Good location for day trips all over the cape. Home is warm and friendly. No surprises which is key to a great vacation. Highly recommend and would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Wonderful house, great for families!
We had a lovely stay in this house in Cotuit.
Pros:
- Very clean & updated
- Very polite & responsive hosts
- Kid friendly (playset in back, crib & changing area with tons of baby supplies, toys, tub, etc.
- Walk to beaches
- Wonderful living space (sun porch is beautiful, living room is comfy, kitchen is spacious with enough room to cook & eat with 2 families / 9 people)
- Beautiful backyard with grill and dining table
- Outdoor shower for after beach
- Bunkbed & trundle in the kids room so all 4 could sleep there
- Well stocked- Lots of cooking supplies, bathroom supplies, beach stuff, towels, etc.
- beautiful neighbordhood with Park/playground down the street, and a good restaurant close enough to walk to (Kettle Ho)
Cons:
My sister said that her bed/mattress was uncomfortable (sinking in middle I think) & needed to be updated. She was not in the master or the kids room but the other one. Master bed was was fine for us- firm but comfortable enough.
All in all a good stay and we would recommend this place.

The property was very cared for with lovely landscaping.
I appreciated the attention to detail & the comfy interior design. Mariam & Craig were very responsive to all my requests. The only suggestion I have which would have improved my stay was the sleeping arrangements. The sleeping arrangements stated it slept nine. It truly only sleeps eight. One bunk bed has a limit of 132 pounds which can only accommodate a small child. I also would’ve liked to know whether the beds were Queens or Full size. The single beds are also really suited for younger children, not older teenagers. But overall, we had a lovely weekend & enjoyed ourselves very much.

Charming Cotuit Home
Definitely a home away from home. The house was beautifully decorated and stocked beyond my imagination. Personal clothing was all that was needed. My family and I loved it.

Extended Family Birthday Celebration
Great historic home, close to everything (modest) Cotuit has to offer.
Clean home; responsive owner. We had a great week end despite lousy weather.
One suggestion: update window shades

Beautiful quintessential New England rental
Craig and Miriam's place is just wonderful. It feels like we borrowed a friends house for the week. The owners have put so much love into their home. We enjoyed every minute and our daughter did too.

Great House/Grounds/Location
We stayed here in late August, 2016 for a week. Three adults and three children (8, 5, 3) and the house accommodated everyone well. The property and grounds are in great condition - lots of beautiful flowers - the owners really have done an excellent job updating and maintaining the property. The kitchen is modern, bright, nice and big and was perfect for cooking regular meals and serving a large group. The location is excellent. It's a 2 minute to drive to Loop Beach, a nice little beach in Cotuit. It's about 20-25 minutes to Kalmus beach in Hyannis or Woodneck beach in Falmouth - our other 2 favorite stomping grounds. Cotuit itself is a nice, quiet village in Cape Cod. There's not a ton to do there, but if you're looking for the quintessential seaside, Cape Cod experience, it's perfect, and you're only 10-20 minutes from plenty of good attractions in Mashpee/Hyannis/Falmouth. I'd recommend the property and will probably stay there again in the future. Also, the owners are nice, responsive, and very easy/pleasant to deal with.

Beautiful well maintained property
We have stayed at the Everhart's home for the past two summers in July and have enjoyed the property and location. The property has wonderful character with a very pleasant atmosphere and a panache of a French flavor. The screened in porch is a must in the evening for a glass of wine, a good book and playing games with the family. The gardens and backyard are very private and filled with colorful flowers and gardens. The backyard is spacious and private and complimented our annual family oyster feast. Location is an A+ as you are just a short walk from the Kettle Ho; local restaurant and watering hole and the village market "Cotuit Market"; (aka...The Coop) is less than a half mile pleasant The library and gardens are just 3/10th of a mile away as well. Just a great property and location for a family vacation.
