About this bed and breakfast
Welcome to Chez Yahia
Our guesthouse is nestled among greenery on a hillside with a breathtaking view of the beautiful Ourika valley, in the heart of the High Atlas.
Our little piece of paradise is a perfect getaway for nature lovers, hiking enthusiasts, bird-watchers, skiers, and the travelers who wish to experience authentic Morocco only 48 km from Marrakech or just relax and enjoy the view and the light.
As a child I lived in Marrakech and spent all my vacations in the village. As an adult my love for the place and the people became stronger and I decided to make it my home. I chose to design and build the house, so it would blend in the picturesque landscape and respect the natural environment. I made sure the house would be bathed in the magical light and colors of the valley. Thanks to the friendly inhabitants of Taljerf and with the help of my donkey Williams, my dream came true.
Today, my wife Juliette and I invite you to share our humble oasis of peace.
Chez Yahia is ideally located, closed to all the famous sites of the area, from the waterfalls of Setti-Fatma to Oukaimeden ski resort but far from the hustle and bustle of the more touristy areas. It is also the starting point of many walks, for those who prefer exhilarating backcountry hikes to tourist paths.
Our local stone house is simple, vast and quiet. We offer three bedrooms on the first floor and two apartments on the second floor. Each apartment has a bedroom and a small living area. There are plenty of places to relax in the house, south-facing balconies on the first floor, a large terrace on the second floor, and a large roof terrace equipped with a Berber tent. There is a well-equipped kitchen downstairs, a summer kitchen upstairs and two fireplaces for the winter evenings. The decoration is simple and rustic without neglecting comfort.
You will have access to the kitchens if you wish to prepare your own meals.
We offer breakfast as well as lunch or dinner. Local Moroccan traditional cuisine or other cuisine if you wish, all prepared by my wife, Juliette, a trained chef who brought back from her many travels the taste of authentic food.
It is best to let us know in advance if you wish to have us prepare your meals as we only cook with fresh produce.
You can rent rooms, an apartment or the whole house as well.
We will do everything to make your stay in our home a memorable one and welcome you with the warmth typical of the region.
Fall asleep underneath the stars and wake up with the singing birds!
We speak French, English and Arabic.
Welcome!
