The pricing was relatively cheap for Dinant.
The overall cleanliness of the establishment was more than lacking. The smell was horrendous, the bathrooms were very dirty in every aspect, the bed linen was not entirely clean. The smell of cat feces was overwhelming in every corner of the house. Judging from previous reviews, the house hasn't been cleaned in a while.

Leaving?
This is not a serious and proper place. I would suggest not to stay here unless there are absolutely no other options
and you´re stranded in Dinant.
First off all the information about where to pick up (which is at another location)the key is wrong. No one met me there or answered my calls. As a matter of fact i still have received no calls back even though i called multiple times. A second number on the door of the pick up location was wrong and belongs to a man who keeps on getting called. This should be changed.
When i got no response at the pick up place ( i was there called and knocking for 30 minutes I headed to the real place/house. Eventually a man showed up from behind the house. He had no idea i was coming and there was no proper check in. I could choose which room i wanted but they were both distustingly dirty and the whole room felt moist and damp. It seemed as if the sheets had been changed but no other cleaning for weeks. The kitchen and living room reeked of cat pee and the cat/cats can enter all areas in the house since there is a cat flap in the front door. In my cupboard there were old sheets that also reeked of pee. Bath rooms quite dirty and distgusting as well. It felt unsafe and like being left in a horror house. I am glad that I was alone because if I had my family with me I feel like I would have had to leave.
If sleeping in the dorm there is no door, just a sheet, that separates the bunks from the rest of the place so the place is completely not for anyone with cat allergies.

Person who work there was friendly and borrowed me bicycle for free.
A bit far from city center (30 min walk) if you without a car. Old furniture and a bit overpriced for this standard.

The worst experience I have had with a hotel in my life. It is creepy, unsafe, with terrible “employees” if you can even call them that. It is dirty and a mess. There is no reception and when I got there I called the owner and no one replied. There is a door that has NO KEY so ANYONE can open it and get into the room and there is NOTHING you can do about it. I did not even stay and the police had to be called on one of the “guests” because he was drunk and violent. He tried to get into the room at 12:30 at night. We asked who he was before opening the door. He was drunk and violent and we asked for something that showed that he was indeed a guest. He had NOTHING that showed that he was staying there. We called the owner 15 times. He never replied. The drunk guy starting banging on the door saying that he would break the door and beat us up. We called the police. The police came and of course they were on our side, seeing that the guy was drunk and extremely violent. And the owners of the hotel did absolutely NOTHING about it. Not only that, Choco, the guy from the hotel came when the police arrived and he told us that they guy who actually threatened to beat us, was entitled to sleep there because he was paying for the room. Choco by the way, speaks ZERO English so he was insulting us in french for not letting the drunk violent guy into the room with us. We ended up going to a different hotel and I have not gotten my money back yet.

Nothing
There was several creepy middle aged guys there that stared at me in the worst way possible (female, 24), there were no women there at all, no one met me at check-in, the place was filthy and they basicly forgot my booking. I ended up not staying there at all. Also I did not get my money back

The building exterior looks nice.
The staff only speaks French and isn’t capable of adjusting to guests that speak little French or any other language. The staff is most of the time present in the common area watching TV, which makes it awkward to make use of the common area/kitchen. You can hear the TV from the common area in the private room (the dorm is behind a curtain next to the common area, you will hear the TV definitely louder there). It seems that the staff lives in the building but in a way that is far from professional.
Bathroom is dirty, bed linnen is dirty & kitchen smells bad.
Power outlets in the private room are not fixed properly, when plugging in my adapter sparks flew. They are fixed in the wall near/below the bed where quite some dust has gathered. Incomplete power outlets + dust feels unsafe.

I checked in by 3PM. The receptionist went away around 6 PM . There was no way we could identify the person who comes for check in post that . We were totally 5 people in the dorm . Suddenly there was a drunk person who started slamming the door and when we refused to open the door since he did not show his reservation, he sneaked up to the back entrance and even started slamming the windows . The owners number wasn’t reachable at all . It was a big mess in the end . I wouldn’t recommend this property .

Nothing
Definitely the worst place that i have ever booked, that is not a hostel, you share a room with cats and they pee in everywhere inside, there was nobody in the reception during the check in time, besides the person that works there speaks only one language(french) which made the communication really bad toilets very dirty, i would not stay there again even for free, booking.com really needs to do something to remove this place from the website, DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE , YOU WILL REGRET IT

The staff was really friendly and the house was historic in a nice place, although a bit out of town.
The bathrooms were dirty, although the beds were clean.

The location is in a calm place and people we met were nice. Communication with the host was very good.
We appreciated that we could accommodate at almost any time in the afternoon because we did not know when we arrive and also we could leave pretty late. To the train station in Dinant it is a beautiful walk. The nature around is really nice.
The place wasn´t very clean. You have to be a bit adventurous and also sociable to feel comfortable in the place.

You can find everything that you need for a short stay! This is one of the places with co-housing spirit which makes me love backpacking 😊
The bathroom could have been cleaner.
