The house and the location are amazing. Massimo, the host, was giving many very good tips for restaurants and trips to Luca and Firenze and was very caring during our stay. Many thanks!!!

My daughter and I spent a lovely week there. We loved it. If you want a week away from it all you couldn't do better. Most mornings were in the garden just reading in the sun. The small farmhouse is very peaceful with great views. The house is comfortable and everything worked (incl Wifi). It could do with a bit better seating area inside for the evenings, it's ok and you are normally outside. A small point. Lucca is close by and fascinating, worth taking a guided tour. Good (very organised) beaches 30 min away at Viareggio.

Everything was as expected or more.
Only thing i need to address is that the road up to the house VERY narrow and requires consentration while driving.
The view over lucca is spectacular and we spend every night watching the lights come on.
Remember to turn on the outdoor light an watch the geckoes catch flies.

The house was exactly as advertised, beautifully decorated, clean and with a spectacular view.
While the weather was not as good as hoped the location made more than up for it and we loved our little 'home' far from home.
Massimo was an exceptional host, very attentive and helpful.
Most probably we will return one day.
Molte grazie a te, Massimo.

From this location you can visit Lucca and the historic gardens. The house has a wonderful view and a wonderful atmosphere. It is in a
very quiet area where you can relax. The owner was always approachable and helpful.
We would book this house again at any time.

This little farmhouse is 100 years old and still had everything we needed for our stay. Comfortable beds, nice showers and plenty of hot water. It gave us a taste of a life lived long ago. Views were beautiful and the town of Lucca was 20 minutes away by car. Shopping there is great. The farmhouse is remote, quiet, and in the middle of olive trees. Wi-Fi was good, and the parking was a nice amenity. Massimo provided us with a lot of local information which was very helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

This is a beautiful Tuscan villa situated on the top of a secluded hill. The view was amazing and the house was very cozy. Massimo was so nice throughout our stay and told us of the many nearby attractions. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return again

Massimo's house is absolutely charming and comfortable. We felt like we were living in a fairy tale house. The view is beyond spectacular. We ate and shopped at some of the places he recommended and enjoyed them all. The drive up can be a little frightening at first but if I can handle it, anyone can. The view makes it all worth it! We also enjoyed the cats who visited us outside a few times (I named one Figaro). Massimo is very friendly and helpful. We hope to come back in a couple of years to explore Tuscany even more!

This lovely Tuscan farmhouse is a wonderful view ( yes the view from the hilltop is to die for)of a storybook lifestyle. Massimo is a wonderful host, always available for help, and has the house spotless and ready for visitors. He’s upgraded with 20th century amenities while keeping it in the style of the old stone farmhouses. Plenty of hot water, good Internet, BBQ & microwave and a wood fire stove for extra warmth.
Surrounded by olive groves, you are nestled in the hills amongst the other stone houses & villas of the Tuscan countryside. Lucca about 20 minutes away! Pisa is about a 1/2 hour by train, bus or car! I’d definitely stay again. For me, once in a life time trip due to special friendships. Thanks MT. Ciao!

We spent 2 weeks in this house, and it was great! The house is cozy and very lovingly decorated. It is clean and equipped with everything we needed (no stove, but we knew that). The two bedrooms with a queen size bed each offer enough space for 4 guests.
The drive up the hill takes some time and the windy road is somewhat narrow, but there is hardly any traffic, and I learnt to enjoy the drive.
The view from the house more than makes up for it, since you can see the valley, the city of Lucca, and the surrounding hills. The house is situated in a quiet and picturesque location. Just lovely!
The host is very friendly and helpful! Communication is very easy and pleasant.
We had a great time!

The house was just what we were looking for, an oasis of tranquility. It is as it appears in the photos. Beautiful views and perfectly equipped house.
Our dog was happy among the olive trees. Highlight how absolutely clean the house was.
We did many excursions, we spent time in Luca all within short distance of the house. With car everything is at hand.
Massimo very friendly and attentive.
We will be back for sure!

We had a very pleasant time in Massimo’s house. It is lovely decorated, the beds are good and the view above Lucca is stunning. Massimo is very friendly, attentive and gives lots of helpful recommendations. Whenever we had a question he responded quickly. The house even has a cat that comes along that everybody loved. We would like to come back.

