Everyone liked the house and accommodations. The boat fit at the dock very well. The house is located just inside the cut so it is not a long ride to open water. The owner was responsive and quite helpful. We will definitely rent this place again. We caught a lot of fish, particularly for mid-August.

This was the second time staying at this wonderful home. Jason, the owner was quick to respond to any questions and very helpful with recommendations. I highly recommend this home for its great location and cleanliness. The dock area was my favorite with the diving board and great snorkeling!!

Was a great place to stay on our short term fishing trip.
Great boat dock with permanent bumpers and excellent dockage area for filleting Fish, staging and just relaxing.
Very good communication with Jason did everything he could to make our trip as success thanks again, Jason we will be back.

We truly enjoyed this well-maintained home and its dock in Freeport and near Lucaya, located on a beautiful canal cannot be any closer to the fishing grounds. The home features a nice dock which had plenty of room for our 34' center console. The kitchen was well stocked and we really enjoyed barbecuing and the main living area/pool table. Jason is an excellent host, attentive, very knowledgeable and helpful with any questions we had. We look forward to staying at Haven Del Mar again soon!

This was our first time in the Bahamas and this was the perfect house for our first stay. We loved sitting by the water in the morning with our coffee or sitting by while the kids were swimming. The house is clean and comfortable. It was nearby many things. The highlight was playing pool everyday. We'd highly recommend!

The house is in great shape, everything was very clean when we arrived (by private boat). The dock is in great shape, no issues there. Very relaxing to sit out there first thing in the morning or late at night. The beds were very comfortable, kitchen is well appointed with everything you would need. A/C works great, there are mini-splits in every room that are new. Took the bicycles for a ride down to Xanadu beach and we were literally the only people there. Jason provides an excellent and very detailed document that covers everything from how to get around, local attractions/stores and details about staying in the home. Overall an excellent experience, we will be back!

We spent the summer at Haven del Mar. It was a fantastic location for us to bring our boat and fish. We loved evenings on the dock and exploring the island by land and sea. Will be back!

We loved this home--it it new and very modern inside and out! The owner has taken every step to make it comfortable and absolutely care free! The beds are very comfortable, with high quality bedding. The bathrooms are roomy and modern as well. It sits on an impressively large lot with a nice view of the canal--which is great for swimming as there was very little traffic! Grand Bahama is a wonderful place and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

The house was great and the tiki bar is even better! It had everything we needed and is in a great location. Perfect house for a getaway.

We drove our boat over from Florida, and the house was very easy to find. The location is right off the Atlantic Ocean, but nice secluded canal. The neighborhood is very clean and nice. The house has everything you need for a wonderful family vacation. The dock had fresh water for washing and cleaning fish. A bar with wi fi tv and comfortable chairs await you on the dock. The house has recently been remodeled, and all your needs anticipated. They even provide bikes and kayaks for your use. And, yes, the shark really hangs over the pool table! The kitchen is equipped with all you will need to prepare a family meal. The bathrooms are impeccably clean. Bed are very comfortable and well appointed. We are already planning our next visit to this wonderful inviting house!

We had such a great time staying here, Jason the owner was awesome with everything!
Definitely recommend staying at this house very private but not to far from anything, Jason was amazing we ran out of propane an it was there the next morning! House was kept very clean inside an out, we loved the diving board an the snorkeling right off the dock! The pool table was an extra bonus since we didn’t have a car we stayed an cooked an had drinks an relaxed there no need to go anywhere.

Great place when you have a boat
This place was great! It is the Bahamas and expectations need to be in check regardless of a “5 star” resort or private home. If you have been to the Bahamas, you understand how rare working appliance are, and everything in the house operates. Everything is as described but if you are looking for a beach front resort this is not your cup of tea. It has easy access from the inlet, port Lucaya is a 10 min run by boat, and fishing grounds are just outside the inlet. We loved it and will visit again. Communication with Jason was great!

Dry dock elation
The house is nice but need some T.L.C. talking to Jason he say that the house will forgo a renovation by the end of the month.
We had some problems that I already discussed with Jason.
Over all we loved our stay. We were looking for quietness to be able to rest at night and we got it.
The house is confortable good A.C. kitchen sufficiently equipped. Good entertainment center.
I went and swim in the canal in front of the house, use the kayak and we had a BBQ outside.
I highly recommend the property.

