The property offers outstanding views, spacious rooms, and various seating areas indoor and outdoor for relaxation. Guests enjoyed the amenities, friendly staff, and easy access to attractions. Overall, a charming place for families and groups.

Remotely situated in the foothills of Capannori, the six of us very much enjoyed time for rest & relaxation at Villa Lorena. We scheduled a number of day trips (some with and some without the expert assistance of the property's manager, Martina). We're very glad to have rented a car for the duration of our time there as there is nothing within walking distance of the property. We booked car service for some of our excursions/dinners, and found it extremely expensive, often costing more than dinner itself. We definitely recommend booking a chef (Francesca was fantastic!) as you will find this to be another way to enjoy the property. Martina, as the owners representative, was very responsive and helpful.

The place is outstanding. It provides you with everything you might expect for a relaxing holiday in the countryside of the Tuscany. We stayed there in October with a group of ten people, aged over three generations. There are different places inside and outside to sit all together talking or doing games. Whenever you're looking for a silent place to read a book, there are different spots to sit, relax and enjoy the view and the nature. The youngest enjoyed the little indoor pool as well as the in this time of year rather refreshing outside pool. The bedrooms are spacious, the beds comfortable and as you're out in the nowhere it is absolutely quit. The road leading to the house is a bit of an adventure but no problem to drive on. We recommend this villa to all those who want to enjoy the wonderful countryside of the Tuscany. All of us enjoyed it very much and would like to come back.

The villa was a great home base to enjoy Tuscany, with a relaxing vibe. Most of our day trips were less than an hour away.
Our villa manager, Martina, was very helpful and helped us reserve a wine tasting, arranged a private chef for an evening and provided insight for restaurants and sight seeing.
Our only issues were the american coffee maker didn't work, the lack of extra towels, and the clothes dryer wasn't installed.

We were with our children and grandchildren in the most beautiful villa in Toscane. Everything was better then we expected. The villa, the atmosphere, the swimming pool, the kindnesses from the manager and gardener. We can recommend this villa for families you Witney be disappointed

We just got back from our week vacation here at the villa. With a family of 11, there was room for all of us. We enjoyed all the different seating areas and especially enjoyed the pool on these hot July summer days. The AC worked great in all the bedrooms. The goats were fun for the grandchildren to see. We hired a chef to come one night to cook us a meal. We all went out to different places during the day and ended up together at night. Villa Lorena is a great place for a large family reunion.
The only thing I would recommend is some kind of written instructions at the property as to the separation of the recyclables.

Authentic tuscan country house. Hidden from the main road of the village. Led to
by a beautiful dirt road. The villa itself has everything you may need. If you
are looking for a modern stay, book at Hilton. If you are looking for an authentic experience, that's the place.

I can't begin to describe how wonderful our stay at Villa Lorena was. We just got home today and I have to sit down to quickly respond to review our stay. First of all, the Villa is so charming, comfortable, nestled in a lovely setting and filled with creative decorations. Our family of 9 was so happy there, we were sad to leave. Chiara (the manager) was incredible. She was always available to assist in any way we needed, making recommendations, helping us with things that came up. She was professional, kind and warm. Everyone felt like family to us. Graziano (the groundskeeper) also was such a wonderful person. I can go on and on but suffice it to say, you should stay here as soon as you can!
The location is perfect. We took excursions to Cinque Terre, Florence, Lucca and Siena with ease. We used services recommended by the management for transportation to and from the cities we visited as well as having chefs come to the home. (I highly recommend TauTouring for car services and Graziella for Chefs at the home).
I have such a warm feeling about our vacation at Villa Lorena. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would.

Best location ever
We spent the last days of 2021 in this house and we had a lovely time! The house is cozy and very practical for large groups, it’s decoration and interior makes you feel like you are going to stay in a family’s country house: lived and full of memories. The veranda where the dining table is located is where we spent most of our time together (we were 10 adults) and it is such a nice area: on a clear day you can see all the nature around you (little donkeys included!). The house is full of amenities, in particular the kitchen and its layout allows for both privacy and time together. As described, you will take a short off road street to reach it, but it is short and absolutely doable with a bit of attention (we had bigger cars but also a Smart car). Cristina and her daughter Elisa who manage the house and our main point of contact were absolutely kind and helpful. Before our arrival we communicated very easily on a series of points l: from cribs for kids for instance, we had two new borns with us, to making sure that the house was heated for our arrival. They have also supported with meals: Elisa prepared for us ready-to-heat meals, a very practical formula for big groups , but also a wonderful New Year’s Eve dinner which she cooked and served on the spot! Thank you!!