Massimo, the landlord received us very friendly at the meeting point and then accompanied us to the house. The house is in a wonderful setting in the mountains above Lucca. It is very cozy and perfectly decorated. Everything is thought of and available. In the evening you have a wonderful view over the illuminated Lucca. The garden with fragrant lavender invites you to relax. We really enjoyed the stay. You can tell the owner's attention to detail. We were very happy to have met Massimo. We will definitely come back in the future

Piece of Paradise
Massimo's cottage is what we imagined true Tuscany to be. Nestled in the hills overlooking the town of Lucca, the village of Torre pockmarks the green landscape. The antique furnishings and style of the cottage makes you feel transported back in time to bygone era. So relaxing was time spent at this property, that we had a hard time getting up to explore the town of Lucca and further afield. Massimo himself (and wife Isabella whom we meet briefly) was the perfect host. Very knowledgeable about the surrounding area with plenty of advice and tips on where to park, dine and visit. No request was a problem for him (including guiding us back to base after getting lost). It was with a heavy heart that we left Casa Tonino and Massimo's company, but gladdened by the thought that we experienced this piece of paradise.

Lucca hillside villa
A fantastic experience - stayed here for a week - initially a bit scary because of the drive up the narrow road to get to the villa, but after doing it once all was ok - very little traffic - Massimo was an excellent host, met us in Lucca and we followed him out to the villa - very high up in the hills with magnificent views - we only had one small problem with the wifi but Massimo responded very quickly to sort it out
I would highly recommend this villa

The house is situated 15 Min outside Lucca. The terrace is very pleasant at any time of the day, you have a stunning view towards Lucca and it is very quiet there. The house is well-equipped and was wonderful for us four (would not recommend it for five). Massimo was always very friendly and although he could not be there when we arrived, the check-in was easy and check-out as well.

A little piece of paradise
We spent 3 weeks at Casa di Tonino in May, and although the weather was unusually chilly and wet for much of the time, we enjoyed every minute! The house is charming and cozy with a beautiful terrace and garden and incredible views. The wood-burning stove kept us toasty on those chilly days. Massimo was a wonderful host. He truly cares about his guests and was extremely helpful. We ate at two of his recommended restaurants - Le Meraviglia for dinner and Pane and Marmelatta for breakfast - and returned to both as the food was delicious and the staff very friendly. Lucca is a lovely town and was a great base for day trips to the Garfagnana, Cinque Terre, Porto Venere, Pisa, Florence, Volterra and San Gimignano. After a day out, we always enjoyed returning home to our little stone house in the hills, full of character but with every modern convenience. Thank you Massimo for sharing this little piece of paradise and for your warm hospitality!

Wonderful Tuscan farmhouse
This was our 3rd stay in Massimo's properties ( both previous time in Casa Ministro). We had a lovely week. Casa Tonino is typical old Tuscan farmhouse. It has been sensitively renovated, tastefully, thoughtfully decorated and outfitted with modern conveniences while retaining original features and authentic character. The house set on a mountainside with spectacular views.
The host Massimo is very helpful, careful and charming person. Thank Massimo for the welcome pack and the gift to the youngest member of our family.
If was it possible, we would give more than 5 stars.
Grazie mille.

Charming Farmhouse Overlooking Lucca
We recently returned from our second stay at the farmhouse in the foothills above Lucca. We so enjoyed our first visit, on the patio overlooking the city with morning coffee and after a busy day with a glass of wine was so wonderful and relaxing we decided this was the place for us again. We stayed a month and loved each day. Massimo is very helpful and friendly. He’ll make it his personal goal to be sure your stay will be the best it can be! Thank you Massimo!!

The hospitality provided by Massimo was excellent - from meeting us in Lucca to show us the way to the house, to the bottle of wine, bread and pasta as a welcome gift. This house is lovely, and with such an amazing view from the terrace, it was a struggle to tear ourselves away to explore. The house is beautifully decorated, and very well appointed - the good water pressure in the showers was a very pleasant surprise. The house is perfectly placed for exploring Lucca and the lovely villages around. It’s also close to the Garfagnana, which has some lovely walks. We would recommend this house to anyone looking for somewhere away from it all, but with access to the city, the hills and the sea.

One of our best vacations ever. Highly recommend this. The views are extraordinarily beautiful.
My wife, mother in law and I stayed in Massimo’s Tuscan farmhouse overlooking the beautiful midevil city of Lucca. Although we took day trips to places like Siena, Cinqueterra, Pisa, etc we could easily have spent our 15 days in Lucca and the surrounding area to get a wonderful Tuscan experience. The nearby village of Montecarlo and its vineyards are well worth visiting. We enjoyed the local Montecarlo Rosso even more than the Chiantis. Many days we just spent on the patio enjoying the sun and the vista while enjoying the local cheese, wine and bread. Cant wait to return. Massimo is the best. We will miss his friendship and his wonderful slice of heaven Tuscan farmhouse.

