This home has a unique history of early Americana. The property was originally built in 1860 as a button factory. Early American fashions of the late 1700's to mid-1800's required many buttons on both male and female garments. Buttons were even essential to underwear, shoes, corsets and women's basque waist. Buttons of the time period were made of ivory, bone, shell, wood, stone, glass, whale bone or animal horn. This property was originally built as a factory, producing and selling buttons to clothiers of the Guilford and CT shoreline area. The colonial character of this property has been preserved, yet it features the modern conveniences you expect in a vacation home.
The price is right for this house! We ensure the property is clean, crisp, welcoming and affordable for guests.

This property was perfectly situated As we had a wedding in Branford and did not want to pay for three hotel rooms! It is well located, only a few minutes walk to the town center in Guilford. There was plenty of room for 5 adults, wifi certainly appreciated. We spent some lovely mornings and evenings on the enjoyed our visit very much.

'We had a wonderful time at this lovely home in Guilford. We found the home to be cozy, comfortable and beautifully decorated. We will definitely stay here again in the future. We loved being able to walk to town to the Green, shoppes, restaurants, etc. I would definitely recommend this home to my friends and family. And the woman we worked with was also so sweet and helpful.'

House was perfect for family get together. Enjoyed walking into town for afternoon shopping and dining.

The property is very quaint and on a deadend street close to town. Definitely within walking distance. Center of town has shops and restaurants. During our stay there was an art festival so that was nice. The home had room air conditioning on the main and upstairs which kept us cool on all levels. The deck has several sitting areas that we used. The kitchen was well stocked. The bath on the main had ample towels and plenty of hot water in shower. The upstairs had a tub shower but all used the shower on the main. The beds were very comfortable. There was an issue getting into the property because the instructions were outdated in terms of code to get in and landlord’s phone number, but her new number was listed elsewhere and we were able to reach her and get in after a short while. She was quick to respond to contact and pleasant.

The house was just right for our weekend in the area to attend my son's college graduation. The short walk to wonderful restaurants and the town green in Guilford was a big plus.

1) sweet place with good kitchen tho we barely used
2) not for elderly or disabled
3) no hot water after 1 shower
4) some lights didn’t work
5) nice yard and porch
6) bathrooms down stairs not next to bedrooms - be prepared for the late night walk

We had a wonderful week at the Button House. The house had everything we needed and the location was extremely convenient to the beach and stores. Having multiple beach passes was a godsend since we had both early and late risers in our group. The house was immaculate. Just one suggestion. The only silverware was a set of six table settings - it would be wonderful to have more. There were six of us, so we had to wash silverware after every meal, even if the dishwasher was nearly empty.

Yvette's house in Guilford was perfect for our girlfriend's get-away weekend. The house had enough space for all of us, the location was excellent, and the beach passes to a sweet town beach were well-used and much appreciated. The house was comfortable and well-appointed. Thanks!

This renovated cottage started out as a button factory many years ago. Today it is a charming 4- bedroom, 2 bath house perfect for a wonderful vacation in historic Guilford. The owner was immediately responsive to all our needs. I would recommend this property to anyone.

The house is comfortable and beautifully clean. There were five adults and one infant in our group, and all were happy with the arrangements. Yvette was very gracious to allow us to check in early when we arrived sooner than expected. She even went over and cranked up the air conditioners, a blessing on that 90+ degree day.

Our stay at Yvette’s home was great. The space was just as pictured and very comfortable. We enjoyed the back deck in the evening with a very pretty view behind the house. The location of the home was close to town so we enjoyed biking and walking to the green. Would stay there again.

The home is exactly as shown on the pictures - 4 bedroom, 2 baths beautifully maintained old New England home with AC in all rooms except bathrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped, you can cook a full meal for a full family without a problem. Front porch facing the street is small but one doesn't need it because the deck off the back of the house is very spacious. Outdoor furniture is a bit worn but fully functional and plentiful including umbrellas. The position of the house and the large tree of the deck provide shady spots on the deck for all but an hour or so in the middle of the day which was great. There also was always a nice breeze which kept bugs away. There are 4 bikes + helmets and beach chairs - we didn't use them but it was a nice touch.Town center really is in walking distance (7-10 min). Beaches are only a few minutes by car. We only took a quick look though, were happy to stay in the backyard. Nice & quiet location, beautiful home. We had a lovely time. Thank you Yvette

We enjoyed our fall stay. The 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms worked out well for our group. Yvette checked in with us upon arrival and was very responsive during our stay with any questions we had. The house dates to the 1800's & we appreciated it's character (eg lovely wide floor boards) The stairway to the second floor has a good angle to it so we just had the grandparents use a bedroom on the first floor which worked out well and is their preference anyway. Convenient location very close to the downtown square area - also a quick drive to the local Big Y food store. Thanks so much for sharing your home with us!
