About this bed and breakfast
Moonee Habitat BnB is a great place for an overnight stay or a short break away. Designed for couples only and not suitable for children the purpose built room has a queen size bed, ensuite and a mini kitchenette that doubles as a workspace.
Homemade treats, sparkling water and a healthy nutritious breakfast are all provided in the room for you to enjoy at your leisure. On request and for an additional fee, cheese and wine platters are available.
The outdoor space in the breezeway has a table and chairs for out of room dinning or just relaxing and listening to the birds in the adjacent bush.
Take a stroll to the beautiful Moonee Estuary and beyond with numerous walks to enjoy. There are picnic tables and BBQ's at the reserve. This is a popular place to chill by the waters edge and spectacular place to have dinner on full moon.
Conveniently located just a minute off the A1 highway at the end of a quiet street surrounded by bush you couldn't find a more peacefully relaxing place to stay.
Moonee Shopping Centre is only a 5 minute walk, with plenty of dinning options, Coles supermarket, health food shop and all the other amenities you may require. Situated adjacent to the shopping centre is the very popular Moonee Tavern and bottle shop.
The Coffs Coast is truly a unique area - where the "Mountains meet the Sea". There is so much to explore, so if you do decide to stay for a couple of days we can give you some great tips on things to do.
Interaction with your hosts is entirely up to you. If we end up sitting and chatting for a bit, that would be lovely but if solitude is what you're after we respect that too. Knowing that we're always available if you need anything. Our aim is to make your Moonee Beach experience a pleasurable one.
Additional Info:
Just a few minutes walk is Moonee Beach reserve and estuary with endless water activities to be enjoyed. On high tide you can kayak/canoe or paddle board up the estuary to either fish or explore the wonders of the waterway. Swimming against the tide in the estuary is also a popular form of exercise for many locals. As is an early morning surf at the beach. Alternatively you could go for a walk to the headland in search of whales and dolphins or further beyond along the beautiful beaches to the north and south. This is part of the great Solitary Island Coastal Walk from Sawtell to Arrawarra (60km).There are BBQ’s and a picnic area right on the estuary for you to take full advantage of.
Moonee Beach shopping centre is just 5 minute walk with all the amenities you would need, including 3 dining options. In the same complex is a 24/7 gym and indoor swimming pool. Across the car park is the Moonee tavern and bottle shop.
Moonee Habitat BnB is located just off the A1 highway 7 minutes north of Coffs Harbour. Buses run daily to Coffs Harbour and Woolgoolga, there is also a local taxi service. Pick up from the airport can be arranged.
If you're a cyclist there are cycle lanes both on the highway and local roads to the north and south of Moonee Beach. As well as many great rides into the hinterland on the western side of the highway.

This is a great spot to stay for a recharge and couple days in the area. We loved the hosts, the breakfast is great, and the house is in a perfect location to walk along the beach, go to local shops, or a short car ride from the more downtown parts. Our hosts were amazing and recommended places to go as we continued our roadtrip up the west coast that were further highlights. For sure pick this place if you are in the area.

Private room with all the facilities that you need plus excellent breakfast selection in fridge which was unexpected (I may not have read that bit in the details !)
Our host gave a full and detailed induction on how everything worked plus what was of interest within walking distance of the property.
All good.

Very comfortable bed which afforded us a restful night’s sleep. Host was welcoming. It would have been a more comfortable stay if a chair or stool with a back had been provided, as we are elderly and find no comfort sitting on backless stools.

We were greeted so warmly once we arrived at the property, which had been beautifully prepared for us. We got a nice run down of what is around and it's location is perfect to a local beach and walking distance to shops and restaurants.
The property was super clean, comfortable and could not ask for anything more.

Our overnight stay at Moonee Beach was delightful. We were greeted by Matt, Cheryl's husband, who was very relaxed and easy to relate to. He showed us into our accommodation which was beautifully appointed, clean and well stocked with fresh juice, 'real' milk and for me the highlight was real ground coffee and a plunger. A delightful breakfast was provided and we felt 'at home' immediately. We met Cheryl the next morning and found communicating with both Cheryl and Matt very easy. We were treated to a coffee they kindly prepared for us before we set off. It is clear Cheryl has a real design flair and she and Matt have created a perfect hideaway for guests whom they both obviously enjoy welcoming to their little piece of paradise. Cannot recommend more highly. Thank you so very much.

From the moment I booked to the time I left, Cheryl answered any query I had, provided instructions for parking right through to anything we may possibly need during our stay. The home made baked goods and breakfasts were beautiful. The room had everything we needed, exceptionally clean and tidy. Am looking forward to staying again soon.

This was our favorite stop on our drive from Sydney to Brisbane - only wish we had decided to stay more than one night. Cheryl and Matt were like long lost friends, the food was delicious and fresh, everything provided including picnic supplies were well thought out and the location was ideal. We loved walking down to the estuary and beach but the highlight was getting up for sunrise with the roos at Look At Me Now Point - an easy short drive as recommended by our fabulous hosts!

Great overnight stop between Sydney and Brisbane
This property is run by a friendly and welcoming host. The entire booking process was very smooth, with the host answering my questions promptly. Breakfast was scrumptious, filling and host went out of her way to meet my dairy free dietary requirements. Perfect location, 2 mins off the highway and very reasonably priced. The room was clean, comfortable and very quiet. Host suggested taking one of the many nearby walks which provided spectacular views of the coastline. I highly recomend this venue and will be staying again, (only longer next time) so as to enjoy more of the walks in the immediate area.

Welcome respite
Cheryl and Matt were so welcoming. Their accommodation was cosy and comfortable with everything we needed. Yummy cake, tea and coffee selection on arrival and a lovely breakfast waiting in the fridge for us to indulge in the next morning.
My daughter and I were on our second day of the Solitary islands coastal walk and Habitat was the perfect stopover after a day of walking along the beach from Woolgoolga. Cheryl even offered great local knowledge on getting over Moonee creek and alternatives to our walk heading south the next day. Thank you for that tip, it was so nice to save our legs from the soft sand on the beach and having some time walking a lovely bush track instead. Highly recommend Habitat as a stopover even just for some time away to enjoy Beautiful Moonee creek and surrounds.
