The apartment was large enough for a family, clean, and provided a great view. It felt like our own holiday apartment, better than a hotel.

No good if you are disabled
Just stayed a week at Astor House Warren Torquay. The first thing you have a problem with is deciding which is Astor House it is written on the front on the glass over the door but as you are going along looking and it is only one track because all the other side of the road has cars parked and people are wanting to get past you. Then upon opening the door you get an intense smell of old churches which is damp. Then the biggest surprise of all we are down stairs in the garden flat when ground floor was mentioned I thought ground the level on which I walk. I am partially sighted and 17 sheer stairs is no good to me, but I know they are fully booked and can't afford to loose £750 and book in somewhere else, the other guests kept telling me I should be grateful I am not in the top flat even more stairs. Arrived at flat 12 my husband managed in darkness cus the light outside the door had packed in to get us inside. It was spotless but just 1bedroom when my husband swore he had booked a 2 bedroom in the hallway between the lounge and the bathroom was an accident waiting to happen for me a step down I found it no problem at all managed without breaking anything although well shook up by this. Then we noticed a door from the bedroom on to balcony this would be lovely until you saw the size 6 ft by 6ft with a round table and 2 chairs the step down is quite deep and then another step on to the decking but the decking is the same as the step so my husband had to see me out . On the Sunday we went to B&Q and bought a rug so I could tell the difference. There is a set of concrete steps which lead off this balcony in case of fire the stair top is 3inches from the chair leg if you move backwards you WILL go down the steps probably to your death and if you are like me and can't see I was then banned from going out on my own. The bathroom could do with a shower door which remains closed when you are in it as the floor ends up looking like the Thames and a toilet tool holder would be preferable to twisting round and holding it. Outside the parking is a joke if you are lucky you can get a spot on the road we came back 2or 3 times and there was nowhere to park . But I do have to say the apartment is nicely furnished and the view is fantastic but never again for me and hubbie.

Highly recommended short break for a family of 5
Booked a last minute short break as we had to cancel holiday abroad.
First time here and have to say it has been a great experience for us all. Apartment was large enough to accommodate 2 wife and three very active kids. All the mod cons you can expect. Very clean throughout. Almost a luxurious hotel room except for the room service...definitely better than a hotel...almost felt like our own holiday apartment.
Apartment location was perfect as we could watch the kids at the beach from the room. Walking distance from great bars and restaurants.
Will definitely be back next year for a longer break.

A very good location, but not the appartment
The appartement no. 12 is very good located with an excellent view to the bay. The appartment was very dirty, we had to clean all the kitchen dishes before using it. The floor carpet ist very old and awful also the bathroom and other things. It is'nt looking as the fotos on website, so we didn't feel well. It is not in the condition to let.

A very clean apartment with a great team who were very friendly and helpful! Great views over the sea and literally three minutes stroll down to the seafront!

Astor House Torquay
A lovely view and a comfortable apartment. We enjoyed using the terrace. The housekeeper was around every day so we could ask her if we had any queries. It's a bit of a climb to the apartment if you're on foot, but ok as long as you're reasonably fit. There were lots of interesting places to visit in the area.
