It is also conveniently close to Nice’s airport shuttle bus, tramway and SNCF train stations.

The apartment has just been completely renovated and refurbished by a Parisian, now Nice based, Interior Designer Severine Pilot. Care has been taken to preserve its beautiful traditional features such as marble mantle places and ornate cornices while transforming the apartment into a designer home away from home. Couldn’t have enjoyed our stay more at Carls Apartment. We stayed for 5 days of a 10 day France trip. Nathalie met us at the apt exactly at check in time and showed us around as well as answering our questions on things to do, travel options, etc. When you first walk in the hallway it definitely lives up to “old town nice” but once you make it up the stairs to the 3rd floor it changes. The Apt is very modern and well furnished. There are 3 bedrooms and each has its own climate control, which is very convenient. The washer and dryer are small but do the job. The apt was very clean and the beds were comfortable. There is 1 TV in the living room and had Netflix, Amazon Prime and found a few English news channels. Carl left a book with everything explained in detail (with pictures) on how to use the appliances, TV, and stove which made everything easy. Anytime we had any questions, Carl was quick to respond. The location is right in the middle of old town and everything is right there. The only negative was the train station is a good 15-20 minute walk unless you take the tram but it’s a safe walk and plenty of stores and scenery along the way. The beach is only a few blocks away and there is a huge daily market there that we went to every morning for fresh croissants and fruits. Less than an hour from Italy and Ventimiglia is definitely worth a day trip. We have done quite a few rentals and have to say this was one of our most enjoyable trips and Carl was a great host.

The apartment was beautiful. It was also in a great location and made it easy to get to restaurant and beach. Located in Old Nice, which was beautiful. The apartment had many amenities, that made our stay comfortable. Our only complaint was Apartment was located in the 3rd floor and made it a challenge with luggage since the stairs were the only option.

Lovely refurbished apartment in old town building. Very central, AC in every room, good showers. Steps from shops, restaurants, tram, beach. Things to note; it’s up 3 flights of stairs, and at a busy pedestrian intersection, but once windows closed at night there’s little background noise. Great communication.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Nice in the lovely apartment, which was well equipped and had very comfortable beds. The air conditioning was invaluable in the very hot weather. The location of the property was super, so close to the daily markets, the sea, the promenade, the tram, trains and buses,
The only thing we won’t miss is the 3 flights of stairs, but they will have done us good !

The apartment was wonderful. It was in a great location, nicely-decorated, well-equipped, and the bedrooms were very comfortable. The balcony was great for enjoying morning coffee and evening wine and just watching the world go by. Our arrival was quite delayed due to flight issues but Carl kept in constant contact, graciously met us at 1 am and took time to carefully explain the apartment and give us ideas for things to do and places to go. When we lost wifi mid-week, he cut short a bike trip to come and fix it for us. We are so glad to have found this gem in the old town!

Location is fantastic - close to all the favorite spots. Market, Mediterranean, restaurants and transportation. Felt like our own home, so cozy and comfortable the apartment has everything you need to make a memorable stay. Host is amazing!

The location was perfect. The apartment was clean and well appointed. I would definitely recommend this apartment for a stay in Old Nice. We enjoyed our time there and it was conveniently located near bus and metro. We used public transportation throughout our stay. The check in and check out process was very easy and accommodating.

First, communicating with the renter is easy and responsive. Check in was easy and renter is super nice. The apartment is fantastic. Super clean. Nicely updated. Everything worked fine incl air conditioners. And located in the old town where live hits you as soon as you walk out. Fantastique! Overall, I can only highly recommend this apartment and location. Great find! We would love to come back!
We stayed for almost a month, 3 adults, 2 kids. The setup was very comfortable, beds are comfortable, location is great, right in the middle of everything. Apartment has high speed internet (I worked remotely with big files and speed was not an issue at all, I think apartment has 6G network).
The hosts are amazing, super responsive, very helpful, gave us great suggestions on the things to do/see and places to go.
Everything is very comfortable and tastefully done. I definitely recommend and would love to come back. It was our home away from home. We didn’t want to leave.

Wonderful apartment in the heart of Old Town
We had a lovely stay at Carl's apartment in Nice. Prior to our arrival, Carl's communication was prompt and clear. He was able to recommend a great babysitter for our one-year-old that we used throughout the trip. He met us upon arrival and helped us carry our bags and settle in. The apartment itself was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. We had everything we needed for ourselves and our son for our two week stay. We especially appreciated the A/C during a heatwave that came with our arrival. The location is fantastic--close to all of the attractions of old town and a tram stop. We went out to dinner most nights at the great restaurants nearby (especially recommend Bar des Oiseaux, right around the corner). For our son, we appreciated being so close to a wonderful playground and splash park. There is some street noise at night, but the soundproofing on the windows is good. And you will get a workout with the 4 flights of stairs, but it felt worth it for us. We would definitely recommend this great apartment and host!