Pictures are out of date
We were very disappointed with the cleanliness of the property and the fact the photographs listed on VRBO are not showing the current state of the property (out of date photos). We stayed at the location for a month and left it cleaner than we found it. Here is a list of the major issues:
- Area rugs in the kitchen, living room and under the pool table full of debris, food and sand.
- Kitchen cabinet toe kick area and the cutlery tray had old food.
- Dishes were so dirty we had to wash them all. Looked like the cleaner(s) wiped them with a dirty rag but didn’t use soap or water.
- Left with quarter roll of toilet paper.
- No propane on the BBQ.
- Patio table broken and had to be held up with another chair.
- The one and only patio wicker chair broken and unusable.
- Diving board broken and not attached to the dock area for use.
- Patio lounge chairs broken, we found one we could use but the legs were rusted and broken. (very sharp)
- No hammock.
- We couldn’t sit on the couch without using sheets because it felt so saturated with sweat, suntan lotion and tanning oil. You could see some one’s ass print in oil… it was just gross.
- TV sound continually cuts out.
- Toilet seat in the master bathroom was broken. Owner had someone come by with a replacement in the first week but put it in the closet saying she didn’t have the tools. We were there for a month and she never came back. She did leave us with a replacement lightbulb for the patio - we had to change it ourselves.
- Master bathroom toilet wouldn’t flush properly and stinks so bad we had to shut the door due to sewer fumes.
- Rugs in the bathroom dirty and not cleaned. I did find a booby pin in the rug when it went into my foot stepping out of the shower.
- No drinking water……. Salt content of the water is currently to high and is undrinkable. Locals are using drinking water stations or bottled water. If you don’t have a rental car you will have a difficult time getting water to drink.
- Next door house to the West (green house) had an audible exterior burglar alarm that went of every day 3 times or more lasting 20 minutes each time. It was so loud it woke our kids up at 3am multiple times and made sitting out side impossible when it was going off. This continued for the entire month we were at the location.
- I could go on but I have wasted enough time on this place.
This property is run down and the person watching the property for the owner is not taking care of it.

Perfect Place for a group of people or a couple of families!
Jason was great! Super attentive and quick to respond and give info! If you fish, dive or boat this place is perfect. Location is somewhat central. For perspective, a 15 minute, $25-$30 cab ride to Lucaya or Solomon's. The house was super clean. Everything worked well and enjoyed the pool table.
The dock space is adequate we had a 39' center console and it fit fine. Although I would suggest just getting rid of the beams on the lift that are in the water. There is no salvaging them, may as well get rid of them to give more depth in the slip. Just a suggestion.
We will be back! I recommend staying here; great place.

Home away from Home
This property was everything we hoped it would be and more. The owner, Jason was helpful from questions about the reservation and throughout the pre-arrival and departure. We arrived by private boat and were able to dock behind the home. the owner provided us with a bevy of local way points for fishing and diving. We ate fresh fish every night including a lobster dinner caught in a secret location! Jason will let you know where when you book the home!

Quiet Week
The pictures don't represent this property accurately, it's even better in person.
Had a great time fishing the channel and a few other areas the owner put us on. We booked last minute and the owner was able to schedule a phone call and provide us with exceptional information on fuel, bait, locations, restaurants and other key topics.
We spent a few hours each evening jumping off the dock and swimming. They are near completion of a lounge at the dock...it already looks great. Cant wait to see it when it's completed.
The house was clean and had everything we expected. The pool table provided us with a lot of entertainment in the evenings! Washer & dryer worked well. Kitchen and bathrooms were well equipped.
The owner shared a large list of local dive sites and was equally open with fishing locations...a true ambassador to sports fishing. Most folks build these list after many years, a lot of money and sacrifice but then guard their efforts. Kudos for being a great ambassador!
We had a wonderful time at this home and are already planning our next trip.
Thanks for having our family!

This island has a lot of potential, sad to see the amount of buildings and properties left abandoned
House was comfortable and clean, dock needs work. Tiki bar will be an asset once it is finalized. Great to swim at dock area. Xanadu beach was a great place to swim and Tan. Had fun playing wit the pool table.

Awesome place, amazing host, will definitely stay here again!
This home was a very comfortable and clean home. It is located close to everything Grand Bahamas has to offer. We rented this home for our family Christmas vacation (all of us adults) we had lots of room and really enjoyed the pool table. Jason, the host was very responsive and accommodating.

We absolutely loved the shark above the pool table quite a conversation piece. Definitely stay again and look forward to the dock area being finished. Thank you for sharing your home.

Incredible
Just purchased a new (used) boat and wanted to find a place to take the family for the week. We were all so glad that we came to Haven Del Mar. The owner gave me great information on where to put the boat in, advice on the crossing, where to clear and get fuel. He even gave us some gps numbers that he has found in his 20 years on the island to get fish and lobster. We destroyed the tuna!! Pulling up to the dock was priceless. There weren't any marina fees to deal with and no dragging our gear through the lobby of some hotel. We cleaned the fish and slapped them right on the grill. The home was beautifully decorated. My family had a pool table competition every night. The winner didn’t have to clean the dishes. Later in the night the kids were able to watch tv in their room while my wife and I sat outside and enjoyed the serenity of the island sounds. Just before dawn was our favorite. The birds sang an orchestra outside our windows. I recommend getting a car to see the caves at Lucayan National Park. You can get there by boat, but it’s a little tricky. There is a grocery store nearby that has everything you need. We had a little trouble with our trim motor and were able to get everything we needed from a yamaha dealer on the island. Prices were more expensive but well worth it. Down at the dock they are building a tiki bar and sitting area which looks like an amazing addition. We will definitely be back.

