Fantastic island, welcoming house and managers always available to solve the problems that may arise.
Obviously consider that you are on an undeveloped island where everything is more laid back and the things move slower in an area with a lot of land, bushes and many dirt roads without streetlights.
Towards sunset the sand flies will keep you company swimming in the pool and leaving on your legs an indelible memory of the island with many bites.
Often there can be no electricity and this also means being left without water in the house, but after a couple of hours everything is resolved. It can happen that the inefficiency of the electricity supplier sometimes creates overvoltages to the network that can cause damage to both your devices and those inside the house (e.g. air conditioners) and if this happens during the weekend take into account that, despite the efficiency and industriousness of the property managers, the problem will not be resolved before 4-5 days. Don't try to complain to the owners because they will tell you that this is what can happen when you are in these beautiful but underdeveloped islands.
However,if I could I would pay this price again tomorrow to experience this magnificent island again.
Briana and her sister are excellent managers who always know how to give the right advice and try to be available to solve problems. However, they could sometimes be less business women and more women of heart when their guests are in an emergency situation.

Loved the location, pool was great. Easy check-in. Would recommend and stay there again.

We had such a nice time in sugar apple during our trip to Eleuthera. The location is ideal and the beaches are beautiful. The host were very helpful. We had a pressing question and they responded immediately and were able to answer. The house is roomy and was perfect, for the four of us, we would definitely stay again Wes and Mario loved hidden beach the most and spent so much time snorkeling.

We spent a week at Sugar Apple and loved it! The location is great if you want to explore the entire island and it's very close to Rainbow Bay Beach, one of our favorites. The house itself is laid out well, with three separate bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a nice kitchen area and living room. It was perfect for our family of four, which includes two teenage boys. The pool is wonderful (and well-maintained), and we used it often after our daily adventures. The host was very responsive to a minor water problem, which was resolved almost immediately. We will definitely consider staying at Sugar Apple again when we return to Eleuthera. Highly recommended.

We tried to cancel at the last minute having no possibility to be at the rental and once the card was processed, it was no longer the host’s problem, did not even answer my messages. Very disappointed, I use VRBO often and this was not good management. We’ll be on the island again next year but never booking there again even if it looked great on the pictures.

Family vacation. The house was everything we needed. The washer and dryer was a huge plus. Thank you!

This property worked well for our family of 5. Very spacious and our kids loved having the pool. We also LOVED that rainbow bay beach was close by. Contact with the owner was great and they even allowed us to drop suitcases off during cleaning so we didn't have to leave them in our vehicle while we explored beaches. Would stay again.

Beautiful house with plenty of room for everyone! Hosts were very quick to respond to any questions and requests. The views are incredible and walking down to hidden beach for sunset was easy and beautiful! Pool was a very nice bonus to a great house!

Love love. I stayed here back in 2019 and I was excited to see they added a pool! The host was great with communication. Only minor issue was the water went out a few times while washing a load of clothes but I didn’t mind. Overall, great stay!

Very comfortable home that is well adapted to a family with two young kids (9 and 10). The pool was perfect to cool off, we were there for the last week of July and the weather was hot (38C). The location is peaceful and quiet with few neighbors and very close to two beaches. Food and amenities are expensive on the island and you might not find what you're looking for in the general stores there, so pack your coffee/tea if you are fussy about that. The people of Eleuthera are friendly and accommodating and we felt safe at all times during our stay wherever we went. Make sure to have bug spray for the noseeums!

My family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) stayed here for 7 nights. Communication with the owners was excellent. They always replied quickly and gave helpful tips. We arrived at noon and needed to wait for the house cleaner to finish up. The owner gave us the perfect plan for how to spend our first few hours on the island.
We loved the location. It's close to Cravings (excellent bakery) and Rainbow Inn (great food and view). Within a 45 min drive (North and South), we had access to Gaulding Cay, Queen's Baths, Glass Window Bridge, Preacher’s Cave, Tay Bay, Gene's Dock, Twin Coves, Ten Bay, and Receiver's Beach (and more).
The pool! My kids spent every minute at the house in the pool. It was clean, refreshing, and deep enough for all of us to enjoy.
The house was spacious enough that we didn't feel like we were on top of each other the whole time. AC worked well and cooled the rooms quickly on arrival. Furniture was clean and comfy, and all appliances worked.
Some reviews mention the house needing TLC...this is not touristy Nassau. Getting parts/replacements to the island is expensive and takes time. However, that's the trade-off for beautiful beaches that are practically empty. The electricity did go off frequently but never lasted long (maybe an hour). There was nothing about the house that affected our stay or made us regret renting it. We would definitely rent again!