A Piece of Paradise
My family stayed at Villa Lorena and loved the villa and its property. It was the perfect setting for an Italian vacation with places to sit outside and inside. The rooms were spacious and decorated as an Italian villa should be. Bathrooms were very nice and every couple had their own. We had Cristina and her helper come and make dinner for us for my daughter in law's birthday and we were able to decide on the menu choices from dishes she offered. It was a very memorable meal!
The area is so close to so many places to explore and we had a great time finding them! As so many people have said in other reviews, the road up to the villa is challenging. It is very rough in places and is a bit daunting. We usually went out only once a day so we bumped our way down and up again.
We cooked some meals at the villa and had a great time working together because there was room to have us all involved. My family enjoyed the pool and the lighting in the pool at night was very nice.
We were so comfortable looking out at the beautiful hills with all the olive groves and vineyards. There was a fig tree with a couple of ripe figs to taste. Herbs were growing near the door to the sunroom and my son found some additional fruits growing nearby too. How can you not like a piece of paradise?

Completely satisfied
This place is even more beautiful than the photos. The grounds are impeccable, and per-fect for kids to safely run around on or just have a leisurely walk. The villa itself was exa-ctly the Tuscan experience we were looking for - tranquil, has it's own impeccable grounds, beautiful views and near distance to a lovely little village with great restaurants. The kitchen is awesome and fully equipped to cook yourself a Tuscan meal to eat al fre-sco. The caretakers are awesome and so helpful. The road to the villa was easy to mana-ge and we did not have any problem. My entire family loved the place, and dream of co-ming back bringing more people to enjoy it. Highly highly recommend this place.

Beautiful view & quiet
Lovely old villa with panoramic view in a quiet rural location. Wish the owner had mentioned (in the advertisement) that the villa was located on an unmaintained road, which is uphill. The rental cars took quite a beating from overgrown shrubs, loose stones, and ruts. It may not be the owners fault that the road is not maintained; however, the owner should make an honest statement about the road situation prior to payment. Renters should also be aware of undisclosed additional payments for air conditioning and gas for running the indoor pool (as well as olive oil). Lots of bees, be sure to bring the eppipen (viisited in August 2018). Outdoor grill is not maintained and there is no oven inside the house.
Aside from that the villa is as advertised!

Perfect!
Perfect - pretty much sums up our overall experience. First, Sonia and Cristina were easy to work with and they made sure someone was available for any questions that might arise. Cristina provided some good recommendations for local coffee and pastries as well as villages to go to and wineries to try. The Villa is located at the top of a dirt road surrounded by olive trees and grape vines. The Villa itself was comfortably large enough enough for our family of 12. There was plenty of space inside and out to find a quiet spot if you wanted. The house was very clean and comfortable. There were also numerous areas outside to sit or dine in groups. One evening we had Cristina cook for us and all 12 of us ate outside under a pergola. The food she made was amazing! I highly recommend her if you would like a meal at the house.
The location was great and allowed day trips to Lucca, Pisa, Florence and Cinque Terre. Don't miss the village of Monte Carlo which is only 20 minutes away.

Relaxing for large family group
We had a wonderful stay. We enjoyed a full week at work he villa with our mother and friend of the family. It was a total of 8 of us but there was more than enough room. Everyone had space the kids had a blast in the pool. The kids were from 5 to 12 years old so the size was just right for them. There was only 3 kids. The pool may have been to small for more kids.
The management company was great and very personal able. The addition cost for both gas and electric was nominal but we did not use the air conditioner as the weather was nice and it was not needed for us. Just open the windows and let the fresh country air come in.
We have rented several villas in Italy and this was a good experience.
The kitchen had all you need to cook. The coffee maker could have been a k-cup to make it easier to have a cup. But we managed. There is also a great bakery close by for the morning cappuccino and sweets. They also offer nice sandwiches for lunch.
Great location for parties and large groups. The house was well appointed with interesting nic-nacks collected over time.
There were two mules (or donkeys) not sure and a horse which was nice to look at while sitting in the sun.
Overall it was a great experience and We would stay again.

exceeded our expectations
We had the best family vacation in Tuscany over the Easter holidays!! Our love for Tuscany started at the Villa LORENA. The Villa LORENA was an amazing place to stay. It was just what we were looking for to experience the beauty of the country and the lifestyle of the culture. It is located in a quiet area of the Lucca Hills. The property exceeded our expectations. There were endless places inside and outside the home to gather for meals, relaxation and socializing. The home is sprawling, and even with twelve of us, there was still always a place to also experience private moments. The views from this property are spectacular from inside and outside of the home. We explored the beautiful Tuscan cities of Lucca, Florence, and Pisa and also took a day trip to Cinque Terre in the Liguria region. A big thank you to Cristina who met us the first day we arrived and later in the stay provided her services to us with a memorable cooking experience, followed by an amazing supper prepared for the whole family. The greeting and the goodbye were both welcoming, organized and attentive. This home is everything it says it is and more. Thank you so much for an amazing place to stay on a family vacation in Tuscany Cristina, Katrina, Sonia and family.

