About this cabin rental
The Cottage at Winghaven is a light filled log cabin located less than 20 minutes to Asheville. The Cottage is privately located on 38 acres of forest but with easy access to shopping and restaurants.
Relax in front of the wood burning stove, soak up the sun on the south facing deck or have a drink and watch the wild turkeys from the covered porch. The Cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway or for families!
The main floor is accessible from the driveway without navigating stairs.
Main floor: The bedroom with a forest view has a queen bed and attached bathroom with step in shower. The living room has a Danish wood burning stove, and sliding glass doors to the south facing porch where you can soak up the sun and enjoy the view in classic Adirondack chairs. The covered front porch is also accessible from the living room and is inviting for a coffee on a rainy summer afternoon. The contemporary kitchen is well equipped to create memorable dinners.
Loft: The sleeping loft is fun and comfortable for kids and adults alike. It is connected to the main floor and lower level with a spiral staircase. There are four twin beds with memory foam mattresses and a view out the south wall of windows.
Lower Level: The lower level of the Cottage features a large bedroom suite with a queen bed, sitting area and sliding glass doors to the outside. There is a private bathroom with soaking tub, separate shower and two sinks. The lower level is connected with a spiral staircase but also has its own entrance from outside.
The Cottage is a convenient home base for the multitude of activities our area has to offer: Visit the Biltmore Estate ( 11miles), Downtown Asheville (12 miles), Historic Hendersonville (14 miles), go tubing or kayaking on the French Broad River, zip lining, drive the Blue Ridge Parkway, hike a different trail every day or see five magnificent waterfalls in just one day. There are wine tastings, beer tours, music and dance performances to attend and fabulous restaurants to try. Biking is a favorite sport here be it on the road or on mountain trails. We are more than happy to help you with planning your vacation so please talk to us and let us know what you are interested in.
Of course the Cottage is also an awesome place to just relax, enjoy the sun shining through the leaves, the peace of the forest and the starlit nights.
Please note that the Cottage is accessed by a private gravel road but 4-wheel drive is usually not necessary. We are happy to talk you about the road if you have concerns about driving in the mountain!
We live about 10 minutes from the cottage. We are usually available to stop by if you need us to, and we are always available by phone. You'll receive an electronic lock code so check in and check out is easy. You'll enjoy complete privacy at the Cottage, but we are available if anything needs our attention.

My family and our dog enjoyed the stay here so much, hopefully we can come back again. I’m an OCD and the house is super clean like it showed in the pictures. The bed and the bed linens were so comfortable!

My family and I had a fantastic time here. Great accommodation central to everything we wanted to do.

We had a wonderful time in this quaint cottage. We love the tranquility and the beautiful view of the trees from the back porch. The cottage contained everything you could possibly need in easy to find places. The only down sides were that parking is down a steep hill. If it is raining, beware. Finally, the gravel road is narrow.

My boyfriend, Karl Hoffmann and his mom Paula joined me at your lovely home to celebrate his 53rd birthday. Truly beyond our expectations – gorgeous setting and the home was delightful! Going to share the information with my brothers and mom, and we most likely will be booking another trip to one of your beautiful homes. Thank you so much for the opportunity to share this gorgeous cabin - Absolutely fantastic!

The Cottage was all we expected and more. We felt remote, but Asheville was a relatively short ride away. We relaxed and had good R&R for the working folks and a great change of scenery and schedule for the retirees.

This place is exactly what we needed! It’s secluded enough so it’s completely private, and we loved hanging out on the deck soaking in the sun and nature, but it’s also close enough to Asheville so we could enjoy the town and good restaurants. The cabin is super clean and comfortable. Our kids especially loved the loft and the soaking tub.

This was a perfect weekend getaway. The house was very clean and comfortable with all needed amenities. Beautiful wooded and private mountain view. A comfortable bed, both drip and keurig coffee makers, well stocked kitchen utensils, and great bathtub. I did bring a chromecast to plug into the TV for more watching options which can be considered if you will be spending much time in the house. Tricky driveway at times but very possible still without AWD. ~20 min to Asheville city life. Would definitely go back!

We wanted a unique place to stay when our family planned our trip to the Biltmore and the Winghaven Cottage fit the bill perfectly! My daughters loved the sleeping loft, spiral stairs and log exterior - all reasons I chose this home! Saskia was very prompt in replying to my inquiries. The cabin was extremely clean and very well stocked. We love the homemade goat milk soap and luxury hair products. My kids loved the chicken scrap bucket that went to Jof and Saskia's farm. 😊 And thank you for collecting recyclables as not many rental properties do. Overall wonderful experience!