Perfect base for the old town
Excellently located for the old town, once you have got used to the building's common areas the apartment is magnificent. Thoughtfully designed and well provided, it is spacious, comfortable, and suitable for short or long stays; I would like to think that we will return. And thank you to Frances for your support.

Exquisite design and great location
A lovely property that has been designed thoughtfully . The beds are extremely comfortable and the linens are excellent quality . Bathrooms are exceptionally well
done and bigger than most bathrooms of any French rentals .
In suite washer and dryer was most convenient as we were on a long trip and travelling light .
Remarkably little scent used on the property which made for an extremely pleasant experience sleeping ( I have asthma and am very allergic to scent) .
A fantastic location ( the best , and we have visited Nice many times ) . Just steps to the market and the promenade , shopping and countless bars and restaurants .
Owners and guardianne were exceptionally polite , kind and quick to respond to all inquiries . This property is professionally decorated and extremely well managed .
Carl and Claire were so very kind to us and we would not hesitate to recommend this property . We look forward a return visit again in the future .

Superb location and accommodation in Old Nice
Most comfortable beds and linens, beautiful bathrooms, well appointed kitchen makes this a delightful place to spend your holiday. Make yourself at home in this fabulous location. Easy to arrive by tram from either train station or airport. Exceptional restaurants nearby and sea less than 5 minute walk. One evening during our 5 day stay there was noise from a local discotech but nothing our white noise maker couldn't handle. Carl and Frances who met us both very helpful and very quick responses to questions. They made our stay more delightful than if we ventured it alone. Great local tips.

The apartment also includes a normal sized washer with a completely separate DRYER (a rarity in old town ... not the crazy Parisian combo washer/dryer but a real honest separate dryer like you have in your own home). If you're driving and thinking of doing a lot of driving side trips, we parked at the Corvesy parking garage. It's just a few blocks further than the closer parking garage, but they had a weekly rate with unlimited in and out privileges. After you take your ticket and park, you can then purchase a weekly pass from the Corvesy parking garage office by the elevators.

Wonderful apartment in Nice Old Town
The apartment is extremely well furnished and interior designed with everything you would expect in a luxury apartment. It is situated in the old town with easy walking to all the local restaurants and beach. The balcony is lovely to sit on and watch the world go by beneath you. The air conditioning is excellent and was a must during the recent heat wave.

Wonderful apartment in Old Town Nice June 2019
Great place!!! Best VRBO/AirBnb experience to date!!! This is a fully remodeled apartment in the heart of Old Town Nice just steps away from restaurants, bakeries, pubs, beach, street markets, and public transportation. The apartment was fully equipped and furnished and met all our needs. Great A/C in all rooms with comfortable beds, kitchen has all necessities for cooking and eating in, washer/dryer, Smart TV with Netflix and a DVD movie collection. Carl was an exceptional host during our entire stay and assisted us with setting up an Old Town tour and a driver to the airport. Check in and check out process was extremely simple and convenient. We will be recommending this apartment to all of our friends and family and hope to come back and stay here longer. We were extremely busy sightseeing the different cities in the French Riviera, so we did not get to enjoy the apartment as much as we would have liked to. The apartment served as a home base as we traveled by train and boat to the different cities (Caanes, St. Tropez, St. Raphael, Monte Carlo etc.) As in most Old Towns in Europe, if you are travelling by car, the public parking lot is a couple of block away but we were able to easily transport our luggage from the parking lot to the apartment on foot. Grand Prix Weekend
We were a party of 6 staying in Nice for the Grand Prix weekend...
The apartment was just what we needed.. spotless, central and had everything required.. I only wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy it more.
I was worried about the noise - having stayed in the old town before... but once the windows were closed this was not a problem.
Everything was on our doorstep.. restaurants, shopping, bars, the tram etc etc ... the only downside was having to carry the luggage upstairs... but this is common in the old buildings.
Loved Loved Loved our stay and will definitely return.

Another fantastic stay
This is our 2nd time at this appartment and we enjoyed it as much as the first time. We were greeted by Carl who was extremely helpful and informative and the apartment had a nice welcome pack with an excellent bottle of Rose wine. The weather was mixed and often raining on an evening, so we dined close by and found some superb indoor restaurants away from the tourist track. Our favourites were L’Ecurie and Bar Des Oiseaux.
Overall, a fantastic apartment in a fantastic location - we will be back.

Nice apartment in a very convenient location
The location of the apartment in the old town is very convenient. Beware, there are about 50 steps to get to the apartment, so it is advisable to travel light. The apartment is nicely decorated, comfortable and fairly spacious. It is nicely equipped with all that is needed for a short stay. Check-in and check-out were very easy and Frances was very accommodating . She was very flexible when we needed to change our departure time and made arrangements for a taxi when we left.
Once slight inconvenient was that the internet connection is a bit slow and works best in the living room area. The stairway is under much needed repairs but does not seem to be getting anywhere fast.
Despite this, I highly recommend for others to stay and would consider renting again.