A little Gem: Serene and Peaceful with Stunning Views
Massimo's place is a little gem. We recently spent a week there in April. it is beautifully appointed with a cozy kitchen and pot belly stove (which we used due a couple of chilly nights, M provides the wood), comfortable beds and two showers with great water pressure (a surprise in such an old farmhouse.) There is a Simply grocery store down the hill and the nearby restaurant M recommended (The Marvelous) was great. Lucca is less than a half hour drive -- there is free parking just outside the walls. We biked the walls one day. Stunning. I found a great hiking path on the last night at the cottage and wished I had time to explore it further. I also drove to and walked around the local church that is visible from M's place. It is the peaceful quiet and the stunning views that makes this little gem so special. Yes, the drive up is a little harrowing at first, but go slow, use your horn and pull over for locals. Massimo met us just off the highway at a McDOnalds and we followed him up on the first day. We cooked and used the barbecue. This is a perfectly romantic spot for a couple.... We did have friends visit for three days and the house comfortably handled two couples, (I wouldn't go more than that as the kitchen is cozy... and little crowded with four, but definitely manageable.) We drove to Florence (next time we'd probably take the train) and Pisa. But for me this wonderful little cottage was the highlight. Thanks Massimo for being such a thoughtful host.

Charming! Peaceful! Excellent Property!
The house is exactly as it is pictured. Very charming and beautifully decorated. The only surprise was just how beautiful the view is of the valley below and the town of Lucca. Pictures just don't do it justice. In the two weeks I spent there, I learned a great deal of how everyday life is in Italy. The house was very clean and everything was in working order.
I would highly recommend this property to anyone wishing a lovely setting to relax the day away. Lucca proper is very beautiful town to visit. It is also accessible to many other towns for day trips.
Massimo, the owner, was very accommodating and always available should you have need. He is a good source of knowledge of how to get around not just Lucca, but Italy in general. He is also a very, very nice person.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
Arriving at this wonderful Tuscan Farmhouse was one of those moments! The view that met us did take our breath away.
Everything about this house, inside and out, was magical. The house is furnished eloquently..rustic/chic, and one feels instantly 'at home'.
Massimo met us at Lucca so we could follow him to the house, very much appreciated, and when there, he explained very fully regarding the running of the house etc. Massimo lives locally, and it was clear that if we had any problems, he would attend immediately.
I cannot really find adequate words to describe the beauty and uniqueness of the area surrounding the house, it has to be experienced, and I will remember and treasure this experience forever.

Casa Tonino has all the modern conveniences, scenic views and rustic Italian charm combined.
We spent the first 2weeks of October in Casa Tonino and every day was perfect. Massimo met us at McDonalds and escorted us up the hill to the house. The drive took a little getting used to but we quickly adjusted.
Everything in the house was just enough - nothing was lacking and not so much that you were always putting things away. Massimo explained how the heat and gas stove worked, trash collection etc. He answered all our questions and we were left to enjoy our stay.
We cooked our own meals (market is close by). We ate at local restaurants (The Marvelous is Marvelous!) We took a cooking class nearby that Massimo researched and suggested at my request. It was so fun!
We met the locals living next door and everyone was friendly and gracious.
We would recommend this place without hesitation.
Not only is the location and the house itself ideal but with Massimo taking care of you there is nothing to do but relax and enjoy every moment.
It was a perfect vacation, we will be back.
Thank you Massimo!

Original rustic house with lovely views to Lucca
From being met by our charming and very caring host, Massimo, who guided us to his lovely rustic property in the hills above Lucca, to his helpfulness throughout even to printing off our boarding passes, we had the most fabulous holiday. The property is well situated, with importantly for self catering a very good supermarket only 10 minutes away, so close to beautiful Lucca itself, and from there an hours bus ride to the beauties of Florence. Massimo recommends a typical restaurant, Le Meraviglie approximately 20 minutes drive. A great recommendation. We don't speak Italian and got slightly confused over the starter translated as 'House Fantasy'! Beware, the various plates just kept coming. Fantastic! We have very happily given the property 5 stars, but with a minor caution. We dished up lots of lovely meals, despite the restriction of a small 2 gas burner hob - but all as property description. Finally, a huge thanks to Massimo, for his superb hosting skills.

