The neighborhood
Located on Bayou Bonfouca in the center of town. Scenic waterways abound and there is quite a bit of wildlife even in this location. Laze the days away fishing from the dock, plenty of peace and relaxation if you want it. If not there's plenty to do--there is always something going on in Olde Towne from Mardi Grad parades passing right on Front St to food and arts festivals all year long. Conveniently centered in the Historic Olde Towne District of Slidell, only steps from a thriving community. Walking distance to Heritage Park, famous Palmettos Restaurant, Amtrak Station, Times Bar & Grill, Slidell Museum, antiques stores and restaurants. Visit the Arts District and upscale blues club, nearby Dew Drop Inn. Easy 30 minute drive to New Orleans without the hustle and bustle. Take the train over beautiful Lake Ponchartrain and scenic marshes to the Big Easy for an overnight visit. Plenty to do and see unless of course you just want to relax and you can do plenty of relaxing in the bungalow on a lazy morning, afternoon or evening.
Getting around
The Amtrak station is only a couple of blocks away. Other than that there is no public transportation, however, there are canoes and kayaks available for sightseeing on the historic, scenic bayou. There is also a major biking/walking/jogging trail called the St. Tammany Trace which extends along the entire Northshore of Lake Ponchartrain and Camp Salmen Nature Park, with nature walk, park, and playground.

We enjoyed our stay. The Bayou is right outside the back door. It was nice and quiet. Owner was great about communication. If I am ever staying in Slidell again I would stay here again.

Nice, clean place. The train would go by a couple of times a night, but other than that, it was great.

Nice spot. Pretty view of the bayou. Not far from New Orleans. Perfect location to travel from Slidell to New Orleans if you don’t wanna stay in the city. Only bad thing about it was it being right next to the train track. Will return

Weekend to Relax
This condo is nice and cozy in a convenient location for dinning and shopping. The one thing that I found to be not so welcoming was the odor of the water. We used bottled water for drinking and preparing our meals.

Slidell apt
This is an apt in an apt complex. Very quiet, enjoyed the patio overlooking the Bayou! TV too difficult to watch. The park next door is awesome for families or runners!! All in all, we enjoyed it and would rent again!!

The pictures do not do this little place justice ,so cute and it was perfect for quite no stress vacation .Neighborhood was quiet and friendly and good location. I also want to comment on how clean and nice the place smelled when we arrived and how easy it was to work with Cynthia and how quick her responses were to questions ,I would definitely stay here again if ever in that area..

Slidell
Stopped in Slidell as a half-way point to San Antonio. The Bungalow was very nice and we enjoyed our short stay. The only thing we would have liked would have been some information left in the bungalow of any points of interest near by, and some of the places to eat. We did have to purchase another wash cloth because there were only three in the bathroom. Two people staying two nights needed at least four. Other than that we would recommend this as a good place to stay for a couple. We also appreciate the owners quick response to texts, and the bungalow is really cute.

The apartment itself is clean, relatively new appliances, with a couch and chair in the living room that are both dated and a bit uncomfortable. The outside property is not kept up: pool unswimmable, BBQ unusable, covered picnic area too dirty and run down to really use. The owner is very responsive and for us it was fine because we wanted a fairly quiet place and we got that. The trains are definitely noisy but did not bother either of us.

This Bungalow is Clean, Cute, Comfortable and Convenient
This place has the 4 C’s, it is clean, cute, comfortable and convenient. We were fortunate to stay for a full month and really took advantage of all the amenities which include a full kitchen with a dishwasher, onsite coin op laundry room, beautiful view of the bayou, good Wi-Fi, cable tv and its convenient locations to the antique district and walking distance to several bars and restaurants. The unit itself was roomier than I expected based on the photos and had a nice storage area off the bathroom. Plenty of blankets and towels were provided as well as coffee makings. We will definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises.

Clean and cozy 1 BR condo on the Bayou!
My husband and I stayed at the condo Labor Day weekend and had a wonderful time. The weather was pretty bad for boat riding and fishing so we didn’t get to do much of that. The condo was neat and very clean. Stores and restaurants are within walking distance and also the park. We were able to launch our boat right behind the condo. The neighbors were very friendly and helpful. The train didn’t bother me because I grew up near a train track. The owner was very kind. The price was right. If you love staying on the water, fishing and sailing, this is a great place to stay.

Cute little one bedroom on the bayou !
This was a very neat and clean house located right on the bayou so very pretty. Only issue, a train track right beside property. Last train was at 11 and a train in the morning so not too disturbing. Otherwise a great place to stay.

Good location on the bayou
We enjoyed the convenience and location on the bayou. The price was economical and you can see the bayou and the pool from the living room and kitchen. Being close to Palmettos was nice! We also enjoyed seeing and hearing the train, which came by minimally. Price, location and convenience.

Great Spot, Great People
We loved everything about this place! The apartment, the location, the owner and the neighbors were all incredible! The apartment was so clean, and the perfect size. The location was also perfect! We woke up and had coffee on the dock of the bayou, while enjoying the view. And ended the day by fishing on the bayou with the neighbors and grilling/cooking on the shared deck by the pool! The owner was very nice! Checked in with us before arrival to see if she could do anything for us before arrival (i.e.: Turn on some lights, if we were arriving after dark) and even checked in with us the following day to make sure everything was going okay! The neighbors were very friendly and welcoming!
I read previously on other reviews about people not too fond of the train tracks being across the street, but honestly, it didn't bother us at all! (I'm sure it depends on the person and their sleeping habits as well) We will definitely be staying at this location again in the near future!

The house in very nice and comfortable. The only downsides to the property are it’s a 45 min drive to New Orleans, the water has a terrible odor and is in-consumable, and the property is in sort of an apartment complex that has a lot of traffic with not so trustworthy looking people. We had no problems though and enjoyed the stay. The owner is very nice and responds quickly. She will call you directly and talk over details of the house.

I was very pleased with the place and even more pleased by the caring attitude of the owner.

We spent a weekend at this condo. The condo was nicely appointed and the owner was very responsive to our needs. The kitchen was well stocked (bring your own coffee but filters and sugar is provided) although we really didn't cook much. The bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of pillows and blankets. My only complaint is that the condo is located right across the street from the railroad track and very near the station. Several trains went by all night, every night. I finally fell asleep after 2 or 3 trains but my husband said he counted 6 one night. If you are a light sleeper, this may not be the location for you (or pack ear plugs).

The condo was very clean. There were some mechanical issues with some items. However, the owner resolved them in a reasonable period of time. I was disappointed that there was not any cable TV available- just local antenna captured stations. Because there is a train crossing about a block away, the train engineer blows its loud
whistle every time he passes through it which occurred at night about three times which disturbed our sleep. Of course, the condo owner has no control over that. Also, I was not aware that this condo was in a complex which would have given us more privacy. Also, there was no iron or ironing board. Fortunately, I brought my travel iron.
