My wife and son and dog enjoyed staying at A Place To Stay in Derby. Just a short ride to the trails. And Pet Friendly!
We accidentally left something and Kate took the time to mail it back to us. Thank you!

We had a terrific stay in Derby in this great little house. We loved that we could lock our bikes in the shed and there was plenty of space for all our gear inside the house. The shower was amazing after an awesome day riding.

Winter stay.
The water pipes froze overnight (June frosts). It was easy to fix by tipping boiling water open the feeder pipe at ground level outside the bathroom.

Derby getaway
This was one of the only available properties over the Easter weekend and what a little gem it was! Right in the heart of Derby and with a beautiful view from the front porch, we quite enjoyed sitting by the fire with our puppies each night. A lovely space! Thanks guys ☺️

Great location
It was a lovely location in the middle of town, fire pit with a view plenty of wood - thank you! Had to message that day to get access as we hadn’t heard anything but we had quick replies and was all sorted. The open and large living/dining/kitchen was great plenty of space for us all and the storage shed and bike mechanic stand was much appreciated - highly recommended!

Great pet friendly place to stay and enjoy mtb @ Derby.
A well equipped comfortable house which has some of the character of it's historical mining background. Being pet friendly was a huge bonus for us. The bike shed is a big plus with tools, bike stand and powerpoints for charging ebikes. Kate was delightful to deal with.

Loved our stay
Very comfortable and close to everything you need in Derby. Excellent that we could have our dog with us and could ride back to check on him. Maybe the neighbouring fence could be fixed so your dog couldn’t get out but otherwise it was lovely.

Great Family Accommodation
Everything a family needs for an extended stay in Derby. It was so good to be able to wash bikes down after a day of riding then lock them away securely each night. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks Kate & Tim.

This cottage was a perfect place for us to spend the past three nights. It’s location is awesome - just a short stroll to the main cafe and shops and a couple minutes bike to the Blue Derby trailhead. Very clean and comfy, with everything we needed. We’d definitely recommend staying here!

Fantastic access to the trails and clean modern cottage
A very nice, clean and renovated traditional cottage. The house has both reverse cycle aircon/heating or a working fireplace if you like to have a fire - which we did. It is a very easy walk to the towns cafes/pubs/bike stores. My husband rode the trails right from the front door which was handy as he got quite muddy and putting the bike back in the hire car would not have been ideal. I was able to keep my toddler entertained on the nearby bridge and pump track and at crank it cafe which has a huge kids toy play space.
Just of note, we were here Monday and Tuesday night and there were very little food options open in the evening. Not a fault of the house - the house actually has very a well stocked kitchen - just a warning to pick up food if staying overnight on these days and be prepared to cook in.
Kate was very responsive and helpful and we would definitely stay again! Thanks!

Clean, comfy house in middle of Derby
Convenient to Derby trails. Well-equipped kitchen. Comfortable bedding. Modern bathroom. Wifi. The only disappointment was the firewood which was too green to burn properly in the wood stove. So we had to use the (very effective) heat pump instead!

Loved A Place to Stay in Derbs
We just spent 5 nights at a Place to Stay in Derby. The central location was perfect for riding right from the doorstep and walking distance to the park and local cafes. It still retains the old miners cottage feel, but has been updated making it very modern, comfortable and practical. The owners have given a lot of thought to the needs of mountain bikers with a shed for bikes with tools and work stands, through to a well-provisioned snack and mini bar (gels, bars, etc…). It was a perfect way to relax at the end of the day, sitting out on the front porch with great views over the river, watching happy riders return from the trails and visits from local chickens. It was also a great base to explore further afield (Weldborough, Ralphs falls, Pyengana etc…). Super stoked with this new accommodation option and we will definitely be back soon.