A lovely location, very relaxing and quiet
The owner was very helpful and met us in Lucca so we could follow him to the property. If you want peace and quiet with fantastic views of Lucca, both at night and during the day this location will not disappoint you. The garden was a beautiful setting for a glass of wine and BBQ. Just what you want to come back to after visiting Florence, walking the Lucca Wall or just travelling around this breathtaking country. Thank you Massimo for making us feel so welcome.

Authentic Italian home in Lucca
We wanted an authentic place to call home while staying in Tuscany and this charming little stone house was perfect for that.
We arrived late from Rome and Massimo was kind enough to meet us at McDonald's just off the freeway in Lucca at midnight so we could follow him to the house. We really appreciate him meeting us so late! He showed us around the house and explained things we would need to know for our stay there.
The very first morning we were greeted with a view that cannot be described, it has to be experienced. To open the shutters and look over Tuscany was peaceful, serene, gorgeous. We knew we would have a view but weren't prepared for the beauty!
The home itself was fine for six of us. Massimo was very honest and upfront about the size of the home, but it worked fine for our stay in Lucca. The two upstairs bedrooms had a full/double bed while the little couch on the main floor pulled out and slept two. All mattresses were comfortable.
The drive was a little hairy at first! We didn't expect a 15+ min or so winding up the hills of Lucca so if you are afraid of heights, just a warning! Thankfully we were following Massimo on our first trek up, in the dark, otherwise it would have been a bit scary at first. Once we did it in the daylight, and over the course of a few days, it was fine. We also had a van to seat the six of us so if you have a smaller car it probably wouldn't seem as scary. The road to the house was paved nicely and in great shape.
Massimo's hospitality was appreciated, from the welcome gift of wine and pasta, to meeting us late, to once again meeting us in at the local hospital when our young daughter had a bad fall.
If a charming, authentic Tuscan villa is what you are looking for, with unimaginable views then this is the place for you!

Beautiful villa
When we arrived (4 adults) Massimo met us in Lucca so we could follow him up and and up to the villa. The rustic villa surrounded by olive trees was exactly what you see on the web site and much more. The view overlooking the beautiful city of Lucca was breathtaking. The villa is well maintain, very clean and is equipped with all the modern amenities. The beds are extremely comfortable.
The owner, Massimo was always quick at answering any questions and in helping with any problems for example, we had a problem with the rental vehicle and needed a towing and garage, Massimo arranged everything and made it so easy for us...thank you Massimo.
I would not heisted I. Recommending this villa to my friends and family an hope that we will be able to go back to this cosy Tuscane Villa ....ciao Massimo and again thank you.....❤️

Dreamy Tuscan Villa will not disappoint
The villa was everything it promised to be and much more! We fell in love with the photos online and were breathless when we walked into the house for the first time. When we arrived, Massimo met us in Lucca so we could follow him up the winding roads to the villa. Once there, he told us everything we needed to know about the house and left us with a beautiful gift of wine, bread and pasta which we thoroughly enjoyed. We enjoyed our evenings on the patio marveling at the beauty of the property, the view overlooking Lucca and also the warmth of a fire in the wood burning stove. The location is a very private and enchanting as it’s nestled in an olive grove on the side of the mountain. This meticulously-maintained house and garden has all of the old-world charm we were looking for but with very modern amenities. The villa has newer appliances including a refrigerator/freezer, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher. The gas heat warmed up the villa in just a few minutes and we never ran out of hot water. The kitchen is well-stocked with everything you might need to make a nice meal. Both bedrooms have the stunning view of Lucca and both beds are big and extremely comfortable. During our stay we visited Cinque Terre, Pisa as well as two days in beautiful, nearby Lucca where we rented bikes, shopped and had fabulous meals. We never felt unsafe but took comfort in the fact that the house closed up nicely with shutters and locks while we were out. Massimo is an extremely considerate host and wanted to be sure we felt comfortable and at home and was always extremely quick to answer any messages I sent to him throughout the rental process. He was also punctual on our arrival and departure days. Our experience was like a dream-come-true from beginning to end. We have recommended this villa to friends will be renting again ourselves!

A little bit of heaven.
We spent six days in this incredibly charming stone house. It's high up in the hills amid olive groves looking down on the walls of Lucca. Massimo and his wife were truly gracious making sure we had everything we needed. While we were there Massimo invited us to watch his olives being crushed and made into olive oil - a day later some was delivered to us. It was delicious! The views from this little house are breathtaking and captivated us especially in the early morning and late at night. We can't wait to return again for another memorable stay.