The house and pool (awesome) were just as shown on the website and had all the necessities. We enjoyed beautiful views of the ocean and cool breezes while relaxing on the deck. It was in a perfect location on the island, with easy access to north and south beaches and shops. Our border collie loved the fenced in yard and made new friends too! The hosts quickly responded to our questions and gave great recommendations for rental car, phones, etc. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

The house was as described and we didn't have any issues aside from a short power outage on arrival. With no power, there is no running water and no internet with which to message the hosts. It gets really hot FAST and all of the windows don't open. Apparently, these happen regularly and cannot be avoided.
The elements are tough on houses there and it is in need of maintenance, but it served us well. The view is great from the deck and pool area! I did not use the pool, but it was clean and inviting.
The driveway has a pretty big drop-off, so we had to park more in the street as we had a compact car not equipped to handle it. This was not a problem though; it's not a busy road.
House was stocked with all we needed in the way of plates and utensils and linens, but there are no food staples at all, so be prepared to buy EVERYTHING or bring it with you. (Probably COVID's fault)
Location is great, very close to the Rainbow Inn which has good food and great pizzas.
Overall, a good house that I would recommend for large groups that would like a pool.

We had a wonderful stay in Rainbow Bay. The location of the home was central and conveniently located to everything we were interested in exploring. We enjoyed having the pool as an option. Endless gorgeous beaches to explore. It was fun to be able to pop back and forth between Caribbean side and Atlantic side beaches. Great first time experience in Eleuthera!

We had a very good time at the Sugar Apple house, and a positive experience.
The house isn’t the newest and definitely needs updating, but it is fully functional - including AC, washer/dryer and a reverse osmosis water filtration system (which was super handy to have for drinking water).
The dated house really didn’t effect us, as we spent most days out exploring the island. The location is great, and was close to all of our favorite areas of north Eleuthera.
Brianna was great to deal with and is very responsive.

Our family stayed here for 12 days with 2 toddlers and this place was perfect! Central location made it easy to travel North or South whichever we chose each day. Lazy days were spent by the pool in the morning sun and Rainbow Beach in the afternoon. Pool was chilly but expected in February, however very refreshing on the real hot days and the pool was kept very clean. Great ocean view of the Atlantic and loved listening to the waves each night. AC worked quick every time we turned it on, kitchen had everything we needed. Some real nice dining options were 10 minute drive to James Cistern or 10 minute to Hatchet Bay. Owners were very prompt answering any questions we had. Would definitely stay here again!

Quiet Neighborhood. Safe place to stay.
6.0 / 10.0
The property was overall a decent place. Rooms were very big, the four A/C units worked very well. The house is away from all traffic and offered ocean views. The place could use some maintenance (for safety, aesthetics, and function). The property is definitely in need of a lot of cleaning. The owners were great to deal with, very responsive to questions. Eleuthera is very quiet, next to no tourists and locals are extremely polite!

The property certainly has everything you need for a comfortable stay: Cookware, dishware (even Christmas themed for the Holidays), towels, washer/dryer, starting essentials (dish soap, tp, paper towels). The AC worked great and the pool was lovely and extremely clean. The location is very convenient and has beautiful views overlooking the Atlantic and the Rainbow Bay beach park is a lovely 20-25 minute walk (5 min. drive) to a beautiful little beach on the Caribbean to take in stunning sunsets. Rainbow Bay Inn has a great restaurant and is only about a 5-7 minute drive and Big Rock convenience store is a simple 5-7 minute drive for any essentials you may need. Our only recommendation would be to provide a small amount of cleaner in the kitchen for cleaning kitchen and countertops and stovetop since we did a lot of cooking. We highly recommend bringing a cooler of frozen meats with you because it will save you a ton of money on food costs. Thank you for a lovely stay on this incredibly beautiful island!

The house is located in the middle of the island so it was great for exploring the different parts of eleuthera. We rented a car from mack rentals as suggested by the host which went smoothly. This was our first time in eleurhera (and in the bahamas). We stayed late November through early December. For the reviews complaining about ants, we did see some on the first day when we checked in, but as long as you keep the counters clean, you won't see them. I cooked breakfast every day and dinner most days and they were not a problem for us at all. You'll just have to buy some cleaner from the store and clean up after yourself. The pool is not heated but we enjoyed it when it was hot in the mornings to cool down. The sun is directly on the pool in the morning so just jump in and you get used to the water in no time. This is a special place for sure and we are glad we had the opportunity to stay here.

Eluthera... It's not for Everyone
This was our second trip to Eluthera and first time staying in Rainbow Bay. The house was great. Pool was clutch to have when the beaches were crowded or buggy. While there may be nicer homes on Eluthera, this was perfect for our needs (2 adults, 2 kids). Was great to have access to two Atlantic side beaches and the Rainbow Bay Beach on the Caribbean side - all within a short 3-5min drive. Not really walkable with two small kids, but still accessible. As some of the other reviewers have said, the house and furnishings are a little well-loved, but perfectly comfortable.