This was a great property. Very quiet and not too much of a hike up the mountain. Trees were changing colors so beautiful from the deck. Great amenities for cooking and comfortable space for relaxing.

We had such a wonderful time here, I would highly recommend and we can't wait to come back to either one of the two places they have! She was so quick to respond and give us ideas of things and places to go and see, house was so cool and pretty and centrally located to everything we wanted to do! Thanks again!

We were looking for a quiet getaway from work, every day life and the stress that accompanies. This was a great place to do that, it was fairly secluded but close to shops and stores. I grew up in the mountains so this was a perfect getaway for me. My wife grew up in NYC so every trip to the mountains is enjoyable for her.
I will admit, the driveway is a bit steep, but I was aware from the reviews and the description provided by the owners. The parking spot on the road is close enough that it was probably a shorter walk than from my parking spot at home.
Overall, I guess the best compliment I could give is that I would stay here again.

Very clean, new cabin secluded in the trees. Perfect for a quiet getaway from it all. Close to Asheville and hikes. Owners very responsive.

Cool property. Couldn’t have picked a better place to stay since it rained the whole weekend. The place was comfortable for all of us to hang out during the rain. Great place.

We had a great time at the cabin. It was clean and very comfortable. I loved sitting in the balcony deck in the morning while drinking my coffee and listening to the birds chirping! My friend and I really enjoyed it. The only thing we could give feedback on is the couch. It’s not very comfy for more than two people. I think a different shape couch would be better. The hosts were extremely quick at replying with any questions we had. I would definitely stay again and would recommend. 5 stars all around!

Lovely cabin and location. The road to cabin is hard, and driveway is to steep to park.

Super clean with all the amenities. They use natural products which is a plus. They have a washer dryer, tub, and great deck looking over the forest. Super quiet and secluded.

The house was very secluded up a private drive which was nice. The owner's were great bringing fresh veggie's during our stay. The house was very clean, the only issue was we wish there was more green space for our dog's and watch out for ticks. Overall it was a Great stay and we would highly recommend this property.

Great, out of the way family cabin
We loved our stay, even though it was brief. We stayed for three adventure packed days and didn’t get to enjoy the cabin like I would have liked since we were out exploring. I would have loved to light a fire and enjoy the fire pit and stay on the back deck a bit longer. Great hosts and would love to come back.

Very clean property and responsive owners
We were looking specifically in this area to visit nearby family. The location is best if you want to be removed. We were very amused by the wild turkeys. The dirt/rock road and steep driveway are a bit challenging, but we were in an SUV. The house was very clean with a wonderful soaking tub. The couch seating lacked for a larger group, but worked fine for our needs.

Beautiful Property
Very lovely property! If you are looking for a secluded mountain retreat this is the place! Long rocky road to get to the cabin. The only issue was the driveway a bit difficult to maneuver but we made it work.
A very warm thank you to the hosts!!!!

The cabin was amazing. Great getaway. Close to Asheville, but far enough away to feel like we were away from the city

Beautiful Getaway
Such a lovely, secluded cabin retreat. Enjoyed all the amenities and would’ve loved to stay longer. Can’t wait to come back for another visit!

beautiful cabin in the woods
Winghaven Cabin appears new, is beautiful, and has an amazing view of the Asheville woods. Plenty of space, linens, pillows, kitchen dishes and utensils, impressive array of spices in the spice rack. Only challenge was the living room furniture only seats 3 comfortably so I recommend replacing it wth an L shape sectional. Parking is a little challenging due to the incline. Amazing experience great for multigeneraltional families, friends, or honeymooners

Nice little cabin!
This was a cozy, nice little cabin! Location is great and we enjoyed the fire pit. The only challenges were that the driveway is quite steep with limited parking space (would definitely recommend all-wheel drive), some of the lights needed switching out (e.g., light over oven), and there is limited seating area in the living room - especially given the number of beds.

Absolutely perfect
We had the best time this weekend! Celebrated a birthday & then we got married at Hidden River Events on Sunday and got to relax at the cabin for 2 days! Great response from property managers, house was very clean, and the pictures didn’t do it justice. We’re already looking at our schedules to try and plan another trip to stay here! We absolutely loved it.

Wonderful gateway !
We love the place, beautiful views, well equipped, location and thing to do near by the house. Very close to Biltmore Estate. The road to the house might feel challenging at first, but we did not have any problems goin up or down from the mountain.
