About this cottage rental
Come and spend a week enjoying cottage life on Lake Muskoka just a 5 minute drive from downtown Gravenhurst. This custom designed home has extensive use of glass throughout providing panoramic views of Lake Muskoka. This unique home has 4 levels to it with lots of room for all family members. Meals can be prepared in a gourmet kitchen with granite countertops, side by side fridge with ice and water dispenser also has a microwave, GE stove, compactor, dishwasher, and extra pots, pans and 2 sets of cutlery. Next to the kitchen is a large 6 person dining table with adjoining double French doors leading to the muskoka room with additional seating for 10, so families can dine together. A wood fireplace is located on this floor beside the dining table for those cool nights in June or September.
The home has 4 bedrooms. Three rooms have queen beds, while the 4th room is primarily for kids as it has 2 bunk beds with single on top, double on top. The top bunk is not suitable for adults or large kids. There is also a pull out couch in the kids video games play room.
There are 4 outside decks as well as a large boathouse top area where you can relax on a muskoka chair or tan on one of the lounge chairs. The sun comes from across the bay, providing full sun until around 430pm, when it goes behind tall 80+ year old Oak and Maple trees which provide shade on the front half of the boathouse, while the area closer to the water is still sunny. There is also a large red umbrella for those shade lovers.
The first deck is a private area off the master main floor bedroom. The main upper deck has plenty of room, with a table and umbrella at the front, and a couch and gas firepit next to it, and the bbq around the corner. The lower deck has a hot tub which is directly under the muskoka room, with a circular picnic table beside it. The last deck is smaller and located off bedroom 2 facing the waterfront.
The second level is where the family room, electric fireplace and tv are located with a beautiful view of the lake, and kids video playroom around the corner.
The third level bunkbed room has its own bathroom and shower adjoining to it, while a second bathroom with sink, shower and tub is located between the second and third bedrooms. This level also a separate fridge/freezer for your extra groceries.
**Additional Features**
Muskoka Bay is connected to the main Lake Muskoka through a narrow passage, so the water is less choppy and great for tubing and waterskiing in the Bay.
Because the drinking water is city water, you can avoid having to bring bottled jugs of water or worry about drinking water or showering with Lake water, although we do have a water dispenser for large jug drinking water.
Internet is included and unlimited, and cell phone reception is very good.
The wharf and public boat access is just around the corner where the Seguin boat tours and Boston Pizza are located.
All amenities such as grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, banks, liquor store, beer store are all a 5 minute drive away.
There are 2 separate water heaters which helps when there are 12 people all showering in the morning.
Inside the boathouse are a canoe, kayak, windsurfer, kids unsinkable board, multiple sizes of lifejackets, noodles waterskis, ropes, and a single inflatable raft you can use from your boat. On top of the boathouse is a very large area with lounge chairs and muskoka chairs to spend the day tanning or socializing . Shoreline is sandy with a ladder at the far end of the wraparound dock where the water is approximately 10 feet deep at the far end of the boathouse, it is not a beach. Boatlift and seadoo lift are unavailable for use. Additionally, the jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom has been disconnected. There is a tub on the lower level.
Please use coasters for drinks placed on marble counter tops of furniture to avoid staining marble..
If you bring your own boat or seadoo, or rent one, please respect the shoreline by avoiding making waves near the boathouse. There is a seadoo and boat rental also located in the wharf, however Northland Rec does rental deliveries to the bay at better prices. You should book your watercraft rentals as soon as you commit to renting a week, as the last couple of years, none were available if you waited til a week or two before your rental week.
Jumping off boathouse, if done, is at your own risk. Water is deep enough for jumping, but it is your responsibility, to check the bottom of the lake is clear, and be aware the decks wrap around to the front of the boathouse.
Use of towels is allowed without paying a linen fee, but only if you wash under hot water, fold and put them back in closets yourself. Leaving them in dryer is not allowed, or there will be a full linens fee assessed, in addition to laundromat fees resulting.
All garbage must be removed from garbage baskets/cans in house, decks, boathouse. We have a garbage bin at the far side of the garage for your garbage. All recycles must be placed beside this garbage bin in blue bags on departure.
All rental weeks have a max of 6 garbage bags to be picked up by the town per week, however, you have 3 bags mid week town pick up, and 3 bags placed in the garbage bin on departure, as the town has a max pickup of 6 bags. Do not miss your mid week pick up of 3 bags.
The rental contract with owner must be signed and received by the owner no later than 3 weeks before the cancellation deadline. There is a $500 damage deposit that is not collected by VRBO.

We had a great time with our family. We were 6 adults and 4 kids (6,4,3,1). The properly was perfect for everyone and had plenty of activities for everyone.
The kitchen was packed with cutlery, dishes, pots & pans, cooking utensils, and serving dishes. The beds were comfortable and the bunk beds were perfect for the kids.
The dock and boat house roof were great for being near the water and enjoying the weather. The steps into the lake worked perfectly and there is lots of space to swim and enjoy the lake.
We’ll definitely be coming back.

Tom & Marina were wonderful and easy going hosts. They gave us a detailed list of information about the cottage before we arrived, which was greatly appreciated. They were quick to response to any inquiries we had. They had a complimentary care package for us, which was a nice added touch when we arrived.
The cottage is beautiful!! There are various levels to this cottage, which gives everyone privacy if you want. There is a sunken living room with a BIG screen tv on both floors. Every room is a good size. The modern kitchen is well equipped with lots of dishes, pots & pans, etc. There is an additional full size frig in the lower level (which came in handy) and a bar size frig by the hot tub. There are plenty of things you can do at this cottage: play numerous Xbox games in the game room, watch numerous DVD's, read books, use the hot tub, sit outside on the boathouse roof and relax and enjoy the scenery, go swimming in the lake, etc. There is no doubt, they have a LOT to offer the renters.
The cottage is very close to town. There is a FREE boat launch at the Wharf along with FREE boat trailer parking beside the Greavette Condos. My family and I have a very special, fun-filled and memorable time here.