Clean in rainbow bay
The owners were very accommodating and let us check in early / drop off luggage, they were excellent at timely communication. The home was clean and it was just what we needed for the last few nights on the island. Good view of the waves from the deck. Rainbow bay is a good location and the beach on the Caribbean side was good snorkeling. The kids swam in the pool in the morning when the sun was on it otherwise it was a bit cold with the wind in the afternoon / evening. Some general upkeep and fixes could be done but for the price point it was fine.

Rainbow Beach
We loved the house, charming, very clean, great views... the only thing that would make it any better is more comfortable queen mattresses. We would absolutely recommend this house!

Wonderful house
This home was a great location, we could watch the sunrise over the ocean. The breeze was wonderful and we really didn't need AC. The kitchen was equipped with everything you would need to cook, which we did most days. The pool was nice to have for my son to play in, although warning it is not heated and was just filled up with hose water so a bit cold for the adults. Close to rainbow beach and only a short drive to many of the islands other beaches.
The only downside is I do think the house could supply paper products and garbage bags. I have rented many homes through vrbo, a few on Eleuthera and have never had to buy garbage bags or toilet paper.

Perfect seaside oasis
We loved this house so much! It was spacious, clean, and perfectly adequate for our needs. The kitchen is well equipped, the pool was great, and we enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and checking out Hidden beach and Rainbow beach on foot. The rest of the island is accessible by car and you will likely do a LOT of driving to see all that Eleuthera has to offer. Definitely rent an SUV! We just loved our little oasis and looked forward to returning “home” each night.

Beautiful views, comfortable stay
We chose this location due to the proximity to friends of ours who own property in Rainbow Bay. The house was clean, roomy and cool. The pool was nice, but due to time of year, it was a little cool to spend a lot of time in. However, there are a couple beaches within walking distance. It was our first time in Eleuthera, and we enjoyed it's seclusion and beauty. The weather was perfect. Would definitely rent this property again

Affordable family fun
A great vacation spot for family and friends. Only issue was the pool had not been treated so the water was not clear so my kids weren't happy to go in. The pool guy was called by owners which was nice but unfortunately the pool was not usable with our stay. There's games for family fun and dvds and reading books. That was a nice touch. I would rent again possibly for an entire weekend.

Lots of space
I rented this house because it was right next door to the house that my friends were staying in. It was very spacious and clean. I only needed it to sleep because I spent my day with my friends next door or at the beach. The only issue was the little ants in the kitchen but that’s usually the case at any vacation rental
On the island. The price was reasonable and not too far from the beach.

A cozy home, some trouble with baby ants ,MB shower wasn’t working and unable to open a few windows
Cute home on a quiet street, great views, a few issues with ants ,MB shower not working and a couple of windows and the French doors not opening. Otherwise we had a great time.

Quiet, relaxing and comfortable
This was our second stay on Eleuthera and at this property. The house was comfortable and served our needs perfectly. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood and we spent a few afternoons sitting on the deck (when there was a breeze) relaxing after spending an hour or two at the beach. The house is a quick drive to Rainbow Bay Beach and was within a reasonable distance to the other beaches that we wished to spend time at this vacation. There was an issue with the ac in one of the bedrooms on the first night - Melisa was very responsive and had someone out there to repair the unit the next morning. I am sure that we will return to Eleuthera again and we would definitely consider staying at this property when we return.

Great stay with a beautiful view
What a great place to stay. With an Atlantic beach on one side and a Caribbean beach on the other side, and both within walking distance. We had a great time meeting local people and eating local food. And the scenery was unmatched. This was a great cozy place to relax between outings and chill at night.

One night stay enjoyable
Thanks for letting us stay at sugar apple until we could get to our weekly rental. Sugar apple has a beautiful view of the ocean from the balcony and the master bedroom. AC in all bedrooms and living areas, however for our 1 night stay we decided to sleep in the smaller bedroom as it was easier to cool faster than the master bedroom. There is no generator at sugar apple so know ahead of time you will just need to go outside and catch a breeze. Power went out while we were at sugar apple and almost everyday we have been on the island including our other rental. The place is well equipped with towels in the bathrooms. There is a nice tradition of leaving condiments here which is a nice thing to have. Brianna’s directions were on point and I took her recommendations to use for a car rental and eating at rainbow bay. I would improve the kitchen utensils and provide at least 1 other kitchen garbage bag/bathroom bags for guests use would be my only recommendation. There were no trash bags in the bathrooms. Thanks again!