Fantastic Tuscan Villa
It's hard to describe what it feels like to arrive at the property, see the house and the view, hear the church bells chime every 30 minutes. Though we had plans to day trip all over the area, we could not resist spending the first day just relaxing, cooking and enjoying the wonderful atmosphere.
The property is very private, with views across a small valley to a village with the church. There are two very cozy outdoor dining areas, and multiple places to sit and just enjoy the sunset, with a glass of wine. Mornings are peaceful as well, with the sun lighting up the village while you drink coffee in the dining room or outside.
All rooms are very clean, and comfortable, with the master having its own outdoor deck facing the same view as the rest of the house. Two bedrooms have en suite baths, one with a full, very large, bathtub.
There are two large dining rooms on either side of the spacious kitchen, each seating 8, but the larger of the two outdoor spaces could accommodate everyone outside, too. The kitchen has everything you would need, except there is no oven. We did not miss it. There IS a brick oven outside in a small patio area, but I would not know how to use it well, anyway.
Unlike other properties listed, this is actually the entire house and all the grounds surrounding it, and is a fantastic value. It has been in Catarina's family for generations (the daughter of the owner we met), and there are family touches throughout the home, making it a very pleasant and intimate stay.
There is a working fireplace in the living room, and yes, an indoor heated pool that is wonderful for soaking after a long day walking Florence (45 minutes East), Lucca (15 minutes west - DO NOT MISS) and Pisa (45 minutes West). An hours train ride will get you to the Cinque Terre, which will be a highlight of any trip, and you can spend days wandering the rest of Tuscany which stretches southward from the area. Despite being so quiet and private, the A11 freeway is 10-15 minutes south, making this villa a great central place from which to explore all of northern Italy. (Rome is still only two hours away, by driving or taking the train, to Florence, then the high speed rail.)
Other notes: Grocery is ten minutes in Pescia, or Lucca. Road to house is unpaved, and may surprise you the first time. Keep going!! :) (You will be met and guided to the house the first time for check in) Say hi to the burros on the property - they love carrots.

What dreams are made of
I had the very good fortune to bring my family to Italy. We chose to stay in Villa Lorena. We had more than enough living space. The house was comfortable and inviting. We had an outdoor brick oven, a gorgeous sunroom with pool and a large kitchen to cook in. Several patios to sit out on and the pleasure of an occasional visit by the family horse and 2 donkey. The master bedroom and patio were absolutely amazing. The view is what we all see in pictures. I will go back again and again!

Gorgeous villa in breathtaking location
Our extended family group of 11 absolutely loved this villa. There were many places, indoor and outdoor, to sit and chat, soak up the sun, enjoy the shade, admire the view or just be quiet. All of the rooms are beautifully finished. The kitchen is large and well equipped. We had a cooking lesson one day which was fun for both the kids and the adults. The herb garden was used to provide most of the seasoning for the meal. Another evening, we used the wood-fired pizza oven to make our own pizzas. We spent one day just hanging around the villa, relaxing and catching our breath. Other days were spent out and about in the area - Lucca, Cararra, Pisa, the Cinque Terre. The view from the villa gardens is breathtaking - olive trees, grape vines, a beautiful valley and village on the far side. Good grocery stores were a short drive away. The small indoor pool was a good place to cool down and relax. The washing machine and outdoor clothes line were useful and appreciated.

Enchanting villa in Tuscan hills
We decided to stay here for a family vacation and we are so glad we did. The locale is charming and the view from the villa is awesome. The villa is very comfortable and well equipped. What really made our stay memorable was the warmth of the owners Sonia and Lorena, and the staff. They were always very attentive and helped us in so many ways. They arranged for a chef to come in and prepare several delicious meals for us. They provided information on local restaurants and sightseeing options. An added benefit was that we were able to cook out on the grill and make pizza in the wood fired oven. If we wanted figs or grapes to snack on, all we had to do was go a few feet off the back patio and pick them. We were sad to leave the villa but took with us wonderful memories. We will go back any time. What a wonderful vacation!

Lovely Tuscan retreat
Stayed in this Villa for 2 weeks. Villa is huge with great views from high on top on a hill surrounded by vineyards. Only 15 to 20 minutes drive to Lucca, 40 minutes to Pisa and 45 mins to Florence. Made arrangements for tours, cooking class with Villa owners which were great. Also BBQ night using Villa's own wood grill outside was a memory for lifetime. Indoor pool was great way to warm up after a long day of touring. Host provided maps, navigation and phones which made finding places to see/eat easy. If you are staying in Tuscany you can't find a better place.

I loved everything
At my return, my family and friends asked what I loved at Villa Lorena. My answer was everything! the personal touches and the beautiful decorations were exquisite! Everything we needed was there and we felt very comfortable! My children spent many hours playing chess, playing in the pool and my daughter was able to do her gymnastics conditioning in the gym. I loved watching Azzia and the donkeys. Your house was so beautiful I couldn't believe how lucky we were to use it. Thank you so much

it exceeded my high high expectations
Villa Lorena was absolutely beautiful and exceeded my high high expectations. Every room had so many personal touches and was presented fabulously, I can't believe how lucky we were to stay here!!!! There were many dining areas outside also (4 in total) including a pizza oven area and a BBQ. We were also lucky enough to have their horse and 2 donkeys staying in the next field. The location was perfect as it was central for Lucca, Pisa, Pescia and Monte Carlo and we also took the train to Florence which took 1 hour. We will definitely be returning - thank you so much for sharing your house with us!
