About this cottage rental
Come to call the beach home for a while! This charming south west San Clemente historic beach cottage was built by the town's founding father in 1931 in the Mediterranean Revival style, lovingly restored, and is located in the heart of the Village by the Sea. It has 2 bedrooms and sleeps 6 with an additional nursery off the master. Hardwood floors & french doors are found throughout. The master bedroom features a wooden sleigh bed and ample storage. The second bedroom features a custom built double over double tree house bunk, plenty of storage and a selection of books (natural/wooden toys available upon request for young ones). The bath has a slate stone surround & a spa water feature to make your holiday even more relaxing. The kitchen and pantry are stocked for your convenience and houses the original vintage gas stove. A welcoming array of delectable treats will greet you upon arrival. A secluded private front yard with a mature coastal pine shade tree features a stone water fountain, privacy hedge, outdoor chandelier lighting and a wood & wicker furnished portico. Beach sundries are also available (towels, umbrella, boogie boards or sand toys) upon request. From the cottage one may walk EVERYWHERE, including the beach, pier, T-street surfing, grocers, coffeehouses, art galleries, wine bars and the village's many downtown dining & shopping venues. Conveniently located west of Pacific Coast Highway, the cottage affords easy access for day trips north or south along the California coastline.
There is something for everyone here! This is a charming historic home located within walking distance to beach, shops and restaurants. There is a trolley to take you to the pier and other areas in San Clemente, this is a life saver if you are elderly like me. The front yard has a wonderful shade tree to keep it cool on warm evenings. The hosts, Paige and her husband, are so welcoming and kind. Thank you Paige for a lovely stay.

Our stay at this destination was extremely comfortable, relaxing and pleasant. The house itself was very organized, clean and well appointed. Moreover, the location was excellent. We were about three blocks from the beach which had a walking path, pier with good restaurants, and surfing. We were also about three blocks from the cute main street with a large number of really good restaurants and unique shopping boutiques. In addditions a short drive took us to many other sightseeing destinations, such as Newport or Laguna beaches, and the mission at San Jan Capistrano.

We absolutely LOVED our time spent at the cottage! Our host went out of her way to make our stay inviting and memorable. The cottage is in the perfect location, allowing us to walk downtown and to the beach and leave the rental car behind most days which was appreciated. It was truly special to stay in an original historic cottage to the area (versus a generic condo) with all the modern updates. Inside was spotless, super clean and highly organized with everything we needed at our disposal. We can not think of one thing that was missing! Thank you for the warm hospitality. We will be back!