Perfectly situated in the best part of Nice
We enjoyed 10 magical days during Christmas and New Years in Nice, our first and hopefully not last time. We miss it already! This apartment is in a charming historic building steps away from a convenience store, wonderful boulangerie, cafes and shops, on a private pedestrian street in Old Town Nice. It was just as pictured and had plenty of dinnerware, cookware, wine glasses etc. Each room has separate temperature controls which was nice. The double pane windows also closed out any street noise instantly.
We enjoyed sitting on the tiny terrace with wine or coffee looking at the activity on the streets below. Just a note for anyone who has a lot of large luggage or trouble walking - being on a pedestrian street means that a taxi can drop you a block or 2 away and then you must walk to the front door. Being on the 3rd floor (US) there are also 48 steps to the door of the apartment. Very typical for Old Town residents!
We would recommend this apartment and would love to return to it. The check-in and check out processes were easy and smooth. Thank you for letting us experience Nice like locals.

Clean /chic flat, easy fun location in Old Town
Many thanks to Carl and Frances! Management was quick to respond to every question: we had some trouble on the first day with the safe and Frances was there when we asked her to be and resolved the issue cheerfully. Check in and out were a breeze, and Frances was full of helpful tips and ideas for the family. The building is very old (according to the owner Carl it will soon undergo much-needed repair work on the stairwell) but the whole apartment has been fully remodeled and tastefully designed with soothing neutrals, good lighting, and high quality linens. The living/ dining area is spacious and open to the kitchenette which is adequate for breakfast or simple meals. The beds are comfy, hot water worked great. Great old town shopping and restaurants just outside the door. Walking distance to many nice parks, the beach, super close to the tram. On the downside, we had to pay for parking which is hard to find at times. It rained so much during the week we stayed, but the renters provided a big umbrella, and we have a good excuse to plan for our next trip to Nice in sunnier months ahead! We would definitely stay at Moulin sur Mer again!

Absolutely fabulous!
This little gem is hidden away in the most fantastic part of Nice. It has all the "mod cons" and is very comfortably furnished. You can have all the scents and sights of Nice off the front facing balcony but retreat into a quiet cool oasis once the windows are shut. We are a family of four with two kids. The beach was on our daily rotation and it was unbelievably close. There were a litany of restaurants and pastry shops to choose from. (including a boulangerie that I visited daily to get croissants each morning) We walked and biked everywhere without any issues. This flat has all that we looking for. Comfort and location. We will be back.

This unit is beautifully furnished and decorated. Located in the popular Old Town area of Nice.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this property! Even though Nice was experiencing near record breaking heat while we were there, the fantastic air conditioning system kept us cool. The owners were so helpful in answering any questions I had prior to arrival. We were met in a timely manner for check in and given detailed information on operation of everything within the unit as well as restaurant and activity recommendations. We truly had a great experience using Nice as our home base for exploring the French Riviera; what made it extra special was starting and ending every day in this unit and the awareness that the owners truly cared that all went well. Thank you Carl and Claire, we look forward to returning some day soon!

The appartment was perfect!
Everything in the appartment was perfect! The decor is beautiful, it has all the equipment one can hope for (including umbrellas and bags to carry for example your groceries) and it is vert clean. We were 4 adults and 2 kids and we had plenty of room. The location is in the middle of everything. Kids loved the near by playground and park and the adults enjoyed the beach, restaurants and the atmosphere of the city. Even with the whole city having a party for winning the football championship the appartment was very quiet. Hopefully we will be back!

Great modern apartment in the heart of Nice Old Town
A Warm greeting awaited us to the apartment. We are a family of four with two grown up teenagers. We were given a full run through of appliances and where to go in Nice. Beautifull and well thougtout apartment with everything you need. Beach and bath towels provided, a great selection of DVD’s to play after a hot day walking the streets and amazing aircon. On arrival fresh flowers great you, giving a real homely feel. Each morning we visited the bakers for fresh bread and croissants, the locals were charming and friendly and appreciated us using our basic school French. The beach is so close and easy to reach, lots of pebbles so remember your beach shoes. We used the tram and took a great train ride to Cannes. Down in the Port we booked a full day boat trip to St Tropez. It’s a lovely base to watch the world go by, the small balcony creates enough outside space when needed to observe the sights and smells of a bustling town. Once the windows are closed it is incredibly peaceful. Thank you for a great stay, we will highly recommend to our friends.

Spacious, Luxurious, and Centrally Located!
This is a beautiful apartment. The furnishings are modern and clean and the space is bright and airy. The shops and restaurants as well as the beach are all within walking distance. Claire and Carl are wonderful hosts, they replied to our emails promptly and our check-in and check-out were handled most efficiently. If you're going to Nice, this is the place to stay!