Amazing vacation home
This is a beautiful home and location. I would highly recommend it for a family of up to 6 or just a couple looking for a relaxing getaway. The home is clean and accommodating which made it very easy to relax and enjoy our vacation. Being right on the water provided us with so many fun activities such as swimming, kayaking, fishing and snorkeling. The diving board into the ocean is perfect for keeping kids entertained for hours and honestly made me feel like a kid again myself. There are 2 large patios which are great for sunbathing while socializing and enjoying cocktails or just quietly relaxing with a good book. If you need to get out of the sun there is a pool table inside and apply tv in every bedroom with reliable high speed internet. The large open kitchen is great for cooking and the beds and couches are clean and comfortable. All around you can’t go wrong with this little piece of paradise. I look forward to returning soon.

Beautiful spot to enjoy Grand Bahama Island
The house was wonderful! Location close to some beautiful beaches and close to grocery and places to eat. We loved enjoying our morning coffee on back patio and sitting down by the canal enjoying the sun and breezes. It’s wonderful to be able to jump in and enjoy the water without all of the sand! The canal is quiet... we saw maybe three boats the entire time we were there. I’d imagine that if you have your own boat, this place would be even more amazing as there is a dock right there and access through the canal to the ocean. They are currently working on some seating and what looks to be an outdoor kitchen type area. When this is finished... I wouldn’t see any reason to go anywhere else. We ventured to Gold Beach and Paradise Cove as well as Xanadu beach. Take my advice... go in the morning and you will have it to yourself. We didn’t see but maybe 5 people when we were there. There are NO facilities at this beach so bring everything you need, but it’s calm for children and a beautiful walk. It’s sad Xanadu resort is closed, I found myself wanting to go explore the empty grounds but decided against it... no one wants to get arrested on vacation. I felt very safe in the neighborhood and at the beaches. We spent days at a beach or on the back canal and then grabbed dinner at Port Lucaya then back to the house for games and relaxation. You can still see a lot of recovery going on from the devastating hurricanes, but there is rebuilding and it’s not overrun with tourists. We truly enjoyed it. You could not ask for better hosts...very responsive and helpful. I’d certainly recommend this house to anyone wanting to visit the Bahamas. Having a washer and dryer was a bonus as I didn’t go back with any dirty laundry. Comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, the list goes on and on.I truly can’t say enough about this place...it was incredible! Do yourself a favor...book a week or two... you’ll be glad you did!

Wonderful place and great family time!
Stayed at Haven Delmar for a week. Beautiful white sand beach is just 2-3 minutes away (if that much, you can bike to it), almost had that beach to ourselves. Found several conch while snorkeling. Everything is short driving distance (once you get to used to driving in Bahama), if you need grocery or town. There are so many sea life you can see along the canal, and we saw a sea turtle while kayaking. Kids loved jumping off from diving board. Owner pointed us to a bakery (bread is awesome!), and we found a cute lighthouse as we drove. House is very comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated. Owner is building a lounge area and a bar at the dock so that would be really nice addition to this place to relax and enjoy once it’s done! Owner is very responsive when we had any questions. We enjoyed our stay, highly recommended for those looking for a private place to stay, with a boat or without!

Absolutely perfect, peaceful getaway, and great location
Always a great get away. The house is wonderful, it has everything my family needs for a week. The location is perfect for boaters. Able to get off the dock and be diving and fishing with in minutes. Love being able to fish and dive then come back to the house to make dinner. Will be coming back.

Always consistent beauty!
This house and vacation time get better and better each and every time we go. The house is perfectly redecorated to make it feel like home with a beach flare. The house, owner and the experience is always a consistently good time!

Nice but kind of isolated
The home is very nice, but getting to the beach is not as easy or safe(?) as I would have liked. I’m writing this because I keep getting emails to leave a review. I left a note on the fridge and hopefully they do incorporate some of those suggestions. Would have liked to have fishing gear- even went on a hunt around the island to find it and snorkeling gear (found googles and snorkel for $80 at dive shop.) Boys I brought got bored, and I really had to work to keep them active. I won’t go into why I didn’t feel safe letting them bike to the beach, but there was a reason. One kayak made going out kayaking a solo experience. Boat that was moared there made using the diving board dangerous. Island itself is still suffering from recovering from hurricane Matthew(2 years almost!) and many places are closed. Owner was very nice and communicative.

beautifully decorated house in a quiet neighborhood
Beautifully remodeled property in a quiet residential neighborhood. The canal was great to fish off of as well as to kayak and snorkel around. There were a few broken/worn items in the house but after speaking with the owner, I feel assured that these will be taken care of. Would recommend heading to Gold Rock beach, you will not find anything prettier. Overall, a very quiet island, not a lot of tourism.

Great Freeport Vacation (Again)
This is our 2nd stay at this beautiful house on the Bahamia Canals. My family and I love everything about this place. From swimming, fishing, and kayaking in the canals to the easy access to Port Lucaya, Xanadu Beach, and other local spots.
We will definitely visit again.
FYI, if you are looking for a wonderful Fishing experience while in Freeport, look up Captain Muff (Facebook "Tailing Boner"). He took us out and chased down some nice Mahi and Mackarel.
Thanks for everything Jason.
