About this cottage rental
We are open and taking reservations for 2023. Check our calendar for available dates.
Comfortable and roomy three bedroom, one bath cottage; master with queen bed and side bedrooms with two twin beds in each make this is a very family friendly home. The living room has a woodstove, plenty of books, and also a queen sleeper couch for extra guests. The bathroom has recently been renovated. The country kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and cleaning supplies. A lobster pot and propane gas cooker are available as well in addition to the propane gas grill on the front deck.
Filtered views to the islands, cove, and harbor entrance give breathtaking sights of sailboats and working lobster boats out front. At night you can hear the harbor bell buoy or see the lights from boats, buoys and lighthouses. In 2018 we added a firepit that tenants seem to enjoy, and overall seems to enhance your outdoor experience.
The general store is a pleasant half-mile’s walk, where you will also find restaurants, a post office, the town landing – and a short distance further the town office and large library. Kayaking in the harbor and cove out front is easy and rentals are available locally. The town landing is available free for all water craft. Drift Inn Beach is close by and provides a sandy, family-friendly setting.
Enjoy secured wifi, a TV, DVD player, and puzzles and family games. Work on your laptop while sitting in the warm sun of the deck or snooze in the adirondack chairs out front.
We appreciate you not smoking inside the cottage. We’re sure you’ll enjoy our cottage as much as our many returning guests do.

Judy’s Red Cottage is the perfect old fashioned Maine vacation cottage! Our family of 6 had a wonderful week here, making great memories on the beach and nearby adorable towns. The cottage is spacious and comfortable, with plenty of games and books for rainy days. The cottage is exactly as described, and we wouldn’t change a thing about it. Already looking forward to coming back next summer!

The cottage is sweet and cozy. Judy and Fred are amazing. The view of the harbor is incredible. Drift Inn beach is great. Marshall point lighthouse is lovely. Port Clyde Christian Church is awesome. The area is full of great people and things to do for an adventurous, outdoorsy family. We rented a kayak and went out to High Island. Everything was great, and Judy and Fred are truly stellar hosts.

Staying in the red cottage was a delight! The view of the harbor is spectacular. This is a way to experience a Maine summer the way it used to be. We loved the outdoor spaces, the charming children’s rooms, the incredible collection of books. A great space and location for friends and family. Very grateful we found it. Judy and Fred could not have been more helpful.

We loved our stay at the Red Cottage, rustic and comfortable, as was our queen bed! We slept so well. It really is a great location for going out to one of the islands or the Camden Hills or the Farnsworth Museum in Rockland. The view of the water from the porch and the fire pit gave me such pleasure.

We could’ve stayed in this little cottage for weeks. Felt at home immediately. Judy and Frank were wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome and we really appreciated how seriously they are taking cleanliness during the pandemic. Everything was just right from the idyllic ocean views through the living room picture window to the fire pit to the walls of books for any indoor days. We hope to come back someday soon.

Great location and place to enjoy that area of mid-coast Maine. Weather - cool and damp on several days - didn't keep us from enjoying the towns and lighthouses and villages, etc.
